I'm not finished watching yet but this video is SO awesome, you clearly did your research and have good sources and I LOVE the way you talk about the members. You don't headcanon or say anything sensationalistic about their personalities, you talk about them like people that have identities beyond their music and their jobs. Again, awesome video!

I believe when somebody puts as much effort into a video as you did, then I can put a bit of effort into writing a meaningful and grateful comment! 🥰
“GingaMingaYo” was the first song and video that I saw. The music alone is so catchy and cheerful that I would love it anyway, but the video adds layer upon layer of complexity. I could write an entire essay about the video itself, as it is a work of art!
For example: Near the end, when they are all grouped around a table with a typewriter on it, there’s a close-up shot of the “?” key, we see a dim figure typing, there’s a close-up of the typed paper, “eil11ib” is repeated many times, and the very last thing that’s typed is “What are you?” The typewriter ribbon is running low on ink, so that the W and H are very difficult to read and some of the other letters are partially faded as well including the top half of the “?” This is very mysterious and thought-provoking!
Here are some thoughts that were provoked in my head. There probably are some questions that can be answered by whoever created the video, but I am completely fine with leaving it a mystery.
-Why is “bi11lie” spelled backwards? Why is the first letter not capitalized? Or, why was the B not capitalized?
-Why is “What are you?“ spelled properly and not backwards?
-Why is the English alphabet used instead of Korean writing?
-The repetition of the group name followed by “What are you?“ - Who is typing this? Is the typist writing his or her own thoughts, or is he or she the secretary for the person who has these thoughts? Who is this person? A group member? The Cyclops Bunny?
-Why “What are you?” instead of “who are you?” or “why are you?”
-Is the “you” singular or plural eg. does it refer to the group, or to each individual who is a part of the group?
-Why is the typewriter ribbon considerably more worn out for the “What are you?”?
So many questions!
Bonus: Why did I decide to focus on that instead of 50 other things I could have focussed on? 😂 I have no idea!
“Eunoia” is so pleasant to listen to and is very mysterious at the end of the video with the changing symbols! I’m looking forward to finding out how it fits in with the lore.
The school girls in uniform dancing in the hallway and on the indoor basketball court/school gym was pioneered by Britney Spears’ breakout hit when she was 16-17 years old in 1998 “Baby one more time”. (In North America, only private school students wear a uniform. Private schools at that time were almost always only for upper middle-class children because the free public school system was also good, but not exclusive.)
Britney is one of the most natural and most charismatic performers I’ve ever seen. She’s also an absolutely superb dancer although since I have started watching K-pop approx 2 months ago, I think K-pop choreography is a lot more intricate. Apparently Britney’s most difficult choreography is a song she performed with Madonna (2004) called “Me against the music.” Probably Britney’s most iconic of all time is “Slave 4 U” (2001). (Look up “Boys, Slave - Live performance, ABC special” for different choreography.
Actually, you can also see on TH-cam the entire ABC special called “In the zone“! It also includes “Me against the music“ and “Toxic“, which some people think is more iconic than “Slave.“ By the way, that song is about music lovers and dancers being a slave to the music. This is meant in a fun way, as an escape from daily troubles, unlike the controversial-at-the-time early 20th century ballet called “Rite of spring.“)
Look up Britney’s performances at the Video Music Awards (VMA) in 1999, 2000 and 2001 (this is “Slave 4 U” - trigger warning: it involves a big live snake) for examples!
Britney also came to Korea and did a concert with BoA in 2003! There is an hour long video of the TV special on TH-cam!
Back to Billlie! “Ring ma Bell” has rock music! It reminded me instantly of badass women singers in the early 1980s. I’m sure Billlie’s costumes are inspired by Joan Jett’s “Bad reputation” and “I love rock ‘n’ roll” - this music video starts off playing “Bad reputation” as an intro - very unusual!
As to who my favourite Billlie member is, I just can’t bring myself to choose a favourite! I have the same trouble with every group. As I’m old enough to be their mother, I’m best at encouraging all the individuals, and the group together.
I strongly believe that in each group, each member is unique and her contribution is essential to the group as a whole. The group is better together than each individual is on her own. This applies to all well-functioning groups. There is a famous quote by the ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle: “The whole is more than the sum of its parts.”
The time that we see them performing on stage or in a video is only a fraction of the time they spend together. What happens off-camera is vitally important to the group’s cohesion and morale.
For example: Who is the girl the others turn to for support when they’re homesick? Who is the one who always has an extra stash of food they’re not supposed to eat and shares it with everyone? Who is the one who can make a sad person laugh by drawing silly pictures or telling a joke?
Being part of a group that has really good chemistry, where everybody gets along,
everybody respects each other and encourages each other, and one can be oneself is one of THE joys of life! I have been fortunate to experience such groups in school, in sports, and at work. Some have lasted for only a few weeks (eg. a school project) to several years, but I treasure all the memories!
Watching a group like Billlie is very heartwarming!

I followed these gurls since 2019 when mystic rookies were announced and i can say its very accurate. But yeah a few things were off. No hate I absolutely loved the video but are suhyeon and sua on hiatus in 2023 because my friends keep telling me that billlie has 5 members because two of them are on hiatus so can you guys please tell me😔😔😔
Billlie has 7 members but Moon Sua and Suhyeon have been on hiatus for a while: Suhyeon has been on a health hiatus for medical reasons since June, and Sua has been on hiatus since September because of the death of her brother. This is why their latest comeback only had 5 members instead of all 7 🥰💖
