Maybe a gold body, black hood and roof and a black band around the "ass" of the car to put sponsors in/on. You got this !!

Love your energy, and enthusiasm for car life. Y’alls videos are fun to watch!
I realize you have already used an all metal type filler on your roof seams … I’ve been in the custom and restoration biz for most of my 68 years of age ( old fart lol) sounds great , metal to metal?? Steel and aluminum base filler in our experience have drastic expansion rates. We use Dynaglass or Duroglass filters in roof seams with no shrinkage down the line on top Autorama show cars .. your Rum Runner is going a metallic gold awesome ! Just some words to help
with the longevity of your paint job … you Guys Rock , keep up the great Gnarlyness !!!

22:36 NO where NEAR the amount of welds you need for that roof and quarter to hold correctly. The flex is going to crack all the hard work or worse pop out. Come on guys. No short cuts. Do it properly or give it to someone who can.

Hey you two, retired body man from Liz's home country. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think you have the 1/4 to roof welded on anywhere good enough.. Looks like a few tacks and that's no where near enough weld. Keep an eye on it on your trip, but I think you'll want to grind and weld that more before final paint.
By the way, great project and color , black cars suck when you own it.

I think it may have been aluminum.Just wipe it off with lacquer thinner,or a d.a. if you get sidetracked.lol. used a piece of glass for a while also. Card board should never be used for mixing on because sucks solvents in resins out of your base and pulls the hardner catalysts out and effects the ratio mixture could cause hot spots and cold spots where the base can be soft and gooey in areas and harden more in others. So always mix on hard surface with no porosity. FYI

I always think safety first. Most of your viewers are older but concerned for the younger ones. Please...gloves, safety googles, steel toe boots, etc.& speaking to safety so they understand it should always be a priority.

The color on pipe was pretty close if you add red in that color combo youll be really close to what your looking for. That gold you have on the car right now looks good but not so much for the theme your looking for. Yeah get the body work all done painted and cleared will be beautiful brosuf, and brosette.

He had to have a liver transplant because he didn't protect himself from solvents. And now he has kidney troubles too. Some of those chemicals are really nasty. Trust me, you do NOT want to get cancer. I really enjoy your channel, would like you to still be around in another 40 years so my grandson can watch. You need to weld completely the guarter panels to the roof, spot welds will break in no time the charger is unibody and that area is structural, important, you don’t fully weld it the car will buckle at the rear, retired body man and 68 charger R/T owner, mixing bondo on cardboard is a no no use glass, aluminum, I see you already bondo the 1/4 panels, just remember what I mentioned.

@@GnarlySpeedShop [O]Liv[ia] and Danny, clearly You two are still very busy with significant time, efforts, work involved in continuing toward achieving this "Rum Runner" 1968 Charger BBE Drag & Drive racing vehicle project to be ready to participate in the event next month in Northern California, Oregon; as You participated with [O]Liv[ia]'s 1967 LeMans last year.
The vehicle is coming together very well with the stated, obvious remaining work required and goal to be running, functioning within two weeks to then have enough time to use the vehicle locally, etc. to verify it functional to drive the 900 miles to the event, then within the event competition, and return back.
It seems that You will achieve these results, as planned, needed, hopefully within the time frame and level that You desire.
Am looking forward to seeing the video next week with showing Your process, accomplishments, functionality.
The single color also with the one front quarter panel in a glimmer gold certainly looks better than previously. Also see what [O]Liv[ia] described about the quarter panel as a gold tooth of a pirate - > "Rum Runner".
Since You have participated in that event last year in September, You are well aware of the long drive, sun, heat from SoCal to NoCal, along with the weather during the event too. Certainly You are aware of the conditions driving the 1967 LeMans which also does not have air conditioning, but has a rather light blue paint with patina surface, thus does not absorb so much of the sun rays, rather reflects much too. Thus, the black paint will certainly absorb very significantly, much more heat from the sun, thus the passenger compartment will certainly be much hotter. then adding the larger heat from the BBE will increase the heat too. Also the trunk lid, top of rear quarter panels will absorb the sun's ray, heat up, thus also the trunk space which contains the large fuel cell will also become quite hot, such the fuel will also. That can also result in issues with fuel pressure reduction, especially with normal fuel station unleaded fuel.
If You could, would find some easy way to cover the black paint by lighter colr paint or a simple wrap as the chrome/silver purchased to cover the fiber-glass bumpers, then the reduction of heat by reflection in place of significant absorption, will have very profound, significant affects, results, improvement. Perhap You could even fiind a wrap which is suitable to a rum color with glimmer, sparkle too.
In addition, if the fuel system including carburetor, fuel lines were modified to handle E-85, high ethanol fuel, the reliable performance with far less carbon deposits, better temperature, more consistent fuel, especially with any C-85/85% - 98 % ethanol would certainly be much better and less expensive for the long drive(s) though it will use more fuel.
Am certainy that after You will return from the event, You will mange to combine the paints to achieve Your desired, specific "Rum" color too.
Another suggestion: perhaps You would consider to have the paint to appear as the shown "rum" color during daylight, and as "dark rum" at night ?
Also another suggestion about the shirt material color. The white shirt material are very nice, bright, especially during summer. However, white is not always very practical for everyone. The light grey "O'Reilly" shirt that [O]Liv[ia] wore, seen in the later portion of this video, is a much more versatile shirt material color. Also various shades of blue form light to medium or navy along with various shades of grey to medium. They are certainly better than black, since black absorbs so much sun, thus are full with heat. You might also consider a specific shirt color for "Rum Runner" similar with rum or a tan too. Other pastels can also be useful too.
Perhaps You can arrange to have a personal ink printer to custom print Your shirts, or work with some others, especially within SoCal and elsewhere among many platform channels too.
All The Best 😊, Sincerely ☺

Try firepower for your battery. They make great ones for dirt bikes and such. Not sure about cars.

Your pipe fittings for your water pump to the radiator need to have some kind short rubber hose for movement ... I know you have solid motor mounts, but there is movement, and you will crack one of your fittings. Just saying ....

I like the gold color or whatever shade you guys decide to use, but a little black color on maybe the top panels front to back or just keep the front grill and rear tail light area blacked out to give it some more contrast?

Test those balls in some fuel, make sure they do not melt. Did you order the glass you'll need yet ? I'd be worried about the delivery time.

Absolutely test as wiffle balls are known to melt in high octane gas conditions. This was an old trick back in the 60s TransAm series but the balls were a different compound back then.

That bondos not going to keep the rear quarter attached to the roof!! Those few Tack welds are not good for any strength. Any amount of horsepower could cause torque twist and them spot welds will let loose and the bondo will crack. Your choice on how to correct, but It should be welded complete. Originally, that seam was probably leaded in.
