The Lion King is the first movie I remember watching as a kid.
My mother, brother, and I were staying at a homeless shelter in Stockton, CA at the time and they gave all of the kids a free ticket and snack pack for the movie.
It's one of the very few good memories I have from that time in my life.
Lorena is such a blast in these videos!

Fun fact. Real life Lions aren't big on incest, so when a male matures, he is made to leave the pride and take over another pride. And if he's strong enough to usurp the male of the other pride, he kills the current cubs and mates with the females.
These pitch meetings are really funny 😁 To be fair though, neither Scar nor Simba could change the weather, Scar just didn't bother to take the pride somewhere better and wetter when the dry season began. And that Toto being obsessed with Africa joke was a good one 😆
Sinister or not, Scar not immediately killing Simba himself and instead just sending the hyenas who already failed him earlier was pretty dumb of him. It's literally what came back around and spelled his doom in the end.
Not to mention the hyenas already failed him before.

@@rome8180 I disagree, with Scar's arrogant attitude, he wouldn't want to get blood on his paws, how would that look if he happened to come back stained red? No one would believe it was an accident. He should have known however that the hyenas were unreliable. But when the stampede failed, he had to rely on a fall-back plan...which we all know, like Hitler gambling on securing the Russian oil for the German war machine, is just that, a gamble...low chance of success...(I make that reference only because Be Prepared is perhaps my favorite Disney song and I just love the goose-stepping hyenas. Cracks me up every time...kinda...we know how Disney is.)
(I know all that was just justification, but it's fun to think about...lol...)

The Lion King 1 and 1/2 (Part 3, technically) is fantastic. It's basically Part 1 again, but from Timon and Pumbaa's perspective. The "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" to Part 1's "Hamlet".

I found it odd there was no "Kimba the White Lion" reference at all
2:52, in real life, yes but it doesn’t really make sense to assume that this movie is realistic about that. Especially given that Simba tells Nala “you sound like my father” eliciting an “at least one of us does” implying that Mufassa isn’t her father and when Timon asks who Scar is, Nala tells him he’s Simba’s Uncle implying he’s not her uncle.
That was fun. I like Lorena.
Literally had all these thoughts at 5 years old when I first watched this movie.

Theory: It is possible that Scar didn't kill Simba right off the bat cuz he was his nephew and still a child, thus he couldn't do it himself. Unlike Mufassa who was already a grown up and the jealousy towards him was already at its peak. Simba was just a kid and Scar had nothing against him yet. Every villain has a piece of softness inside of them.
Actually, I think I agree with the video...It's like a double-villain move...What do you do when you want to kill someone? Make sure they don't see the assassin coming...so you tell him to run, then you send your agents to kill him, so when he stops to catch his breath, thinking he's safe, he gets the coup 'de grace...It just so happened that the agents were incompetent...Scar couldn't have literally had blood on his paws when he returned, so he couldn't do the deed and the stampede didn't work, so he chose a backup option...But it's such a timeless movie that we can both interpret it in completely opposite ways...they don't make stuff like this anymore...

disney's dirty , everyone born in the 60's remembers " KImba " The White Lion .
I've also only seen the animated movie once. But for me, that has to do with age. I was 14 when The Lion King came out. I was about to start high school. I was more into punk rock music than animated movies. I feel like you can age someone by which Disney movies they watched as a kid. People of the generation after mine are obsessed with The Lion King.

7:50 Yeah, they made a Lion King 2 and a Lion King 1 1/2...yeah...1 1/2...and the family trees only get weirder, especially when they introduce Simba's son, Kion...and Scar's "Technically" adopted son, Kovu and two other siblings Vitani and Nuka (another "Rogue lion" introduced is Zira...creating a crazy genealogy that some of us furry weirdos try to make sense of)...Kovu and Nuka, who happen to look just like Scar, only they are protagonists, so don't have the sinister bearing but the same color markings...Oh man, then there's Kiara, Simba's daughter who is theoretically the product of those "F-Me eye's"...Vitani may also be the daughter of Nala and Scar...this shit just get crazier the more you think about it...
Actually this should have just been the producers asking the lawyers can we get away with ripping off the Japanese manga cartoon Kimba the White Lion from 1966 if we change the color of the Lion?
they took inspiration from it and there should be an inspiration credit but they didn't "rip it off", there's not nearly enough similarities between pre-1994 kimba and Lion King in fact most of the scenes used in those "gotcha" videos are using footage from the 1997 Kimba movie which proves the opposite if anything.

The only things that matters here are the "cited" scenes that try to prove the point, if those scenes came out in 1997 or any time between 1966 and 1994 makes a huge difference. So if these other videos are using footage from 1997 and trying to claim it's pre 1994 those are the people lying and being disingenuous. I take it back I don't want your tears go cry them a river for duping you into believing lies.

I loved how _The Simpsons_ once pointed out how Kimba _The Lion King_ was an unabashed rip-off of the Japanese anime _Kimba the White Lion_ which I used to watch when I was a kid.

Lions are a keystone species, so it's not inconceivable they could have an effect on the weather, and certainly on the environment, though obviously not that fast.
Just look at the effect that the loss and reintroduction of wolves had on Yellowstone.
The Elephants are another keystone they definitely help change the landscape that benefits other creatures.
The Elephant and the termite help create watering holes in Africa
The story about the eradication of the wolves in the southwest where they were almost killed to extinction is disgusting , mans intervention ruined the whole Eco-system . . . once again !

And it might potentially be the show that breaks the anime live action curse....
And its budget is 18 million per episode.
Original mangaka is involed in the production for a faithful adaptation. And they are trying to make it as a standalone product independent of the original anime similar to the Harry Potter or Walking dead etc... By making necessary changes to suit yhe medium but at the same time being faithful to the original.
One piece is a story everyone needs to watch... For its high quality characters, plot, world building, long form storytelling, themes, sense of adventure, intense emotional moments and many more. One piece is one of the greatest stories set in an epic fantastical lived-in breathing world having one of the if not THE best Worldbuilding.
Even though it broke all the records and became highest selling manga ever, 2nd highest selling comic ever, only after Superman, 9th highest selling work of fiction by a single author of all time in the history (crossing harry Potter)... And the story is so good that it's going strong still after 26 years of it's incipience...
But still its highly underrated and not even as popular as Dragonball.. inspite of its high quality storytelling.
That's why this live action is necessary to reach out and introduce one piece to the general audience who don't watch anime/read manga or people who don't have time to commit to 1000 chapters or some other reasons.
The Netflix season 1 will be the first saga of one piece i.e., 60 episodes or 100 chapters of one piece, which is kind of a prologue to the grand epic story it sets up.
The official trailer as well as a teaser trailer are out.
