Thanks for watching! My apologies for the subtitles. I have some technical issues which I'm not able to solve to get it all right. There will be sometimes some missing pieces here and there 🙏 Please let me know what you thought of this video. Was it too long? Take a look at another one made in Thailand in the Chiang Rai Province: th-cam.com/video/E9NYO5zyBJQ/w-d-xo.html
Most underrated country in southeast Asian countries. I love the low key vide and real authentic cultures and folks there are nice and honest. Been there once and looking forward to visit again in the future
Your content is amazing 🎉 Please don't worry about if your videos are good, they are amazing! There will always be people that will want shorter videos, longer. It's YOUR channel! You will only grow more. The combination of interviews, trips with Noona, & meeting new people to go into their lives and explore is so wonderful!!! Keep up the amazing work!! This was great to see raw 😊footage interaction. That gentleman with you was so kind, looked like so much fun with all those people. 🎉
I'm retired, living in Chiang Mai, with little else to do in the evenings, so you got me, for one, watching all of your videos from beginning to end. Long or short, I enjoy them all.
My father lives in Phon Phisai 20KM from Mekong away, in a village like this, Thai side. You might know that Isaan people are very similar to Lao, they speak the same language, other dialect. It remembers me the times I go to this region. We also visit quite often Lao! Very nice, I understood some words of the ladies at the showering Karabao. Very nice video
Awesome video Chai, Laos is such a great country, it is worth ( in any country) to look inside the real life of the local people - the respectful behavour is important as a traveler ! Lucky you Chai👍it is an unique event, sharing genuine Lao food together with a little party✌❤
One of your most authentic videos! Laos is perfect for exploring real local life. As a foreigner living in laos and speaking the language, its super fun in rural places. Most welcoming people. Love it - welcome to Laos 🇱🇦🙏
I really enjoyed watching this video. You really showed how happy and hospital Lao people are. The video wasn't too long at all. Looking to seeing more videos like this!
I love this video, Chai!! This is how we visit these areas, getting to know the locals - just look out for the Lao Lao whisky Blow your head off Bro. The longer format is good. Loving your work 👍👍
Well captured scenes of beautiful country and its people. It is very tough for Laos and Burma. At least there is peace in Laos. Huge tracts of land to be properly cultivated there with modern equipment.
Loved this video. So familiar with these types of adventures having spent plenty of time staying around the wife's family farm in Thailand back in the day. Most viewers would not have had such an experience and it really is intriguing. Great idea Chai and love to see similar videos in the other SE Asian countries. Cheers mate 🤩
So heartwarming to hear you had such experience with your wife Steven 🥰 them barbecues are just incomparable to the barbecues back home. Thanks again mate and have a great evening
@@Chai_Travel Don't worry too much about length of video especially when doing these types of adventures as they are so interesting and most people really would get right into it. 30-40 minutes about perfect and the content flows nicely. The Laos culture in so many ways appears to be just like that in Thailand and even the language there appears to have similarities.
Ey mate, I’ve just noticed I’ve missed this reply! I hardly get notifications when people do reply so you know it’s not intentional 😋 thanks so much for your motivational words ❤️
Excellent a true reflection of how Lao people welcome us foreigners having lived & worked in Laos for several years I can confirm you’ll find such hospitality in all rural Lao villages wonderful people…!!!
Can I have a chat with you. I born from there and move to USA for better life and going back to visit. What is there to do or what to watch out. I was there til 2013 and coming back tryna get the best out of it im there for 2 weeks
Great job; it's what we like! Something completely different and authentic. So nice way to discover a country but also to meet locals. More, more....Groetjes!
Love this authenticity of Laos. Yok Yok (Cheers) always. 😊 Heading back home in September to visit Luang Brabang for the first time. Thanks for your rec of that sunset cruise.
My wife comes from the Isan region in Thailand where the people describe themselves as Lao. I would venture that the folks over the river in Laos are very similar if not the same. It certainaly looks that way as small village life in Isan is very similar to this. It's a wonderful cultural experience as a farang to be able to be part of this environment as the approach to life is very different to what westerners are accustomed to. I appreciate your efforts. It can be difficult capturing these experiences without it looking like visiting a cultural park or a zoo of some sort. Respect for the culture is paramount.
This video makes me smile and miss Laos a lot. I'm going back this December. I got a house in Tha Ngon 22.9 km outside of Vientiane, Laos. Thank you for making this video.
Good video about local Lao People, i've also family there btw not all people in Lao eat Dog it's not common and very rare, I never seen myself family, relatives, or in the markets dogs or cats for eating (I travelled a lot there from Paksé to Luang Prabang) it's generally the case of Lao with Mountains Ethnicity or some with other Ethnicity, some of 'em eat Rats, Bats, etc
Fabulous video Chai - watched it from beginning to end. What a find your guide was! Make more long form content :-) We have travelled quite a bit in South East Asia and are currently splitting our time between Vietnam and Thailand so we will be sure to head to Laos soon.
No.. Not looking because Laos is so interesting, looking because your channel is 😁 😂 Me and hubby been watching a long time, we are now in Cambodia and PP. 😍 Mostly because of you TH-camrs ❤️ and of course the history. But Laos is also fascinating! And we LOVE this type of content and length. You also are showing your humble and maybe a bit shy side, like when you are alone with them 🤭 so cute! Stay Champ Chai ( and Noona) ❤️🙏
This was great, Chai! Hope you keep doing these ones from time to time. I don't mind the length. Hope you're taking some time for yourself on occasion, too!
Thanks Will! This was actually a very nice day and made a friend for life 🥰 Mr Tungchai stole the show. Good the know mate and I’ll take a day or two of from tonight as will be Noona’s birthday 🥳 have a good day. Cheers!
Seriously, you could make this video longer, and I would still enjoy it. I never knew that Laos is a beautiful country. I loved seeing the original slow daily life in the village, rather than the fast paced video.
Thanks. I get tired of vloggers who show the same hot spots . I found I had a smile on my face watching this video because of your interactions, the friendliness of the locals and that amazing guide. The overall vidoe is very good but in terms of time it could be 5 -10 min shorter, IMHO. Also, what camera do you use?
I am an ex pat Kiwi and have lived in a village10km north of Pakxan for the last decade. Your view of the Lao is very accurate. I farm a small organic block with my wife's family. If you are interested in passing on non chemical ways of dealing with pests I have some advice for you that will help
9.20am Aus, 2/9/24.. this was the most fantastic vlog i've seen!.. for me this show's the real experience of a country, not just tourist hot spots.. how wonderful were the people!.. never seen you b4 but were willing to stop there day n show you there life.. simple but happy!.. seeing this gives me some hope for the world.. please, more videos like this!.. brilliant!
Much appreciated Paul! Some of the greatest people living “just” in the country side. I’m glad you enjoyed this mate. Hopefully I’ll be able to do another off the beaten track again someday soon :) have a good one 🏆
"Just want to share, at 34:26, the woman who accompanied you both to the market mentioned that the 1.4 kilos of chicken purchased were priced very high, at 150,000 Kip. She felt this was an unfair instance of price gouging, likely taking advantage of you as a foreigner. Bless her heart, I could hear in her voice, in the background, how bad she felt about the whole thing. Even though I was born in Laos, each time I visit, I sadly end up letting my cousins buy everything for me. I know that to you, the price may not affect the experience, but it clearly left an impression on her. Traditionally, men and women will not share the eating platform, and breaking that tradition is always a good thing, in my opinion."
Thanks so much for taking the effort to explain all this. I understand wherever I go people may take advantage of me, not knowing the languages and just by looking different. One part of me wants to pay the local price as I see myself equally to whoever I meet. The other part wants to pay a price which benefits them more than usual, because it seems (in a way) more fair to do so. As long people stay respectful, are not pushy, and smile, I'm happy to pay a little more (to support). I love the fact we made it happen so men and women were eating and sitting together 🥰
Thanks for watching! My apologies for the subtitles. I have some technical issues which I'm not able to solve to get it all right. There will be
