Yes, "Chase me" was their debut, released on January 13th (a Friday), 2017. It must have been nerve-wrecking for the members, re-debuting with a genre that is not popular in Korea after Minx failed. (5 of them were Minx before.) But they already doubled their sales with this. And they stuck with the Rock/Metal vibe until today, now selling 50 times the albums than Minx did. This is the start of the Nightmare arc, which spans 6 MVs and 1 Japanese release. They are Nightmares here, and the Nightmare hunter is trying to dispel them - how that turns out is shown in the next one, Good Night. Their dance costume here is like a shortened Yukata, except wrapped right over left, something that's usually only done for the deceased. Fits well into the horror concept!
In 2017 I was following Twice, but then Chase Me popped up in my YT feed. I watched it and thought that this was what I'd been looking for, and what was missing from mainstream Kpop. Koreans don't like rock so the song wasn't a hit in South Korea, but international Kpop fans noticed it and liked it. It's been that way with them ever since. Some success in South Korea, but it's the international fans who have really been the force behind the grudging recognition from the Kpop industry that they have something special. It took 5 years of hard work before they won a music show award. This usually happens within one year of a group debuting. They just never gave up, and kept getting better and better until they couldn't be ignored any longer. This year they won Best Performance Musician from Music Bank for Justice. This is how it goes for them. The industry cannot ignore their powerful stage presence even though they may not like their music.
Great reaction and Chase me is also the beginning of the nightmare series. In order : - Chase me - Good night - fly high ( prequel) - you and I - what - Piri ( the end) - breaking out ( alternate ending in Japane)
