Very helpful!! Thank you! I was not aware of the clarifying shampoo. I will be getting some soon! I am a little over a year into my silver-hair journey and loving it! I appreciate the time you took to review these items.
I a happy to do it!! I love connecting with other women on this journey!! The support and encouragement was a game changer for me!! So it's my turn to give back!
Omg thank you for this!!! This is a new journey for me, really never thought to get a clarifying shampoo because hard water and build up was never an issue (rarely use any products) until the color change,(yellowing) Ran out and his morning and bought a bottle. Again THANK YOU for being a voice/inspiration/educator for the newly transitioning
Awww now I get to see your beauty full screen!!! You are so good with products, thanks for sharing your knowledge! I have to go buy some clarifying shampoo!
Hi Amanda👋🌺 Thank you for your informative video. I am not fully grown out and since I've had silver highlights and toner done, my stylist said not to use clarifying shampoo during this time or it will strip the toner out. So, I have been using Aussie brand shampoo for colored hair and once a week I use purple shampoo/conditioner. I don't have to wash my hair every day, I stretch it out by using, believe it or not, cornstarch with a little lavender essential oil. I'm a lot older than you so I can go longer between washes at this age. I had already bought a clarifying shampoo before I got the no-go from my stylist, so fir now I use it to clean my makeup brushes and sponges(it works great!). I use Suave Clarifying Shampoo, it's less than $3 at Walmart. Lol! I am a little confused about when to use the purple conditioner as you mentioned using it in dry hair so it absorbs better. Ard you saying to use the conditioner first then the shampoo?
Great feedback re the clarifying shampoo!!! I use purple shampoo and conditioner once a week BUt sometimes I put my conditioner on my dry hair pre a normal shampoo wash day… does that make sense?
The oil you use is why your hair want hold curl or have much body. Using those products regularly will weigh your hair down. Suggestion would be leave oil off for a while, use body building shampoo and conditioner. As a hairdresser for many years there are some instances where a pale yellow in the hair is natural for some. Probably because they were blonde naturally. Just my thoughts, but everyone should do what they are comfortable with. Good video and informative content. Also, clarifying shampoo can be drying as well, so be aware.
I need help. My son’s wedding is coming up and I have thin straight gray hair. I will use rollers to create soft waves but I need help with what product to use to keep the curls for at least 12 hours….while make sure my hair doesn’t look dull. Would love to hear your suggestions
I am in love with my conair curling iron!! It has been a game changer for me! I have it in my Amazon store fronts!! Much better than a regular curling iron!! Second day hair and a little mouse works best for me!!! If you can splurge and get your hair done, I say do that!! You will be in so many picture!!
Thank you for this helpful information. In the last two years our house is on well water, soft water not hard water. Does Clarifying Shampoo have the same benefits? naturally grey hair here. thank you!
I think this is different for everyone but I do use mine once a week. For some people it can dry out your hair or leave a purple colouring for a few days.
Just found this after a LONG search! I'm in transition and have a pretty dang good color gray growing out, maybe to my cheek bones? And the rest, is purple!😂 I bleached out the brown dye and went this route because i thought it would make an easier transition and so far so good. I'm hoping to keep it balanced...maybe a purple mask occasionally??? I'm only 4 minutes in and I had to pause to comment 😊
I havent seen any yellow yet but my hair is just to my chin. I found that a deep moisturizing conditioner is a must every time I wash my hair or else its dry ( i use a dupe for Miracle 10 from sally beauty which is so nice) and wash 3x per week only. Then sometimes when wet I spray Aussie leave in conditioner which is very light but tames any ends. I am terrified of purple shampoo bc it wrecked my hair a yr ago. Hoping I have no yellowing so I dont have to use it- but if I do, will do 1x per month only.
As a licensed stylist I feel I need to correct a few things. 1. Once a week is very vague. It depends on how many times a week you shampoo. Purple shampoo is safe to use every 3rd shampoo. 2. Purple shampoo is drying so deep condition lengths and ends after and you’ll be fine 3. Not conditioning every shampoo is bad advice. Condition lengths and ends every shampoo. The key is using the right conditioner for your hair type. If you find a conditioner weighs your hair down you’re not using the right conditioner. Use one specified for fine limp hair. 3. Only shampoo your scalp not lengths and ends. The shampoo that gets on the lengths and ends during rinse will suffice. 4. She’s correct about shampooing before purple shampoo because shampooing opens the cuticle and that allows the color to absorb better. You do shampoo all of your hair with toning shampoo 4. Argon oil is fine but coconut oil is optimal. If you don’t want oily pillowcases you can just apply it to lengths and ends 30 min before shampooing. 5. Always use a leave in conditioner. Just make sure it’s appropriate for your hair type 6. There is no scientific proof that growth serums work. Scalp care is the key to hair growth. 7. Chelating shampoo should be used every 3rd shampoo 8. Please don’t take hair care advice from non professionals.
Just sharing what seems to work for me but you are the pro so I appreciate your comment!! Question, what do you think about putting dry purple shampoo on your hair first? I feel like this is working the best!! I also fine SOME purple shampoo drying but not all! The DOVE brand is my fav so far!!
@@amandasilversister I would be concerned about uneven distributiond. My recommendation is always shampoo first to open the cuticle then purple shampoo.
Sorry... NO, coconut oil is NOT optimal for all... many people including myself find that is makes the hair very dry and stiff. Also, these are just some made up hair rules when where do they come from ??? It's all trial and error for each individual. Sorry, no disrespect to you or your profession.

As said before its different 4 e'one.. in my case its about 7-10 days

For healthier hair I do argain or jojoba oil with rosemary, just steam for 20 mi & ready to use ..
I need to try this!
What is your favorite organic clear shampoo and conditioner for more day to day?
I use something called Bioshampoo by speIerie palazzo vecchio but anyone would work! Just something gentle!
@@amandasilversister thank you! I just started my transition journey back in September. Lots to learn.
