I used a 10 mH coil, and a high frequency switch mosfet transistor, 1000uf capacitor, 1k resistor, 1n4007 diode. Can you help me understand? Thank you
That diode is doing absolutely nothing in that spot, the transistor is already doing the job the diode is required for. Certainly you can remove it and the circuit will perform the exact same way.

You need 2 coils. In the video a double toroidal is interconnected.
