I am going to be 70 next year & ever since I was a little girl Mom taught me to make my bed as soon as I get up ,Mom is 90 & she still makes her bed every morning when she gets up as well.she also taught me to do the dishes right after we eat. I had 5 brothers & growing up we always kept the house picked up before bedtime. I enjoy your videos so much Have a Blessed weekend & up and coming week ( Judy )

Judy K. ..Hi I'm 74 in a few days & an older sister of five. Our mom was a stay at home mom in iMich. & we learned to do things from her.We were thrifty.
We moved to So.Ca.in 1960 in time for me to go to High School. We all met our husband's.
We married young and we were all happy .Three of us are widows and two are still together. We loved our childhood's.
I enjoyed her video & your comment . Happy day to you .❤

It's actually better to put the blanket on a chair and let air to the mattress and blanket to prevent mold inside of it. I always do that and open the bedroom window while making my breakfast and then I put everything back nicely. Didn't know that for a long time, too 🤗

    I am french.
Making the bed is part of the culture, however we take the sheets and duvet out ,we shake them by the window and put them back on the bed.
There is nothing better to get into a fresh bed even in the winter.

My mom was German. We did this as well. Not only this, we slept with our windows open to allow the fresh air in and this was in winter as well! My poor dad! Wore a cap all the time! Have a great day!

I live in the West Indies and grew up doing the same. These days the habit is a bit lax but I do it when I return from school drop off.

    • @anjafink8996
      @anjafink8996 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Exactly. And I never make my bed right after getting up because of the approximately 1.5 liters of moisture we sweat into our sheets each night. It's important to let that evaporate at least for an hour. Mites love moisture and moderate temperatures. So winter is perfect for getting rid of them. Hang the sheets and blankets out the window in the freezing cold. So bacteria, mites and moisture get reduced.

    • @anjafink8996
      @anjafink8996 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@MMN Yes. I remember that too. In the morning the whole town had blankets and pillows hanging out of the windows. 😊

I am 67 years old & when I retired in 2014, I made a promise to myself that I would get up every morning and put on my make up, fix my hair as if I was still going into work. Taking care of our skin is the very least we can do for ourselves and we so deserve it! Love watching you & your family. I give you so much credit for homeschooling! Looking forward to your next video...

I was a stay at home mom/wife when my kids were little and worked as a cook and barista on the weekend, people would always ask me what I did all day since I didn’t “work” during the week. If I had your videos to show them, this would answer their questions.

Angela you make the loveliest videos... the scenery outside your windows is stunning. Even the ride to the gym with all the snow covered pine trees
Love the little quaint town and the breakfast shop. Your children are going to have the most amazing memories of growing up the way they did.
The prayers around the table and sitting down to a home cooked meal warms my heart. Your oldest daughter looks like a mini you with her plaid robe that matched yours❤️. You can tell you take care of your skin because it’s just glowing and flawless. Just like a doll. Thank you for a wonderful experience ❤️🙏🏼

Making the bed is an absolute must for me too. For the kids, they still need help making their beds, ages 5, 3 and 2 but I am working with them on it. And we recently started trying to pick their outfits out the night before so there is less thinking in the morning. Just grab and go. It is amazing how big of a difference such a small step can make in having a morning go more smoothly.

Thank you for taking us along with you! Enjoyed it! Don’t you just love how a low stocked pantry makes you more creative with food? Some favorite dishes of my family resulted from throwing together what we had left, before a grocery run.
I went straight away and tried those pin curls with my flat iron😂 It worked so good and gave me vintage looking curls!

I wake up at 4:30 every day, and my job is with kiddos! If I don't follow a routine myself, how am I supposed to stress to them how helpful it can be? So I have a very important routine every morning - making my bed, studying my bible, drinking a cup of black tea to get me going - all before I leave the house to hang out with my favorite little ones! And it totally helps.

From a fellow homeschooling mama (of 5), THANK YOU so much for this. Watching your schooling time, with kids here there and everywhere, and seeing you shake the rugs, tidy up, etc. well, it just made me feel... normal. And honestly, it made me feel special. Because seeing someone who I admire doing the same things I do daily, made me realize that being a mother and taking care of the home really is such a blessing. It’s not glamorous, or easy, but oh, how wonderful it is to have the (God given) strength and ability to take care of the people He has placed in our
life. So thank you, Angela, and hugs to you. ❤️

This video made me smile! This is my day yet different as well. I am a homeschool mama and I could relate to ALL the rituals, check lists, transitions and tiny moments in your day. I’m amazed you work at night! I’m a portrait artist and I try to commit to 30-40 minutes a day to my artwork but it’s hard. I enjoyed your day in January from beginning to end but the early morning gathering where the fireplace is to read the Bible together was extra special, such a good beginning before other school lessons began. And as always, how you all gather together even for lunch instead of you trying to be a short order cook was impressive. And that supper! You make magic out of a few basic ingredients. Another thing, I can easily see each of your children carrying with them into adulthood and their own families so many of the daily experiences they had growing up. That is exciting!

1st time watching your video. I'm 33, mom of a 5, 3, and 1 year old. Our 4th baby is due in July. We homeschool. When you said it was "demanding" being a homeschool mom, I felt that (even though my kiddos are still very small), it was encouraging to hear. Sometimes it feels like I'm on a hamster wheel. Totally love your style and can relate to many of the things you said... fixing the bed, drinking broth, working out, taking a few minutes to look human again, tidying up the house so there is some peaceful area to be in, and when you sat down to read the Bible with your crew, it made me almost tear up. I get that feeling. We also eat organic as much as possible... love Kerrygold, too! Thank you for putting into words & video some of the sentiments I have. Following from Southern California.. near San Diego :)

Thank you for sharing a day in your life. I agree beds need to be made and we need to be dressed for the day. It makes the day feel more straight and complete, if that makes sense. Your children are blessed to have you for their mom. Love your channel!

Thanks for the inspiration. We have moved too far away from those sweet mornings together. It's my new priority this year.

Paused it at 8:41. These are very good life skills to teach your children. Even though they are home schooled. In the future when they are grown these are things they will have to do. Get up brush your teeth get cleaned up and out the door.

New subscriber here. I enjoyed watching you with the kids during the morning Bible study. My parents did that when I was growing up too. I'm a recently retired teacher and loved hearing your son read aloud. It's the best thing ever for kids to do. Your dinner was simple but delicious. I can't wait to go back and watch other video's.

I have always been fascinated with people who have consistent energy with calmness. You are the epitome of such a person. I do so love your videos. My children are grown, but when I see you homeschooling, I regret I did not do that. As I said, tho, not much energy and not much patience. I am trying to emulate you in getting up earlier and getting completely ready for the day. When I am able to do so (I have FM), I feel so much better and feel like I have accomplished something important. God bless your family and keep you healthy!

Hello Angela! Loved the day in the life video 😊. That was an interesting way you curled your hair. I’ve never seen it done like that ☺️. Hope you have a nice day today!!! ❤️

The best part of this entirely charming video, (besides your fab lip color) was seeing your daughter in her sparkly shoes at the coffee house! The way children embrace simple pleasures is inspiring.

We need a video on how exactly you curled your hair in this video. The time lapse was just too fast to see how the heck you made it look so good so fast.
I’m curious did you apply or spray anything in your hair before it was curled?
And did you put anything in it after curling it? Because it looked pretty great all day that day...
As always, thank you so much for your heartwarming content 💜
