Aurora was our first ever cruise in 2014…. It’s where we got engaged and has some very special memories for us. We hope you enjoy this Vlog! We’re dedicating this series to our friend Sian who sadly passed away last year. She was working on board Aurora back in 2014 and helped us so much for our first cruise. She was a good friend and we miss her dearly.
Hahaha, it wasn't too bad this time, but do wish they had a package on these shorter ones! Hahaha, Luke is a big titanic fan so he couldn't resist it ;) Hopefully catch you on a cruise one day!
Just got home after doing a comedy show. I can't believe how many clothes you brought Luke looks like you were going for a month. She's looking good such a classy old girl. Can't wait till Tuesday. Lovin your work guys
Ahh sorry to hear about your friend but glad you’ve done this video as I’m sure it has so many memories. My cousin has been battling breast cancer for a while, and now it’s spread to her hip clavicle and spine… she’s going to pass away but will fight all the way for her little daughter who’s just turned two. It’s hard to accept as she seems so well. Life is cruel sometimes and the good ones always go first x
Omg we’re so sorry to hear that, that’s awful our friend sian unfortunately passed through cancer and it’s awful we totally agree the good ones always go first but I think that’s because they’re too good for this world x sending love and we’re thinking of you xx
@@CruiseMonkeys Thankyou for your kind words, and I’m sure your friend was an absolutely amazing person. Yes indeed I agree, they are to good for this world and hopefully your friend is living her best life somewhere else looking down at you two and laughing at your loveable daft ways. Oh no, we said 'but in a nice way' - we have to clarify that as if Nan found out we'd have a clip across the head and no more cake when we visit! ;) Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great vlog guys. Fair play you were still able to stand at the end of the night. Your rendition of “Jolene” unforgettable.🤪 What a beautiful ship thank you so much for showing her to us and special memories for you both. The pure joy of cruising comes out in everyone of your video’s. There’s nothing like that first day on board. I love it❤️. Xx
Hello chaps! It’s nice to see you’re still uploading! After my first cruise on Ventura in 2019, I’ve yet to go on my second. I’ve been looking for the next couple of months and I’ve found a wonderful 5 night cruise on Aurora, love the videos as always!!
Heya! Good to see your still looking to cruise! Aurora is a beaut… she’s a smaller, older ship, but she’s a classic! Proper teak decks, classic design, full prom - not a sparkly modern ship but she’s a fave and holds some very special memories 🥰 if you want a proper cruise ship she’s a good one for 5 nights 👍
We’re booked on Aurora for April 2024 on an 18 night Med cruise. It would be fantastic if we bumped into you two, watching Luke slowly get sloshed was hilarious. The best tour of the ship ever 😂😂
Thanks for another brilliant video guys 🤩 Aurura is absolutely stunning! A great cabin as well - it may not be as flashy as the more modern ships, but there's a lot to love 😍 Aurora's aft is also one of the best out there - looks stunning, great views, plus a bar, pool, and hot tubs. What more could you want?! Looking forward to watching the rest of your series 🤩
Glad you enjoyed it! She really is a great ship, as you say, she is not big and flashy like modern ships, but she is still fresh, full of character and a lot to love!

Great update guys and you really made me laugh with your journey to oblivion by the end. My good lady and myself are going to be on Aurora in December heading to Alta. Looking forward to the next episode chaps. 😁👍(so sorry to hear about your dear friend, God Bless her X)
Haha, glad you enjoyed it. Ohh, Alta Norway? In search of the northern light - beautiful, one we want to do one day! Awww, thank you for your lovely comment :)
Lovely ship. Very elegant and traditional, the sort of ship I admire. I am not at all keen on the Las Vegas ships. They are not for me, but I could see myself on this one. Thank you for the video!
Enjoyed that thanks for sharing. She looks a lovely traditional ship especially the aft with that pool. Maybe try in a few years without the kids. Look forward to next one.
New subscriber here, searching Aurora as sailing on her in October and found your channel, you guys are hilarious, love the way you put the vlog together and the drinking was legendary.
Hi guys, a great first vlog. ( I would not have liked being your head the next day Luke haha!!!!!!!) Got to agree with you Aurora is a lovely ship, even if the rooms are now a little dated. Would love to bump into you guys on a cruise for a chat and a few drinks, maybe one day. We met up with Matt and Kelly on our last cruise on Iona last November, we had a great time with them. If you go on there channel you can see me doing the conservatory suite tour with Matt, Kelly was a bit under the weather that day so I stepped in. Looking forward to your next one guys. Mandy and I are sorry to hear you have lost a good friend, so young too. Our very best wishes to you both. Dave and Mandy ( Chester )
Thank you for the lovely comment, glad you enjoyed it! If you are ever on the same cruise as us, do come and say hi, its always nice to meet new people. You'll know where to find us ;) We watch their vlogs, but havent yet been on the same cruise as them.
What a great start to a new Vlog series, you were both on top form, Luke especially 🤣 🍷 🍻. I was so interested to see Aurora and I agree she looks a beautiful ship, full of character and charm. I agree that her interior looks much nicer than Britannia, she looks like a proper ship rather than a hotel and is definitely on our list. Being a Dolly fan, I was very impressed by the tribute act 🎤. Looking forward to the next one 😄 🚢 ❤️
Looks a lovely ship. I work as ground crew but never been on board. I saw you in the baggage hall the morning you disembarked. Keep the vlogs coming guys.
Lovely ship Aurora smaller and intermit similar to princesses Sun class which we have sailed on many times. P&O Pacific Explorer leaves Sydney on the 31st the first cruise in over 2 years we're excited have a great time.
Ok Luke you made me very nervous with the glass sitting on the banister, don’t do that😊 especially you like to talk with your hands. Every wave of your hand i was holding my breath. Hey Gavin big difference holding that cruise card instead of wearing the princess medallion♥️. The ship looks very nice. Thanks so much guys for letting me tune in on sail away day.😊🚢
Haha, we didn't even spot that till you said :) Roll on Princess, be glad to get the Medallion back. A lovely ship, thank you watching and hope you enjoy the next one!
Yaaaay my faves are back!! So glad you didn’t keep us waiting long before your next adventure. A drunk Luke and QR Code Gavin are the best 🤣 Aurora looks a lovely cosy ship, she may have to be added to our list. Sorry to hear about your friend Sian, life can be so unfair but you did a great job with your vlog for her❤️
We did 19 days before your cruise Nice to see inside your cabin We had a delux on B Deck bigger and much bigger and open balcony def worth the extra money It was our 32nd PO cruise but first on Aurora loved the ship So much better than the bigger ships
Loving your videos your thoughts and insights are funny and truthful and you really do make people want to cruise booked iona for next September first cruise
Hi both, Just come home from Iona ! Lovely ship but think its too big to go up Fjords! Your excitement about Aurora has helped make a decision to go on Aurora June 2023 🤣
Yeah, have heard she is struggling with some ports up there! Aurora is so tiny compared, but she has loads to offer. Goes to show big and new is not always best :)
We were on this cruise too... I remember thinking that you must be mad to be in the whirlpool... 🤣 we were at the aft too for sail away... was our first cruise since 2019... so the sail away was quite emotional... 😭
Very enjoyable blog, Aurora was our first cruise on her maiden season with ( Mandy). We have stayed in C226 and did enjoy our upgrade. Have D298 for November 28 nighter, so really looking forward. Dioch Bruce ( Llangennech)
Oh fab, think we saw some old footage of that, things were different back then with bands and streamers! 28 night, of fabulous, that will be wonderful on Aurora! Thanks for watching - Diolch! :)
Thanks so much for this video. I’m going on Aurora next March so I’m even more excited now, it looks a lovely ship. I don’t drink so it was quite funny watching you talk about the alcohol options and getting progressively drunker! It also freaked me out that you stood that empty glass on the rail. (Dwi’n licio ei acen chdi Luke, gyda llaw. Cymru am byth!)
You'll have a lovely time on her - beautiful ship! We do tend to like a drink on holiday, so as the nights go on you will see a theme! We're not sure what our accent is, being in Pembrokeshire it's a mix of Welsh and English hahaha! Thanks for watching! Diolch :)
You two have got some explaining to do! We were meant to be having a 'dry' couple of weeks before our hols, you put out a video, we knew you would be drinking and that MADE us get a couple of bottles to 'join' you in your vlog last night. Well, it could be that we were weak willed and just needed any excuse to have a drink. 🍾🍾I think the latter.🤣 How many days and how much clothing???? 💼Aurora still looks lovely and we cannot wait till December to see her again. We think she does not lack for a small ship. Keep the videos coming and keep us all smiling.
Sorry Not Sorry hahahaha! Glad you enjoyed. We never pack light from Southampton, that unlimited luggage is just too tempting! Good luck avoiding the alcohol next weekend too ;)
For an older cruise ship it’s pretty nice and cozy! Sometimes a smaller ship is the way to go. Glass house is probably my favourite hangout and I love when you go through the menus with the snacks! 😋
we have booked Aurora for 7nights in June 2023. I think we might have the wrong cabin. We are aft. Did you notice a vibration on the back of the ship. We think we should change to one around your cabin. Any thoughts.
We've never had a cabin at the aft of Aurora so are not sure what it would be like. Sometimes you can feel some vibrations at the aft, we did in rough seas on Regal Princess. Mid ship is always better, so if your budget stretches, maybe try and move more mid.
Loved this and how ?Luke got drunker and drunker as the video went on. And where did you put all that food! We’re going on the Aurora for a Christmas cruise in December so loving your up to date info on the ship. 🥰
my wife and I are soon going for a short cruise here. Have been laughing watching your video . Am worried there won't be any alcohol left on the ship though.
Great vid guys. Silly question, can you bring your own alcohol onboard (G&T) as seen in your vid? I thought they scanned your bags before you boarded? 🛟🚢🥃
Yes you can bring alcohol onboard either a bottle of wine or up to 1L of spirits per person. You can bring as much soft drink as you like so it’s easy to bring say a bottle of gin and some tonic cans.
So sorry to hear about your friend ❤️ Thank you for sharing this vlog, id not really considered Auora for our next cruise until now, shes a beautiful ship, lots of character & charm. You pair really are entertaining!, have you tried 19 crimes red? Its 👌 Unfortunately the glass house wasn't open in april on brittania, was really disappointed.
Awww, thank you. Yes, she really is a beautiful ship! Yes we like the 19 crimes range (just don't try the coffee one, that's not good!). Aww yes, that would be disappointing as it's one place we love, even as a bar but the little plates of food are so good too.
hello, we are on Aurora next year, looks way better than i thought it would for an older ship. Does they still do the app based dining on the older ships so you can join a virtual queue?
Oh fab! Yes, for a 23 year old ship, she’s looking fab! We loved her and are back on her for a short cruise again next year! While we were onboard the app was still in use, not sure if still now though.. but being a small ship it was optional really even then, if you have anytime dining, just go when ready and they’ll hand you a pager (or use the app). Speciality restaurants you can book in person or on the phone. Shows we wouldn’t worry about booking for as there is always space for walk ins.
Enjoying for first vlog of the series. You both make me laugh, you do enjoy yourselves. Think you were drunk before you sailed out of Southampton? Good on you. Aurora looks fab. I was going on her in 3 weeks time, but P & O cancelled 2 cruises next month. Going on Iona again instead. It makes me want to try and book again. Look forward to the next part.
Awww thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Ah yeah, some of her June ones were cancelled for some dry dock work? You wont be disappointed with Iona as she is fab but definitely try fit in an Aurora cruise again if you can!
A week today and we are on our first cruise this year hopefully. I believe as we get off you get on, Sky Princess. A quick question, if you have the WiFi package do you still have to turn on your aircraft app ?
Have a fantastic time! Look after her for us as like you say, we're on the one following yours. Yes, pop your phone to aeroplane mode but then turn on the wifi only. They also have an Ocean Medallion area where staff are on hand to help you get set up, so pop along there if you are unsure. Have a fantastic cruise!
Heya Boys good to see you all at sea again ;-) So question - Plug sockets - How does the sort of socket relate to the ship - Does it tend to be registration/home port /ownership of the line? PS do you normally use the safe?
It tends to be cruise line based, so all the P&O ships are UK sockets. Cunard and Princess American. Emma Cruises actually has a page that lists all the sockets for ships! The safe is where we keep our wallets and passports, but only so we know where they are.
Aurora was our first ever cruise in 2014…. It’s where we got engaged and has some very special memories for us. We hope you enjoy this Vlog!

Wow - this ship’s looking fantastic for 22 years old - so nice to see the older ones being taken such good care of!
We agree, totally changed our perspective that ships don't have to be big and new. :)

Been on Aurora a few times, last time in 2019 doing the Northern Lights, sat in that beautiful crows nest watching the most amazing scenery.
Oh yes, we can imagine that, beautiful!

Make the most of her as she will probably go soon 🥲
You are probably right, but lets keep our fingers crossed they keep her a little longer - we may see one of the larger family ships go first.

Shes really is lovely! Yes, this one was the early May cruise too :)
You guys so fun 😀
Aww, thanks :)
Lovely ship. Very elegant and traditional, the sort of ship I admire. I am not at all keen on the Las Vegas ships. They are not for me, but I could see myself on this one.
Thank you for the video!
We agree, its a beaut! Thanks for watching, enjoy the next episode.
Fantastic review. Had many amazing cruises on Aurora 😁
She’s beautiful 😍
Great vlog yet again. We are back in Aurora next year having been on her in 2017. It really looks lovely. Enjoy the rest of your cruise x
Thank you! She really is so lovely!
Enjoyed that thanks for sharing. She looks a lovely traditional ship especially the aft with that pool. Maybe try in a few years without the kids. Look forward to next one.
Yes, she really is a lovely ship :) Thanks for watching :)
That Black Shiraz looked amazing!!
It is very yummy ;)
New subscriber here, searching Aurora as sailing on her in October and found your channel, you guys are hilarious, love the way you put the vlog together and the drinking was legendary.
Welcome aboard! Glad you enjoyed the video, we like to try and bring you along with us! Have a fantastic time on her in October! :)
Hi guys, a great first vlog. ( I would not have liked being your head the next day Luke haha!!!!!!!)
Got to agree with you Aurora is a lovely ship, even if the rooms are now a little dated.
So glad you enjoyed the vlog! A bit of Dolly was great. Highly recommend getting something booked on her as shes a little beaut!
Looks a lovely ship. I work as ground crew but never been on board. I saw you in the baggage hall the morning you disembarked. Keep the vlogs coming guys.
She really is :) Haha, we're usually the last ones off so it's easier to find the cases ;)
Lovely ship Aurora smaller and intermit similar to princesses Sun class which we have sailed on many times. P&O Pacific Explorer leaves Sydney on the 31st the first cruise in over 2 years we're excited have a great time.
She's a lovely little ship. Great to hear cruising is finally restarting down with you - brilliant news!
Aurora was our first ship too and she got us hooked on cruising. We're back on her this August to Iceland, can't wait 😀
Ohhh, fabulous. Lovely ship to do Iceland on.
I was holding my breath watching that....
Yaaaay my faves are back!! So glad you didn’t keep us waiting long before your next adventure. A drunk Luke and QR Code Gavin are the best 🤣
Aurora looks a lovely cosy ship, she may have to be added to our list.
Sorry to hear about your friend Sian, life can be so unfair but you did a great job with your vlog for her❤️
Hahaha! She really is a lovely little ship!
Awww thank you - we did think about her quite a bit on this cruise :)
We did 19 days before your cruise Nice to see inside your cabin We had a delux on B Deck bigger and much bigger and open balcony def worth the extra money It was our 32nd PO cruise but first on Aurora loved the ship So much better than the bigger ships
She's a lovely little ship. Oh yes, we know the one, curating through the middle of the room, we had one of them our first time on Aurora, lovely.
Loving your videos your thoughts and insights are funny and truthful and you really do make people want to cruise booked iona for next September first cruise
Aww, thank you! Have a fantastic time on Iona, she really is a nice ship, you'll be blown away for your first cruise!
Guys we love your vlogs so much fun
Thank you so much :D
Thankyou loved it x
Glad you enjoyed it
We had our Aurora Christmas cruise cancelled and was so disappointed, looks a lovely ship, hope to get on board one day!
Awww, that's such a shame. Definitely need to get one booked up! :)
I quit like a traditional interior… It’s definitely a romantic looking ship 👍
Its a beautify little ship, it will be a sad sad day when she goes.
Loved Jolene. You're as good a singer as me 🤣
hahaha :)
Hi both,
Just come home from Iona !
Hope you enjoyed as much as us! Oh yes, we were very emotional on our first cruise after the restart! :)
Awesome guys I never being on cruise before , looking forward to one in November going from Croatia 15days
Croatia is beautiful! You'll have a fantastic time! Who you sailing with?
@@CruiseMonkeys not sure yet soon as I find out will let u know , visiting Dubrovnik to budva & sveti Stefan
Love watching you two 😁 I'm on this cruise in July, can't wait!
Thank you! Have a fantastic time and we hope the sun is shining for you too in Guernsey!
@@CruiseMonkeys thank you 😘 when is episode two??
Friday night 7pm! 😉❤️
Very enjoyable blog, Aurora was our first cruise on her maiden season with ( Mandy).
We have stayed in C226 and did enjoy our upgrade.
Have D298 for November 28 nighter, so really looking forward.

Bruce ( Llangennech)
She really is so pretty - loved her! The Glass house is one of our faves too!
Enjoy
Thank you!
we have booked Aurora for 7nights in June 2023.
Love u guys .. if your ever in Newcastle we should go out for a dance 😆
Awww thanks 🥰
I bloody love a happy drunk! 🤣🤣
Don't we all :D
Loved this and how ?Luke got drunker and drunker as the video went on. And where did you put all that food! We’re going on the Aurora for a Christmas cruise in December so loving your up to date info on the ship. 🥰
Glad you enjoyed the throw backs to our first cruise! We'd love to do a Christmas cruise, it would be amazing, have a great time!
Yes they really should blow out those bathrooms and upgrade to new ones. Shower curtain is worst I know 😂
Completely agree 🤣
You can come to this karens club If you like 🤣 .. I'm glad you're back, so funny
Hahah. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting and watching!
Glad I brought gaviscon! 🤣
It's a must on a cruise!
My first cruise as well was Aurora 😊
Awww :) She's a lovely ship, can see why we fell in love with cruising after that first cruise.
my wife and I are soon going for a short cruise here. Have been laughing watching your video . Am worried there won't be any alcohol left on the ship though.
Don’t worry, they’ve had time to restock! Have a fab cruise!
So sorry to hear about your friend ❤️
Thank you for sharing this vlog, id not really considered Auora for our next cruise until now, shes a beautiful ship, lots of character & charm.
You pair really are entertaining!, have you tried 19 crimes red? Its 👌
Unfortunately the glass house wasn't open in april on brittania, was really disappointed.
Awww, thank you.
Yes, she really is a beautiful ship! Yes we like the 19 crimes range (just don't try the coffee one, that's not good!). Aww yes, that would be disappointing as it's one place we love, even as a bar but the little plates of food are so good too.
Me again, lads. Aurora 2014 was our first cruise. Fjords. Just saying. Loved that boat, best if our 5 cruises.
Iona on the 28th...it's approaching.
Can see why as she really is lovely! Not long now, have a great time on Iona.
hello, we are on Aurora next year, looks way better than i thought it would for an older ship.
@@CruiseMonkeys Amazing. I ended up watching all 3 vids, so figured out it must be since you used it for breakfast!! A great watch, ta.
Aurora is No 1 nice ship.
She's beautiful!
Love this vlog! What time did you guys get to bed the first night? 😅
Thank you! We think it must have been around 2am.. so not too late!
Wen they release the ropes its call Singling up
Oh, thats good to know :)
Aurora looks lovely. Need to know what was the cocktail called that tasted like a Solero 😝 Mrs G would like to know.
Oh, that was the Passionstar Martini - was lovely!
@@CruiseMonkeys noted. On the list now 😂
