billlie feels like a passion project. it's clear that the people working on this group (including of the members of course) are putting a lot into making something unique. i don't stan, but it's very impressive.
Billlie is one of those groups that had such an enigma. They have all of this talent and all of this amazing music and content, yet they are underrated. Like how... well because of their circumstances, they were in, and the fact many people didn't like their experimental sound with RingXRing. Like so many people didn't like their production or sound of their debut, which got me super upset because that sound was so good and really helped distinguish their musical identity unlike some groups they are still trying to find it. Billlie has a consistent production team, the company allows all members to flourish, and has a healthy vocal sound with them having the 3rd best vocal line in 4th Gen K-pop Girl Groups. STAN Billlie
I can proudly say I always Belllie’ved in Billlie Their growth was inevitable just bad timing. Even then for a rookie group pulling a couple mil is impressive especially from a no name company All the doubters proven wrong in the end
@@258Loures Weeekly has Monday, who is really carrying them vocals. There is still a gap between her and the other two members in the vocal line. She is an exceptional good vocalist. Soeun is decent vocalsit who keeps improve and i know she will get better (love her voice), and Jihan is quite weak vocally (when she sang that IU cover with Chaehyun and Haewon at the Dream Concert last year both girls overshadowed Jihan and had better control than she did). While Billlie has two good vocalist and one decent vocalist in their vocal line. If we were to still go with the stop 5 most popular vocal lines in 4th Gen Girl Group vocal lines it would be: 1. NMIXX 2. AESPA 3. Billlie 4. Weeekly 5. Purple Kiss Weeekly is still up there, but their vocal lines are not as consistent as the ones above them.
not really they just need grow and focus their own potential and concept...they have many tv reality program promotion...if u compare than other gg already 4-5 years and u still dont know they are exist and have so much talent
I think a group like billlie is something kpop has been missing since ages. I haven't really been enjoying experimental, weird and quirky kpop music ever since rv dropped that sound so seeing a rookie group doing it so flawlessly blew me away. I'm literally listening to their music 24/7 and i even got in the 0,5% of their listeners last year and it's the first time this happened to me with a group after loona which are literally my ults of ults. Also the group has freaking insane stage presence, they are one of, if not the, best groups of this generation when it comes to stage presence; you can see how much they enjoy doing what they're doing and you gotta appreciate them for that
You need to listen to more than the top groups. GWSN just disbanded a few months ago because people like you only care when group does some idiotic TikTok trend for attention instead of making full songs.
I'm sitting here shocked that you said a lot of people didn't like RingxRing. That song is so unbelievably good. When I first heard it, I thought it sounded like FX and Red Velvet mixed together. And I mean the experimental part of D.C. and both the Red and Velvet part of Red Velvet and it worked so well. I've been watching all of their teasers and I'm so excited for their comeback. I just really hope people discover them and give them a chance. Thank you for making this video.
Thing is, RINGxRING is dissonant; I think that's what was putting a lot of people off. Those chords should not work. They are irritating, annoying, and make you high-strung and nervous. And yet... this is exactly what the song is trying to convey: the girls' alarm, their guilt and discomfort. It is brilliant (and even more so if you do care about lore). I instantly fell in love with it, but I can see why some would not. If you want relaxing music, RINGxRING isn't it. And if you don't bother to look beyond the superficial, you will likely think the song makes no sense.
I thought my music taste was already quite distinct bc I liked O.O and many other weird songs but it was hard for me to get into ringxring 😭 but I loved gongamingayo
I haven't even watched the video, but I already know it's going to be amazing. I 100% agree with the title; Billlie has a flawless discography, really talented members, and an amazing lore too, but they don't get nearly enough recognition as they deserve (even when their company is owned by SM...). They reallly are the best exmaple of ''Talent ≠ Popularity''
Billlie has been my ult group since i discovered them when i was watching everglow up video about ranking the 4th gen stage presence. When I watched that video I thought, who the heck can topped Le Sserafim stage presence, and lo and behold I discovered Billlie. I am a musician and kind of a tradisionalist in a sense that I like a music that can be produced by playing it physically, so my entry in Kpop is kind of hard. Billlie's discography makes me falls in love with Kpop. Each of Billlie's members are so talented and their discography is top notched it made me started to listened to other talented groups that are not from a big company (Like Fifty Fifty and Pixy).
pixy is also sooo underrated! the four groups you mentioned (lsf, billlie, pixy and fifty fifty) are my favorite 4th gen groups because of how unique their sound is and how great performers they are
@@cabbagejuice this is my opinion, but i kinda understand that not everyone will like Pixy, because they took the darker concept to the next level. Billlie has a similar unsettling vibe with their Ring X Ring, but Pixy took it to the next level with every comebacks. Wings has that Ella's scream, Let Me Know has the choreo where Dia being sacrificed, Addicted has Dia being buried in the MV, Bewitched has that upside-down choreo with that long-ass vocal fry. Villain literally has gun fights, and Karma has that creepy dolls. While Billlie only has Ring X Ring in term of creepiness. The other songs are more to the strangeness aspect. Billlie and Pixy is my 2 ult group right now because they always produced great music and I hope that they can continue for a long time
Ikr even tho Billlie are my ults, I don't want them to have a total comeback because of Sua. They should give her the proper time. I understand they cannot go an year without comebacks, but don't include her in it. Your brother passing away is one of the most mentally crushing things ever. I just want her to be fine before coming back to this.
Idk how it happened, but I managed to discover them when they were still known as Mystic Rookies, like a couple weeks before they announced the groups name to be BILLLIE. And I've never been hooked on a predebut group before, but those listen stages that were on Mystic Story's official channel hooked me in. I love hearing untouched live vocals. I'm happy to say I was there since predebut
flipping a coin is my kpop "come to jesus" moment. it was a religious experience every time i listened to it. by far, my fav b-side track of all time. what makes this group so great is their chemistry. they have their own lingo & inside jokes, like they have been friends for years before they even debut. also, every single member has an immaculate stage presence. every time i see their live performance, i couldn't take my eyes away, even for a second. they just have that aura about them. they have their own unique sound that remain consistent throughout all of their releases, yet their discography is also incredibly diverse, even with their lead singles. there's truly no other group like billlie.
I just went through a whole billlie trailer/film to understand their lore more. Tbh their lore is unmatched. I understand we have LOONA, but billlie’s lore is just so extremely original it’s something different. The amount of diversity in their discography is also amazing. The amount of different concepts they have are amazing, but one thing I like is that their songs/MV mix well together despite being SOOOO different. The lore videos also help. But in conclusion STAN BILLLIE!
@@fictionalfinesse im sure it was their chapters! they have them for each comeback. the best way to get started with learning their lore is definitely by watching chapter 1 and 2! to find them you can just search up “billlie chapter”!
@@fictionalfinesse to anyone who wants to check Billlie out, I have some playlists here which covers all eras MVs: th-cam.com/play/PL9fH1l6nd7oEfCctODuOWMbcuAlkJgdq8.html Lore: th-cam.com/play/PL9fH1l6nd7oG9QU10m3OyxZ5ZzElTbzxg.html 1M Studio performances: th-cam.com/play/PL9fH1l6nd7oHJ2RFROCmpDTGvR2NylgqW.html you can tell me playlist requests regarding Billlie if you want to.
AGREE. Billlie has so much talent, music is immaculate, diverse concepts, CONTENT, unique style, storyline... Everything. EVERYTHING. This comeback they better be more apprecciated.
There's a video of them live in Texas on stage at a super tiny little location, I believe only 200 people could fit in the room. The stage was probably 10 x 10 and my goodness, performing live is their expertise. On a massive stage in front of thousands in Korea, on a Korean show performing or even in on a tiny little stage in Texas, they know what to do. Extremely impressed by their stage presence, dancing abilities and overall look and sound. Truly underrated group but I'm excited for more to come by them.
billlie is constantly pushing boundaries and self improving. i can't tell the last time i was so sure i was gonna love a group's comeback like i feel with their next release!! they've YET to release a bad song with a mid concept and they CERTAINLY don't intend to start now ☺☺💞
Some of their songs are made by minGtion, who is one of thr most prolific composers right now! She knows how to incorporate jazz sounds into a pop song!
So my absolute favorite band growing up in the mid-2000’s was My Chemical Romance. MCR were known for their concept albums with an intricate storyline woven throughout the lyrics. They had incredible artwork for each of their albums as well as interesting and thought provoking song titles like “Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough for the Two of Us” and “You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison” etc etc… Sound familiar? Billlie for me is this odd second coming of MCR for me in my kpop world. They’ve brought back everything I loved about music back in the day…just with more dancing lol And you know what’s crazy? My ult ult kpop group is BTS but I only ever bought 1 version of their albums. Billlie album artwork is so good that I decided to start collecting. I have every version of every album, plus I just preordered all 3 versions of the upcoming album plus both versions of the upcoming Japanese release! This is just so wildly out of character for me lol I always found it to be a waste of money. But here I am…ready to give Billlie everything I’ve got as a fan to help them succeed. God bless Billlie.
holy shit the mcr/billlie comparison blew my mind because you are ABSOLUTELY right. mcr flew under the radar for a LONG time in the emo scene and didn't really hit their stride until their massive lore drop album, the black parade. our girls are going to get their black parade SOON. they're too talented and passionate not to.
So I'm old by kpop fan standards (in my 30s), and when I was in high school MCR was blowing up big time and I fell in love with it, same as I did with groups with concept albums, like Green Day's American Idiot, or groups with those kind of long titles like Fall Out Boy and early Panic! At The Disco. As I got into my 20s that progressed into a love for heavy metal with similar themes. Now since I've gotten more into kpop in the last 2 years, I've been drawn towards groups with "theatrics" so to speak with a more overarching story. Your comment really broke down exactly why I ended up feeling drawn towards these aspects and why I love Billlie specifically, so thank you!
I’ve been into Kpop for almost a decade, and Collective Soul and Unconscious is one of the TWO only Kpop CDs I own. I’m very excited they are going to come back and I hope they continue to get good funding/treatment. I enjoy that their comebacks aren’t super frequent, it’s just enough to build anticipation and it seems like they’re (hopefully) not being overworked
I can't say enough how much I love them as a vocal group. They have 2 component main vocalists (a power house vocalist and a vocal storyteller) in one group with an exceptional main rapper who is a decent vocalist as well. Siyoon has great timbre that is appealing and soothing to hear. Tsuki and Haruna may be the weakest vocally, but both of them are able to work off of each other so well. When I listened to their Japanese duet cover, I was extremely impressed. When Sheon was added, I didn't know how her vocals would be implemented to the group since they already seemed complete. Yet, her piercing tone added so much color to the group, and she is so good at blending with Moon SuA and Siyoon. Their vocals are just so amazing, and do justice to each of their songs that make people not only appreciate them as singers but also allow people to appreciate the music itself too. I love Billlie. One of my top 10 favorite vocal groups in K-pop.
IMO, Tsuki has one of the prettiest vocal colours I ever heard. She literally sounds like a bell. Maybe she is not technically nowhere near Haram's level, but she adds so much to the mix.
@@AmadanMath I hear what you are saying I know many people don't like the cutsey voice most idols use, but I don't mind it I know that Japanese idols like Nako, Hitomi, and Sana use this voice and they sound fine in the groups songs. It just depends on what you prefer most. Some like a powerhouse like Haram and some like a sweet high soprano voice like Tsuki.
I also like Siyoon's singing voice.🐯 Her voice has a clear outline and a gorgeous spread that seems to have been layered with high-quality effects from the beginning, and it looks very attractive. Billie is the group that I pay the most attention to and support🦉💜💙⌣̈⃝ ♡ ⌣̈⃝ ♡
Billlie’s sounds are more akin to Japanese edm, citypop or Vocaloid. idk it gives me that vibe esp with RingXRing and Gingamingayo, and their b sides are more citypop they remind me of Reol, GigaP, HoneyComeBear something you would play in a Rhythm game which is usually composed of Japanese songs i love Billlie, i hope they have a big boom in popularity more than their gingamingayo era
oooh yeah, i was really feeling the citypop vibe with eunoia. this whole new ep lives in that space a lot and it makes for a perfect springtime record, honestly.
I think it doesn’t get stated enough how Billlie actually managed to maintain their popularity in spite of all the groups they’re competing with! Aespa and Itzy were always going to be big. StayC had a lot of success in 2022 while (G)I-DLE had their biggest year yet! IVE’s popularity exploded while Le Sserafim and NewJeans dominated the industry! Yet Billlie didn’t fall off. You could attest the success of “Gingamingayo” to Tsuki going viral for her fancams. The issue with having a viral moment like that is in how temporary it is. And if their success was really just because of GWSN’s old producer, they would’ve been massive since “Ring X Ring”. But in spite of how volatile viral success is, they managed to hold their ground in “Ring Ma Bell” era. A song that SHOULDN’T have been well received. We all know how KPop stans feel about Dreamcatcher’s rock influences and how girl groups that try those genres go under the radar (Pixy, Pink Fantasy, Rolling Quartz, etc.). It really shows that in spite of everything being against them, Billlie had managed to retain a strong enough fandom with a decent amount of public interest to have people tune into their comeback after GMY. The biggest mistake that anyone can make when it comes to Billlie is underestimating them. They could be like the next Mamamoo (a group that gives their peers from bigger companies some real competition)! Also, about the Red Velvet thing, aside from GMY being the love child between “Dumb Dumb” and “Zimzalabim”, I think a part of it has to do with how easily the members suit multiple concepts. A lot of people bash on Red Velvet for “lacking stage presence” or “being weak performers”. But what nobody gives them credit for is that they’re one of the few groups where all members can fit concept changes and not look out of place. Aside from GWSN, Billlie is the only group I’ve seen where this is the reality. Yes, you have some individual idols like Yeonjun of TXT, Soyeon of (G)I-DLE, Hikaru of Kep1er, etc. where individual idols can do this. But RV, GWSN, and Billlie are the only examples that I know of where the entire group is capable of doing so! And I think that’s where some of the comparisons originate. Okay, I’ve rambled on long enough. This was an amazing video! I hope that Billlie’s comeback isn’t overshadowed by some of their peers. Everyone be sure to at least give it a listen! ❤️
I'm one of those randoms that just saw Tsuki's viral fancam and listened to their song. I've yet to listen to their discography but I have it lined up and this just makes me more excited.
Billlie is my ult group ever since I first listened to their debut mini, it's the best debut mini I've heard in my 10+ years of listening to KPOP for me. They do not disappoint. All their songs are bops, and their fan songs are so cute...
Thank you Taeju for making this video! I vividly remember 2021 November-December when Ring x Ring came out. I was immediately blown away. I just feel so lucky to get Billlie’s music at the first listen. I jumped up with joy when i heard sheon would be joining billlie because I was rooting for her so much in gp999. Everyone please tune in to their upcoming comeback!
Billlie definitely is like Red Velvet in a sense that their quirky, experimental, versatility brand can be a Double-Edged Sword. Combined with no big company privilege, it makes it hard to them to grow casual listeners and gain mainstream attention.
I love their music it's so good Gingamingayo is good but I have to say that RING My Bell & EUNOIA are their best title tracks so far imo also I love all of the songs on their new EP The Billage of Perception Chapter 3. I love that they do so many different concepts and genres of music their ability to reinvent themselves and do different concepts is amazing they pull off every single one so well.
The thing about Billlie is that you can enjoy them without digesting everything that they do. If you're into lore, their storyline is one of the most intricate yet interesting in any Kpop lores. If you are just a music enjoyer, they sure have a lot to offer. The members share great dynamics in the group and it evidently shows when they designated their positions; 2 main vocals, 2 main rappers and 2 main dancers.
billlie reminds me of a nowadays red velvet. like for example, their titles like 'rbb' and 'peek-a-boo' reminds me a lot of billlies music because they are all so weird but yet so beautifully crafted that it just fits perfectly, you know? i really adore billlie and their strange and unique sound and i really want the best for them. i haven't heard the comeback yet,, im drowned in many things i have to listen too,, but with the bangers they've beenn pumping out it has to be a bop FS!! edit; i was writing this at like 8:00 before you were talking abt red velvet LMAO guess we're on the same wavelength
Ive just announced there new song that comes out tomorrow, literally days before billlie's new song 😭 I just hope they can still shine and don't get ignore again...
I’ve been a huge fan of Billlie since I first found Gingamingayo. I love how they incorporate the lore into their albums. Their albums are always aesthetically pleasing and always include a fan song. They are very talented and I really hope Billlie can get the same kind of attention as fifty fifty in their upcoming comeback.
thank you for making this video !! i really hope it goes viral because Billlie being underrated at this point i think is CRIMINAL they are not only one of the most crazy talented groups ive ever seen but everything about them is just so beautifully crafted i think it deserves to be applauded and appreciated
They literally have one of the best discographies in kpop, no skips, all of them are really talented, I know I'm being biased cuz they're one of my ults but they're really underrated and I hope this comeback will bring more fans, they deserve it... thx for making this video 🥺
I was so proud to be in the top 1% of Billlie Spotify listeners in 2022. They are just so unbelievably diverse, the production is excellent, and their voices and concepts are sooo unique
As an avid fan AND maker of alternative storytelling, I think people don't realize how insanely well crafted Billlie's lore is. The worldbuilding, the influences, the hint-giving pace is top notch, giving us just enough to build upon previous theories without ever being unsubtle. I love it so fucking much - and I really love that the girls take it and run with it so well. It gives space for the actual music-making while keeping that red thread linking everything and aaah I love Billlie so much
Absolutely agree with every word, billlie is an amazing group and I'm really glad more people are talking about them LETS GET THEM THEIR FIRST WIN, THEY DESERVED IT
Yes people who haven't discovered them yet are missing out!!! Damn the concept is so good and unique. Billlie is my ultimate favourite 4th gen gg! They are great and definitely BETTER in terms of performing capabilities than most of their contemporaries who are bigger than them at the moment
I totally agree! Billlie is seriously underrated, their discography is amazing and I love every single song they’re released. I loved gingamingayo, but started really listening to them when they had their last comeback, and haven’t stopped since then. As a musician, my fav groups are the ones who I know will always have great music, and Billlie is one of them, I love their unique and funky sound. I don’t pay super close attention to their storyline, but from what I know about it it seems really interesting. All Billlie members are so talented, and they deserve so much more recognition.
I completely agree with your take about Sheon being in Billlie as opposed to Kep1er. I mean I like Kep1er but she’s a much better fit for Billlie & Billlie is more suited to her as a performer in my opinion.
I found Billlie the same day they released Ring x Ring, it was my favorite song for so long. I don't understand how people don't like their music ESPECIALLY THEIR DEBUT?!?! Also I loveee Patbingsu. They are amazing performers, I hope they have more attention!
sheon fits so much better in billlie. ring x rings was an amazing debut and i will never understand the hate for it, when i first heard it i instantly got it!! but for me snowy night was what solidified their place in my heart and i became stan! then came gingamingayo and well people didn’t instantly like it either it wasn’t until tsuki’s viral fancam that people started paying attention to them and looking at their music more favorably, the bsides off of that album are probably my favorite. then came ring ma bell and i’m gonna be honest i knew i wasn’t gonna like it as much before like i heard the teasers it was the title for me 😭😭😭 like i hate the title there are just so many songs with that title, when the teasers started dropping i was actually starting to anticipate it and i’m not the biggest fan of the sound they came back with BUT they did it the best in my opinion. also during that era i started getting more sucked into their lore. oh and before that patbingsu was also a cute little bop we love the vibe, i actually love old korean songs and the concept and mv was just perfect for billlie. billlie is so unique from their discography to concept to their mvs and now we get to the talents. the vocals, the raps, the dance just perfection. and yeah even the album covers !! you get it !!! out of the 4th gen i only ult stayc and billlie with lesserafim being the third group i would consider stanning based on their next releases. when it comes to their lore, you mentioned aespa and people listen to aespa without caring about their lore i absolutely don’t care about the SMCU it’s like a million times more complicated than the billlie lore, billlie’s lore is just easy to follow and it reminds me of something that could be a CW teen drama, if i can listen to aespa while not understanding a single thing about their lore then people can listen to billlie without knowing their lore. i hope this video makes more people check them out 😂
Ring x ring was the song that got me back into kpop tbh. I remember most songs that came out at the same time sounded really generic to me and just the same as everything else really. When i heard ring x ring i was hooked. I feel like it really brought a fresh take. Gotta say i wasn’t super into the music that came after that from them but i’m hoping they explore this sound more in the future
Billlie genuinely changed my perception of Kpop. I was really falling out of loving 4th Gen music (even after Le Sserafim, IVE, etc…) just from stale sounding music. Then I saw Eunoia had dropped and thought “what the hell I’ll try out Billlie” It skyrocketed to my most played song, most played album, and now Billlie is on track to be my most listened to Kpop group out of everything on my Spotify. I tell everyone I know about Billlie. Their concepts, their choreo, their vocals, their MUSICALITY (no seriously their musicality is better than any veteran group I’ve listened to) is spectacular. I will never stop raving about Billllie.
I jumped into the billlie train as soon as Sheon joined because seeing her on gp999 I was craving to see more of her talent. No regrets till now. They are amazing
Loved Billlie ever since I heard there song “Snowy Night” it’s such an underrated song and I hope that song and the girls get more attention this year 🥲
I love Billlie too. I'm an Orbit who is thankful that Billlie's around now, so I have another group to turn to. I didn't love Ring X Ring when it came out, but I thought it was striking and strange. When Snowy Night came out, I said, "Now hold on. This is the same group?" I'm so impressed with their vocals and with the foundation and production that Mystic Story has given them. The atmosphere, the color. I hope they keep doing their thing.
Found Billlie through the viral Tsuki video. They definitely have a sound that it took me a few listens to catch onto, but now I'm hooked! I think what helps is when you start noticing how damn talented each member is. Rappers who could be a main or lead vocalist in other groups!? Some of the best choreography that others couldnt handle. They're, if not the best, one of the best performers in kpop right now, and they all have vocals which literally sound exactly like their studio recordings. This isn't even me being biased. These are just FACTS, they all can do everything and their discography proves that. They are definitely a group that once you're hooked, you're hooked forever.
I wanna talk about their album design bc omg they are so good, they give me such magical vibes especially the recent ones they give me reve festival vibes like they are WELCOMING INTO THEIR WORLD like they also have lore which makes it more interesting to me
i love billlie so much! their new cb is amazing. they constantly are improving and i love each and every one of their songs😭 they’re super underrated but hopefully this video along with others helps introduce them to new people!
bruh ring x ring saved my life. i'll always love these girls and their music. i can see them as the 'red velvet' of 4th gen because they switch up their music concepts for their comebacks and they also have banger b-sides. (this is coming from a reveluv btw) adding sheon to the lineup just made me love them more cuz she was one of my picks from gp999, so i'm with when you say you're happy she didn't make it to kep1er.
I always felt people sleeping on them was due to their debut title track being poorly received. When I first listened to it, I hated it (even though it’s grown on me a bit) but I liked their sophomore album and decided to revisit it in full a few months later; and I thought all of the B-sides on the billage of perception were solid! But a lot of people disliked RingXRing and just decided to write them off entirely, which is unfortunate. Because they’re one of the only 4th generation girl groups at the moment who have a neat, established, and well-thought out discography and concept. Great video 👽
i remember listening to brave a song for matilda for the first time and feeling like i discovered america and if that doesnt describe ur average experience while listening to billlie idk what does
Considering whos behind Billie makes a lot of sense this concept would work so well, I've been following the Billie since their debut and I'm really happy that they can pull it off so well. As for GWSN - their music is stellar but Wave is beyond terrible company, I don't blame Jungsu for leaving. I would honestly love to see Mystic Story take over the group once Wave bites the dust, I think Han Jungsu had a lot of love for GWSN, I think thats part of the reason why he decided to expose how bad the company treats them. I just love and support both groups and wish for the best.
Billlie actually can’t produce a bad song. Listening to the new song drops I literally am counting the days until they release. Even various and precious is amazing and ITS A FAN SONG like I actually can’t explain how much I love them
Honestly it makes me sad that these girls are underrated. As someone who was listened to them for a long time now, I can confirm that they have the best discography I had ever heard. I hope that in the future they will become more popular and have a lot of fans and everything bc they totally deserve this. Fighting Billlie let’s get you that first win with EUNOIA ‼️‼️
after watching this video last night i went to listen to the collective soul and unconscious bc the only song on that album that i listened to was gingamingayo (which was one of my favorite 2022 releases) and OMG IT'S LITERALLY SUCH A GOOD ALBUM EVERY SONG IS A BOP I ADDED EVERY SONG TO MY PLAYLIST now i need to listen to their other music
just listened to their "the billage of perception chapter 3" and i loved every single song on that EP so much that i went and listened to every bside and then watched this video, i was already a huge fan of their title tracks but their bsides are literally all good, i was amazed that tbop 3 had no skips. amazing video thank you for giving them the credit they deserve
For ppl interested the lore is basically: the girls feel guilty about locking up a friend (billlie) as a joke (or a reason idk yet), billlie then dissapeared and everyone is talking ab it (example: rumor (1st album)), but billlie was very helpful to them so they felt guilty, they lived with the guilt a while but they finally decided to go and find her, billlie is in an unconcious world so the girls need to travel there and they get better at it, ringxring is the story (in this mv they go to billlies house to find her finally) and all the comebacks are prequels. (she dissapears, they feel guilt, try to find her in unconcious world).
i've been a casual fan of billlie since gingamingayo, which is when i found out that's where sheon went after gpp999. i absolutely agree with how this entire group is filled with talented people who each stand out in their own ways. they have such a unique and interesting sound and i hope this video helps more people realize just how good they are!!
I am SO glad you are talking about them, they are truly a special group! Also, i bought their debut album (my second album ive ever bought) for the same reason you bought the collective soul and unconscious, the cover art looks mildly junji ito inspired and I just ADORE it❤️
The GWSN connection via producer is what it is. The shared hallmarks of mystical lore and overall querkiness are real. GWSN had a magical start but ultimately their company bailed. Another kpop tragedy.
Great video, thank you for your effort. I hope many people who aren't familiar with Billlie will watch this and give them a chance. They are my current favourite group, I haven't been this obsessed with a new group since 2018. They really are special and I wish more people were aware of that. Also, slight inaccuracy that I would like to correct: only Tsuki was an SM trainee. Haram won SM Everysing competition and received free vocal lessons for a year (?) as a prize, however she was not a trainee at the company
The first time I listened to their songs, I thought "Red Velvet x Dreamcatcher". It's weird but in a good inovative creative way, it's fun while dark, really mix-matching everything that's good in those two groups... But they're really more than this, they're their own thing, and they carry it with so much confidence and charisma, they're amazing 😍 I hope they can continue to put out more bangers
It's NO JOKE that it's MY TOP 1 TRACK ON SPOTIFY WRAPPED because I was SUPER OBSESSED with GINGAMINGAYO NONSTOP even if IT WAS ON LOOP EVERYDAY JUST BECAUSE IT'S INSANELY GOOD BANGING TRACK/ALBUM
Thank you for covering Billlie! I’ve been into them since predebut when I found one of their dance videos and I literally will talk my Kpop friends ears off about how fucking good Billlie is. Like no skip- not a single skip in their discography and even after their latest comeback, I can still say that. Even with their ballads/pop ballads, granted I’m a sucker for a good ballad. But I can’t praise them enough- and I want everyone to experience their music and lore. It’s not for everyone, but for those who get it… I wanna be friends lol
Every comeback is very different from the last just like RV and yes I like both groups and that's one the reasons. It's impossible to get get bored with the music they both produce, they both have albums filled with great tracks
billlie has been my ult group since i found them their music and choreography is so unique and its so amazing to listen to and the members are so cute i love them sm they definitely deserve so much more recognition and this comeback is already sounding amazing i know its gonna be so outstanding
Thanks for making this video!! I've been a fan of Billlie since early 2020 when they were still mystic rookies and I'm just so happy with all the effort mystic story is putting in for their concept and music, especially since most of them had to wait a really long time to debut. Each member is so talented and they all have different backgrounds too, like survival shows, yg, sm trainees, jpop, modelling, and dancing. They've gotten a lot of backlash for their music since ring x ring, and still do, but Tsuki going viral really helped them gain more attention. Sheon also really fit right into Billlie, and I love her. I love a sign ~ anonymous so much too! Everyone, please support their upcoming comeback! I really recommend checking out their lore too, it's so unique and intriguing
Ahh so glad you made a video on them. Agree with everything you said--they are so good!! My personal experience--I first discovered Billlie with Tsuki's viral fancam, but I didn't actually check out their music until a few months ago when they posted their "Moon Palace" dance practice. I fell in love with the song so hard that it was actually kind of embarrassing. I don't usually play songs on loop but this song lived rent-free in my head (along with the excellent choreo) for like a week. And then when I checked out their other music I couldn't believe how consistently good it was. I never thought that I would ever be as excited about a group as I was when I first started listening to Kpop, as my first and ult group is Red Velvet and they have such consistent and delightfully weird music and MVs--but these days I actually listen to Billlie more than I do RV, which is saying something. Not to mention that their storyline/lore is actually cohesive and meaningful, which I feel some companies don't pay much attention to and just add on as an afterthought. (No hate to other groups, I like quite a few groups with lore actually but sometimes I feel like their companies want lore to say that they have lore.)
Billlie is the group that got me into Kpop and they're STILL my favorite group, by far. It is an absolute disgrace that they don't get their proper flowers, considering how for me personally, their musical weirdness fits this perfect niche I never knew I was missing in my life. ESPECIALLY with their latest comeback, it is insane how underappreciated they are (I'm convinced Nevertheless literally rewired my brain because I have not been the same ever since). If you haven't given them a chance, PLEASE give Billlie a listen. They definitely aren't for everybody, but if you like music that you can literally FEEL IN YOUR BRAIN, you'll probably love them.
billlie feels like a passion project. it's clear that the people working on this group (including of the members of course) are putting a lot into making something unique. i don't stan, but it's very impressive.
I can proudly say I always Belllie’ved in Billlie
Their growth was inevitable just bad timing. Even then for a rookie group pulling a couple mil is impressive especially from a no name company
All the doubters proven wrong in the end
When we have Weekly, æspa, NMiXX, I can't see how they have the 3rd best vocal line of the 4th Gen.
@@258Loures because they have strong vocal line
@@258Loures Weeekly has Monday, who is really carrying them vocals. There is still a gap between her and the other two members in the vocal line. She is an exceptional good vocalist. Soeun is decent vocalsit who keeps improve and i know she will get better (love her voice), and Jihan is quite weak vocally (when she sang that IU cover with Chaehyun and Haewon at the Dream Concert last year both girls overshadowed Jihan and had better control than she did).
While Billlie has two good vocalist and one decent vocalist in their vocal line. If we were to still go with the stop 5 most popular vocal lines in 4th Gen Girl Group vocal lines it would be:
1. NMIXX
2. AESPA
3. Billlie
4. Weeekly
5. Purple Kiss
Weeekly is still up there, but their vocal lines are not as consistent as the ones above them.
not really they just need grow and focus their own potential and concept...they have many tv reality program promotion...if u compare than other gg already 4-5 years and u still dont know they are exist and have so much talent
Also the group has freaking insane stage presence, they are one of, if not the, best groups of this generation when it comes to stage presence; you can see how much they enjoy doing what they're doing and you gotta appreciate them for that
same they were my top 1 last year on spotify
You need to listen to more than the top groups. GWSN just disbanded a few months ago because people like you only care when group does some idiotic TikTok trend for attention instead of making full songs.
@pjnkfantasy i know, i loved gwsn since puzzle moon era, i'm still mad about how things went for them :/
I'm sitting here shocked that you said a lot of people didn't like RingxRing.
I LOVE RINGxRING
Thing is, RINGxRING is dissonant; I think that's what was putting a lot of people off. Those chords should not work. They are irritating, annoying, and make you high-strung and nervous. And yet... this is exactly what the song is trying to convey: the girls' alarm, their guilt and discomfort. It is brilliant (and even more so if you do care about lore). I instantly fell in love with it, but I can see why some would not. If you want relaxing music, RINGxRING isn't it. And if you don't bother to look beyond the superficial, you will likely think the song makes no sense.
I love the chaos and sound in ringxring idc what other ppl say its a banger
I thought my music taste was already quite distinct bc I liked O.O and many other weird songs but it was hard for me to get into ringxring 😭 but I loved gongamingayo
Exactly why I love it, I don’t think I can find a song like ring x ring. And it never gets old-
I haven't even watched the video, but I already know it's going to be amazing.
Billlie and Pixy is my 2 ult group right now because they always produced great music and I hope that they can continue for a long time
I hope you can try listen to purple kiss too
Billlie just recently earned their 1st music show win so I'd say this comeback has been pretty successful!!!!!!! Congrats to them!!!!
Sending so much love to Moonsua. I can’t imagine what she and the other members are going through right now.
Me too but i was following them on instagram :)
flipping a coin is my kpop "come to jesus" moment. it was a religious experience every time i listened to it. by far, my fav b-side track of all time.
what makes this group so great is their chemistry. they have their own lingo & inside jokes, like they have been friends for years before they even debut. also, every single member has an immaculate stage presence. every time i see their live performance, i couldn't take my eyes away, even for a second. they just have that aura about them. they have their own unique sound that remain consistent throughout all of their releases, yet their discography is also incredibly diverse, even with their lead singles. there's truly no other group like billlie.
Flipping a coin made me become a casual listener and I fear Eunoia is gonna make me stan 😊
EXACTLY
I just went through a whole billlie trailer/film to understand their lore more. Tbh their lore is unmatched. I understand we have LOONA, but billlie’s lore is just so extremely original it’s something different. The amount of diversity in their discography is also amazing. The amount of different concepts they have are amazing, but one thing I like is that their songs/MV mix well together despite being SOOOO different. The lore videos also help. But in conclusion STAN BILLLIE!

AGREE. Billlie has so much talent, music is immaculate, diverse concepts, CONTENT, unique style, storyline... Everything. EVERYTHING. This comeback they better be more apprecciated.
I can’t believe I discovered this amazing group because of tragedy… I will stand this girls, be strong Moonsua!
They're really talented. plus their dance covers are insane. like their cover of NCT 127's "Kick It" is my all-time favorite
She worked on a lot of SM stuff
:) !!!! :) 🐱🐰
They got their First win now!!!!
If billlie has a million listeners I'm one of them. If billlie has 1 listener Is me. If billlie has no listeners I'm gone.
If you like F(x), GWSN, Loona and Red Velvet don't walk to lisent to Billlie RUN
So my absolute favorite band growing up in the mid-2000’s was My Chemical Romance. MCR were known for their concept albums with an intricate storyline woven throughout the lyrics. They had incredible artwork for each of their albums as well as interesting and thought provoking song titles like “Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough for the Two of Us” and “You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison” etc etc…
Sound familiar? Billlie for me is this odd second coming of MCR for me in my kpop world. They’ve brought back everything I loved about music back in the day…just with more dancing lol
And you know what’s crazy?
I also like Siyoon's singing voice.🐯
Her voice has a clear outline and a gorgeous spread that seems to have been layered with high-quality effects from the beginning, and it looks very attractive.
Billie is the group that I pay the most attention to and support🦉💜💙⌣̈⃝ ♡ ⌣̈⃝ ♡
yes!!!! :) !!!!🐱🐰
Plus, their OST albums for their lore videos are so amazing, I listen to them all the time and I cannot wait for the next one
Billlie’s sounds are more akin to Japanese edm, citypop or Vocaloid.
idk it gives me that vibe esp with RingXRing and Gingamingayo, and their b sides are more citypop
they remind me of Reol, GigaP, HoneyComeBear
something you would play in a Rhythm game which is usually composed of Japanese songs
i love Billlie, i hope they have a big boom in popularity more than their gingamingayo era
oooh yeah, i was really feeling the citypop vibe with eunoia. this whole new ep lives in that space a lot and it makes for a perfect springtime record, honestly.
:) !!! 🐰
yess
Support Billlie’s next comeback Eunoia on March 28th if you can! They have a great discography.
Every song I've heard from them so far just sound so heavenly... like you're being transported to another universe.
Thank god for tsuki's viral fancam or I wouldn't have even known about the group 😭
billlie reminds me of a nowadays red velvet. like for example, their titles like 'rbb' and 'peek-a-boo' reminds me a lot of billlies music because they are all so weird but yet so beautifully crafted that it just fits perfectly, you know? i really adore billlie and their strange and unique sound and i really want the best for them. i haven't heard the comeback yet,, im drowned in many things i have to listen too,, but with the bangers they've beenn pumping out it has to be a bop FS!!
edit; i was writing this at like 8:00 before you were talking abt red velvet LMAO guess we're on the same wavelength
I'm really excited for this upcoming album!! I can definitely say it's a masterpiece with just a few teasers
I cannot stress how much I love these girls and their art!! They are so fantastic and deserve all the praise they can get cause holy smokes!!!
Also I have to add, seeing Billlie live at SXSW was amazing! I was also front row and it was like a dream. ❤
It gives space for the actual music-making while keeping that red thread linking everything and aaah I love Billlie so much
I still listen to Gingamingayo regularly. I love it. And the performance video is amazing!
It really showcases Billlie's awesome choreography.
Absolutely agree with every word, billlie is an amazing group and I'm really glad more people are talking about them
LETS GET THEM THEIR FIRST WIN, THEY DESERVED IT
Yes people who haven't discovered them yet are missing out!!!
All Billlie members are so talented, and they deserve so much more recognition.
i have been influenced. never added so many albums to my playlist in a day
flipping the coin is so good & the dance too *chefs kiss*
Welp, "Ring X Ring" is my new favorite thing. I've never checked Billlie out previously. Thanks for this public service announcement!
I'm pretty sure the kband lucy is under Mystic story too. Which if you haven't heard their music I'd recommend their blue album.
sheon fits so much better in billlie. ring x rings was an amazing debut and i will never understand the hate for it, when i first heard it i instantly got it!! but for me snowy night was what solidified their place in my heart and i became stan! then came gingamingayo and well people didn’t instantly like it either it wasn’t until tsuki’s viral fancam that people started paying attention to them and looking at their music more favorably, the bsides off of that album are probably my favorite. then came ring ma bell and i’m gonna be honest i knew i wasn’t gonna like it as much before like i heard the teasers it was the title for me 😭😭😭 like i hate the title there are just so many songs with that title, when the teasers started dropping i was actually starting to anticipate it and i’m not the biggest fan of the sound they came back with BUT they did it the best in my opinion. also during that era i started getting more sucked into their lore. oh and before that patbingsu was also a cute little bop we love the vibe, i actually love old korean songs and the concept and mv was just perfect for billlie. billlie is so unique from their discography to concept to their mvs and now we get to the talents. the vocals, the raps, the dance just perfection. and yeah even the album covers !! you get it !!! out of the 4th gen i only ult stayc and billlie with lesserafim being the third group i would consider stanning based on their next releases. when it comes to their lore, you mentioned aespa and people listen to aespa without caring about their lore i absolutely don’t care about the SMCU it’s like a million times more complicated than the billlie lore, billlie’s lore is just easy to follow and it reminds me of something that could be a CW teen drama, if i can listen to aespa while not understanding a single thing about their lore then people can listen to billlie without knowing their lore.
i hope this video makes more people check them out 😂
Ring x ring was the song that got me back into kpop tbh.
Then I saw Eunoia had dropped and thought “what the hell I’ll try out Billlie”
It skyrocketed to my most played song, most played album, and now Billlie is on track to be my most listened to Kpop group out of everything on my Spotify.
Loved Billlie ever since I heard there song “Snowy Night” it’s such an underrated song and I hope that song and the girls get more attention this year 🥲
You made me give them a listen AND I AM OBSESSED! Thank you for the great video and recommendation!!
I wanna talk about their album design bc omg they are so good, they give me such magical vibes especially the recent ones they give me reve festival vibes like they are WELCOMING INTO THEIR WORLD like they also have lore which makes it more interesting to me
I just thank the algorithm for bringing me to the viral video of Tsuki. Loving their music and the group too!
i love billlie so much! their new cb is amazing. they constantly are improving and i love each and every one of their songs😭 they’re super underrated but hopefully this video along with others helps introduce them to new people!
bruh ring x ring saved my life. i'll always love these girls and their music. i can see them as the 'red velvet' of 4th gen because they switch up their music concepts for their comebacks and they also have banger b-sides. (this is coming from a reveluv btw)
adding sheon to the lineup just made me love them more cuz she was one of my picks from gp999, so i'm with when you say you're happy she didn't make it to kep1er.
They’re b-sides are godly and i literally cried while listening to the track drops for their new comeback, ENCHANTED NIGHT IS SO GOOD
i remember listening to brave a song for matilda for the first time and feeling like i discovered america and if that doesnt describe ur average experience while listening to billlie idk what does
Considering whos behind Billie makes a lot of sense this concept would work so well, I've been following the Billie since their debut and I'm really happy that they can pull it off so well.

This has been a thought that’s came across a few times and honestly as an early Belllie’ve couldn’t agree more
Massive 50 BMG avoided
Watching this video after Billlie getting their FIRST WIN!!!!!!🥳🥳
Billlie actually can’t produce a bad song. Listening to the new song drops I literally am counting the days until they release. Even various and precious is amazing and ITS A FAN SONG like I actually can’t explain how much I love them
Honestly it makes me sad that these girls are underrated. As someone who was listened to them for a long time now, I can confirm that they have the best discography I had ever heard. I hope that in the future they will become more popular and have a lot of fans and everything bc they totally deserve this. Fighting Billlie let’s get you that first win with EUNOIA ‼️‼️
really hope that billlie blows up
had the opportunity of seeing them live last year, they were amazing.
after watching this video last night i went to listen to the collective soul and unconscious bc the only song on that album that i listened to was gingamingayo (which was one of my favorite 2022 releases) and OMG IT'S LITERALLY SUCH A GOOD ALBUM EVERY SONG IS A BOP I ADDED EVERY SONG TO MY PLAYLIST now i need to listen to their other music
Billlie is amazing. Thank you for spreading the word. These girls deserve the hype for the quality music they are putting out.
just listened to their "the billage of perception chapter 3" and i loved every single song on that EP so much that i went and listened to every bside and then watched this video, i was already a huge fan of their title tracks but their bsides are literally all good, i was amazed that tbop 3 had no skips. amazing video thank you for giving them the credit they deserve
They would release a City-Pop/Brit Pop-esque song in their newest album. I think they will chart well in Internatonal.
(she dissapears, they feel guilt, try to find her in unconcious world).
i've been a casual fan of billlie since gingamingayo, which is when i found out that's where sheon went after gpp999. i absolutely agree with how this entire group is filled with talented people who each stand out in their own ways. they have such a unique and interesting sound and i hope this video helps more people realize just how good they are!!
i've been obsessed with them recently i'm SO excited for their comeback omfg
As a stan since like week 1 this was honestly a really good video essay Mera would approve of
The first time I listened to their songs, I thought "Red Velvet x Dreamcatcher". It's weird but in a good inovative creative way, it's fun while dark, really mix-matching everything that's good in those two groups... But they're really more than this, they're their own thing, and they carry it with so much confidence and charisma, they're amazing 😍 I hope they can continue to put out more bangers
I THOUGHT THE SAME
yoooo they got their first win! ive been a fan since a week before debut and im so proud of them!
Haven't even seen this but yes, you are correct sir.
Also nice use of Tsuki thumbnail.
Thanks for putting me on to snowy night it’s soo good
It's NO JOKE that it's MY TOP 1 TRACK ON SPOTIFY WRAPPED because I was SUPER OBSESSED with GINGAMINGAYO NONSTOP even if IT WAS ON LOOP EVERYDAY JUST BECAUSE IT'S INSANELY GOOD BANGING TRACK/ALBUM
NO! You gotta mention Brave - song for Matilda , it’s a masterpiece!
They have their first win receantly and the song they released is so good, so they totally deserve it.
I freaking love the gritty synth in A sign~anonymous and Suhyeon and Haram’s voice in the chorus bro 🫠🫠🤌🏾
billlie has been my ult group since i found them their music and choreography is so unique and its so amazing to listen to and the members are so cute i love them sm they definitely deserve so much more recognition and this comeback is already sounding amazing i know its gonna be so outstanding
