Hypostasis doesn't mean person. It originally meant substance, the same as ousia, but then philosophers started differentiating between substance and subsistence, and used hypostasis to refer to the latter. Subsistence is the concrete instantiation of a substance. Ex. There's the substance of rock, or rock-ness, and then there is the reality of an individual rock embodying the idea of rock-ness. This is more than an ephemeral shadow of the idea of rock; it is concrete. We can also differentiate between different kinds of substances. There is the individual substance, like the idea of myself, and then there are the substances of species and genus, like human and primate. I am the instantiation of the idea or substance of me. If we apply this to God, we get that God's substance is an individual substance, and that it is instantiated in three subsistences. In the Incarnation, Christ took on an individual human substance, adding a human form (a body and soul) to his subsistence, which is now both human and divine. The distinction between humanity and divinity considered in his subsistence (not in his substances) is a formal distinction. They are not mixed or confused, but separation occurs only in contemplation. Normally, we would say that a person is a subsistence which has certain properties, like sentience, but not everyone agrees. The Assyrian Church of the East says that Christ is two subsitences united in being one person.
Hypostasis does not mean Persons, but simply denotes a particular subject according to a particular Essence. These four terms, Person, Hypostasis, Nature and Essence Often get thrown around, thinking that Person=Hypostasis and Nature=Essence, when both extremes draw a distinction between the two. Nestorians do say there are two subjects in Christ, his Humanity and his Divinity, but say they are united in one Person. Ephesian Christians assert that Christ is united in one Subject, that being the Person of Christ. They're similar, but distinct in the manner that Nestorians assert that Christ dying on the Cross on speaks on the Subject of his Humanity, while calling him God the Word only denotes the subject of his Divine Nature. Its 'splits' Christ in the manner that makes it when we talk about Christ, we aren't talking about two people, but two subjects, while the Ephesian view denotes that the Person of Christ is a single Subject. The Non-Chalcedonian view goes further, saying that this singleness of Hypostasis would result in the singleness of Essence, expressed as two Natures, while the Chalcedonian position would divide the Essence with the Natures. The Chalcedonian position, which has been the normative position for most Christians, tends to then generalise Hypostasis and Essence with Nature and Person, when historically they have been two VERY distinct topics. It seems like semantics, but the words we use have very specific meaning. Persons are not simply the subjects of a particular essence/substance but a Rational Hypostasis, according to Saint Boethius, which the West accepted as the Universal definition, which the East would define differently. This is why Nestorians can say that they believe that Mary is the Mother of God, because 'God' to common modern language, is a personal term, not a descriptive term; if we used 'God' as a descriptive term, they would still disagree and say that Mary should be appropriately called 'The Mother of Christ'.
Can you do an episode about the difference between heretics and other religions? For example, no one calls a Buddhist a heretic, because he is simply not a Christian in any way. While some might call Muslims heretics, I would just consider them so separate as to not require that label. I feel like for there to be “orthodox Christians,” there HAVE to be non-orthodox Christians, right? Otherwise, its meaning is lost, as it’s not differentiating anything within the umbrella of Christianity. That’s why I’m fine falling Arius a “Christian,” he was just also a heretic.
This one issue split the church into 4 parts, but eventually led to Mary being worshipped by multiple branches of Christianity. God cannot die, or be resurrected. Jesus was god in human form. God is a spiritual being, like the soul. All men are made of two parts, their flesh and their souls. The soul is what lives on. Mary gave birth to Jesus's body, and god, as the word, was his soul.
“Is Mary the mother of God?” isn’t even the right question to ask. It has caused more confusion than clarity in the church. People are repulsed by the question because it immediately sounds like “did Mary give birth to the divine essence?” It’s just a bad question that we should have never focused on
New age christians do a similar thing but with the holy spirit, And will say all of us "are" Christ because we are filled with the spirit of Christ, and we share his _consciousness_ But are they just mucking up their words while trying to explain how we as the church are in gnosis with god through the holy Spirit making us the bride of Christ Because our tongues are confused because we're not allowed to build a tower to heaven as a unified mankind
You said that "Lord" is basically the same word as "God". I disagree because the phrase 'Lord of lords" would be interpreted as "God of gods". And there is only one God.
The argument about preferring the Alexandrian school is fair enough. However the argument that they separate Christs humanity and divinity to much is not accurate. The church of the east agree with the teachings of Chalcedon and they accepted it in the 6 century ( maybe not as an ecumenical council but they do agree with it). So they do agree with the chalcedonian definition of Christ’s two natures in one person. Even Nestorian himself supported Chalcedon. Nestorius also never even had a problem with calling Mary the mother of god and never advocated for the terms ban. He was fine with it so long as people didn’t deify Mary. That was always his concern. Everything else is just mostly made up propaganda or misunderstanding from his opponents. Hell even the Catholic Church realized this which is why they signed a Common christological declaration with the Assyrian church of the east a few decades ago.
What does that mean to you? Cause you understand that the way you read and interpret scripture will be based on your cultural backing. Even asking a question like this points towards the likelihood you came up in a certain denominational background. What does the Lord’s supper mean? Is it purely symbolic (baptist view), or is it physically the body and blood of Christ (Lutheran view). Should we baptize babies (Presbyterian view) or only those that are believers (baptist view)? Is baptism required for salvation? What role and authority does the church have in a believer’s life? You may think certain things are clear in scripture, when it comes to certain fundamentals most agree. But there are a lot of important and prevalent questions to ask. Different denominations have different views for a reason, and it’s not just made up stuff. Have you watched other videos by RZ to get a grasp on why different denominations believe what they do?

Agreed, I think one can very reasonably wonder if that question has been asked in an attempt to prop up Mary beyond the text of Scripture
How do I join kingdom craft
New age christians do a similar thing but with the holy spirit,
And will say all of us "are" Christ because we are filled with the spirit of Christ, and we share his _consciousness_
But are they just mucking up their words while trying to explain how we as the church are in gnosis with god through the holy Spirit making us the bride of Christ
Because our tongues are confused because we're not allowed to build a tower to heaven as a unified mankind
Next do "Why I'm not church of Sweden" xD
RZ i finally bought Minecraft!

I personally am not Litheranism, but idk
why is he avoiding the three self patriotic movement? is he hiding something we dont know about?

Why not follow Jesus instead of John Calvin or some man made philosophy or a denomination?
All denominations are man made. All of the major ones follow Jesus. Only extremely small ones don't.
Non denominational just follow their foolish hearts so whats the difference?
It's too ethnic
