Left Aus for 14yrs to live/work overseas. Loved the experience but it gave me a huge amount of appreciation for this country when I moved back 2yrs ago. So many little things I now don’t take for granted. It’s not perfect, but I must say am very proud of this great southern land.
In regard to young people working in Australia, the majority of them are in secondary or tertiary education and do this as a part-time job to earn some money and gain some valuable and character-shaping experience in the business world and wider society.
As an Aussie born and bred I know it’s hard not to be a bit biased but I have seen quite a bit of the world so do have something to compare Oz to. Yes, there are plenty of other places I’ve enjoyed visiting but every time I step off that plane in Sydney I’m grateful for all the things we have. And no, I don’t take them for granted. I’m glad you enjoy living here. There are plenty of far worse places to be and none that I can think of that are, overall, better. Enjoy and make the most of it.
Hi, I'm a Malaysian with Australia PR. My family and I will be relocating to Melbourne in early 2023. I'm new to your channel and I find it informative, especially to new migrants to Australia. Will continue to follow the channel for more interesting news and facts of Australia, particularly Melbourne.
One of coolest things about Australia is all of the major cities are auite unique and different. There really is something for everyone. I chose brisbane, but perth would be a close second.
As a sixth-generation Australian (1802) thank you for saying such nice things about the country my family spent over 100 years helping to build! You didn't mention our healthcare system, the envy of many nations (you watching U.S.A.??) or the fact that we can hold elections without having armed guards at polling stations!
2023 - 1802 = 221, 100 years checks out.... ...p.s. your healthcare system is shit, I've used it; and give it a few years until the eshay goon squad goes from knifing randos around the CBD to showing up at polling stations because they're not interested in paying taxes for your healthcare anymore.
Um, Aussie here - I would NEVER leave my door unlocked at night. Please don't do that! But yes, Australia is a great place, not perfect, but pretty bloody good! Glad to have you with us.
I love Australia, sure it has its issues, but we are very lucky to live in such a great place. There is opportunity here, I think some people just don't want to reach out and take advantage of the opportunities presented to them. I'm guilty of it myself, I squandered my education when I was younger and have to pay for it now I'm getting older, but I still have a great life, was able to buy a home and raise a family, sure there was sacrifice, but I think a person in my situation couldn't expect such a good quality of life in many other countries.
Lovely video. I travelled to Australia once, I really enjoyed. Now I am waiting for a job offer feedback in Brisbane. It is true that Australia is international but at the same time they've been very careful who enters the country. First I was against it but now that I lived in London and see how unsafe it can get because of some dangerous individuals, I appreciate Australia's policy.
I have been living in Australia last 10 years. It’s been one of the best decisions of my life. With some initial hiccups, once you get integrated to the Aussie way, then this place is magic. Proud to call Australia home. Live live laugh ..
So pleased your being treated well here. We have problems but after a lot of travel OZ is one of the greatest places on the planet. Cheers from Brisbane.
Thanks for an informative, accurate presentation of Australia and it's people. Just a couple of pointers. I read somewhere that 40% of Australians have at least one parent born overseas. I'm one of them, been here since 1980. And yes, we work to live, not live to work. We pronounce 'anti' as 'antee', not 'antie'. Finally, a video of the original owners of Australia, our Indigenous people, might be educational for your viewers. Looking forward to more great presentations from you.
Hi, thank you. Yes, I'm still brainstorming how can I deliver that topic as I want the video to be as accurate as possible (so thinking perhaps to get someone from the community involved). Still planning it.
Hello! I used to live in Melbourne CBD, so seeing some of those images made me smile. Have you had a chance to visit Healesville Sanctuary yet? I would also recommend The Tree Climbing Adventures just near Puffing Billy if you ever get the chance. The multicultural food is wonderful and soooooooooooooooo delicious! Trying real Chinese food (especially the chickens feet) was an adventure for me. I am currently partial to Japanese and Indian, REAL ethic food and spices, not the toned down Aussiefied mixes.
I live in the UK Nancy , the chances of me coming back are slim not because l don't want to , but because lve been suffering From NES (Non Epileptic Siezures) for the past 18 years and they've been coming on at a regular pace. We came to Perth to visit friends who live there after they invited us over , it was a second honeymoon for Me and my wife
Great promo for the country. Tourism Australia needs to employ you! 1 thing I don't recommend that don't do is leave your door unlocked at night especially if you are a woman and live alone particularly in a poorer suburb. Chances are you will be alright on most occasions but where there is opportunity, some will take it and for a woman that can be disastrous.
14 & 9 months is the minimum age to leave school //// about the minimum age to work as a casual is 15. You will find that the cuisine here is more home cooking for the international foods.
That’s because Australia is so so big Unfortunately most Australians don’t go to alps as it is expensive and a long way away from the snow if you don’t live in Melbourne or Sydney even then it’s expensive
There are areas of Sydney and Melbourne , and some other cities , where it most definitely is NOT SAFE to walk at night , where violent assaults and shootings regularly occur !
I’m not sure about that honestly. I used to live near Redfern close to public housing and whilst there was some theft from deprived people I felt safe walking around mostly. And don’t remember ever hearing about a shooting. Shootings are pretty rare here but occasionally hear of something out west. Not many people have guns or can get hold of one. Looking it up the gun rate death in Australia in 2022 is 1.04 vs US 12.22 per 100,000. And 70% of those in Australia is Suicide rather than violence and most gun deaths outside cities. So based on our population maybe 10 people die from gun violence annually here.

It is safe here, but please don't walk alone at night if you can avoid it, and always lock your doors when you go out. Also, in Queensland it it illegal to leave your car without locking it.
@@thrusta100 Nope. Police just don't want to waste their time on preventable crimes. Its just telling people to take responsibility for the safety of their own vehicles by locking it. Which is the opposite of a nanny state. If you do t want toock your car, don't but don't expect police and insurers to wipe your tears when it is stolen.
We don't have Thanksgiving here but if we did, I'd be thankful that when my ancestors decided to leave England in the 1820s, they boarded a ship bound for Botany Bay rather than New York which was less than half the distance. Had they taken the much easier option, I'd think I'm living in the best country in the world like they all do, but I wouldn't be as we all know.
As an Aussie expat the past 15 years, I’m very happy to hear your positive views on the country that I love. My impression though when I return home from time to time is that Australia is becoming less tolerant and more segregated. Hopefully this is not the reality. The benefits of multiculturalism are also why I love Australian life. I hope this remains the case when I return permanently one day.
I hear you. It’s because some issues have become polarised. The us verses them. Then again this is a general thing, with uneducated and non factual discord with exploding internet and social media usage. Sadly the media to compete for advertising money has lowered itself to the same level causing people to really have no trusted source to keep people and government to account.
Internet wise probably, but day to day life I haven't really noticed much difference over the last decade, less tacklessness actually eg. I haven't heard the term "boat people" used unironically in quite a long time lol
I was born and live in Australia, but I haven't seen less tolerance and more segregation. My biggest fear is the cost of housing (either owning or renting) and how it will affect us in the next 10 or 20 years. Housing is a complicated problem to fix, maybe restrict negative gearing to commercial property or new unit builds only?
In regard to no photos on job applications: one of my nieces is a civil engineer, who just put her name (Leigh+ surname) on job applications. One day she turned up for an interview and told the young woman at the desk that she was Leigh come for the interview. The young woman looked up and smiled and said this is going to be good fun. No more was said.
I think a lot of Australians don't really realize how great our country is until they leave and go overseas. We can all whine about something but compared to the rest of the world, we have very little to whine about.
TOTALLY AGREE. The reason I am leaving the Philippines for AU for a skilled job. High poverty rate, high unemployment rate, highly corrupt government (and its politicians), very low minimum salary wage, inequality among almost all the citizens (except for the rich), police brutality (especially to the poor), rotten healthcare system both for the patients who do not afford hospitals and medicines and the healthcare workers earning very low amount of monies.
Yes, I'm Australian, the no1 greatest thing about Australia is the amazing coastline. Yes, the people are laid back and the work-life balance is good. But it's not perfect, you didn't mention it's becoming overrun with bogans and yobbos. The best advice I can give? stick to the coast, they tend to migrate inland!
@@purplesmurf7563 Bogans are unsophisticated and uncouth, they wear thongs and slippers to work, and drink copious amounts of booze. Every second word from a bogan is a swear word. Bogan humor is cringe and they are blue-pilled. A Yobbo Is the same except with more of an emphasis on the loud mouth and the poor dress sense.
@@emjem99 Ignorant generalization??. It's obviously a deliberate overexaggerated stereotype. Of course, there is grey in-between. Buts let's face it, they have traits that can be annoying. anyways we aren't like-minded, let's just call it quits.
Just a couple of points, the young are at work because they want or need the money. Companies like employing young people because they pay them low wages and most of these are casual employees. Casual employess do not get 5 weeks leave, they are not paid any leave in most cases. Casuals get no paid leave and most do not even get paid sick leave. Casuals are only paid for the time they are working. They do however get the government mandated superannuation guarantee payment from the employer (currently 9.5% but soon to increase a little).
Interesting one! All I can say now is that meeting Joseph Sullivan Anderson has changed my life. He has assisted us in becoming debt-free and saving for retirement." During this dip, I made over $220,000, demonstrating that there is more to the market than the average Joe is aware of. Having an investment adviser is currently the best course of action, particularly for those who are on the verge of losing money.
Thank you so much for the advice. Your coach was simple to discover online. I did my research on him before I scheduled our phone call. He appears knowledgeable based on his online resume.
With the help Sir Joseph Sullivan Anderson, I've gained perfectly well from my investment. The quantity of capital you invest, though, ultimately determines everything. With a substantial start-up budget, you could be able to earn more Gains..

Happy to be in Sydney? lol
Thank you for such a lovely review of our country...yes we are blessed to have such a society other country's would be envious of. 👍🤗
Not really lol as we have so many beautiful places out here too. When was the last time you visit United States
I find this depends on where you live. Most places you could, it's just that we don't want to take the risk.
Live in Melbourne and have never locked my door. Only break in was the neighbour's cat stealing dog food. 😆
I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR NEW
VIDEO. STAY BLESSED. THANK YOU
You are very welcome here. We Ausies know that we live in the best place in the world. Great to see you spreading the word.
Ghastly country, one needs a sense of humour to live there.
If you haven't done WA you really need to start at the bottom and work your way up, it's probably the most diverse state environmentally
Valuable insights! I do love Australia for similar reasons and hope that you're chilling out there.
Which part of Australia are you from
What a fine young woman. With people like her moving to Australia our future is assured.
If you come over to WA you will never want to leave :) lots of places to explore and plenty of sun!
Loved your video. So glad you love living here.
Thank you for making me so excited to move to aussieland for a job opportunity from America!
I’m glad you like it!
So pleased your being treated well here. We have problems but after a lot of travel OZ is one of the greatest places on the planet. Cheers from Brisbane.
Interesting comment. Would you ever try to visit United States too ?
@@NancyRodriguez-bj3rx Nahh
@@Liam25025 lol, but would you ever wish someone could visit you ?
Apparently, there is more snow in Australia than Switzerland but be quick it doesn’t last long. A few months.
Yes have visited Healesville etc. Beautiful :) And yes, the food is so great!!
Western Australia is a great place to live we have the best beaches and lifestyle
We visited Australia back in 1999 , fabulous country we visited Perth in the South West , ld love to gi back there again
Since you only visited once, when do you ever plan to go back and which part of the world are you currently?
I live in the UK Nancy , the chances of me coming back are slim not because l don't want to , but because lve been suffering
From NES (Non Epileptic Siezures) for the past 18 years and they've been coming on at a regular pace.
We came to Perth to visit friends who live there after they invited us over , it was a second honeymoon for
Me and my wife
@@jerrybailey5797 I feel so sorry for you about that and how have you been coping with it so far and I do hope with the help of your wife as well?
I too love Australia , very very much. God bless Australia.
Definitely need to get to Perth! in my opinion the best city in Australia
Good reasons to live in Australia, thanks for sharing, greetings from Colombia.
14 & 9 months is the minimum age to leave school //// about the minimum age to work as a casual is 15. You will find that the cuisine here is more home cooking for the international foods.
This has been very helpful as we’re looking to move from uk x
Thanks a lot its was amazing information for me that help me a lot.
Great video - Australia truly is a beautiful country, and it's not difficult to see why immigration demand is so very strong.
I really enjoyed your video I live in Brisbane and retired...
Your voice is really therapeutic.
More snow falls in the Australian Alps than the Swiss Alps.
The ski season is short.
That’s because Australia is so so big
Unfortunately most Australians don’t go to alps as it is expensive and a long way away from the snow if you don’t live in Melbourne or Sydney even then it’s expensive
Try "Kottu". (Sri Lankan Food). Love your videos. Good luck
Guys vegetation
the best thing about being multi culural, is the food OMG
I want to live in Australia😊
Chilled and great sense of humour as apposed to Americans 😂😂😂
I'm looking to move to a place that has warm weather all year and recently google recommended me here. But which is the best?
Yes miss I love Australian and I wish looking for Australia
Beautiful picture
Just some information for you it's now 50% of Australians were born overseas after the census in 2021 . Love the video by the way 😍

The same. Haven't been to WA. Want to visit sometime in the future.
It is safe here, but please don't walk alone at night if you can avoid it, and always lock your doors when you go out. Also, in Queensland it it illegal to leave your car without locking it.
Nanny state
@@thrusta100 Nope.
@@horsepuncher95 thank god
I was born and live in Australia, but I haven't seen less tolerance and more segregation. My biggest fear is the cost of housing (either owning or renting) and how it will affect us in the next 10 or 20 years. Housing is a complicated problem to fix, maybe restrict negative gearing to commercial property or new unit builds only?
Wow! And which part of the world are you currently at ?
In regard to no photos on job applications: one of my nieces is a civil engineer, who just put her name (Leigh+ surname) on job applications.
One day she turned up for an interview and told the young woman at the desk that she was Leigh come for the interview. The young woman looked up and smiled and said this is going to be good fun. No more was said.
Australia looks amazing and awesome
I love 💝 Australia 🇦🇺. The place to stay
it's very very very very very very very very very very very good video
May you continue to transition into a top notch aussie sheila! Cheers mate 👍
I think a lot of Australians don't really realize how great our country is until they leave and go overseas. We can all whine about something but compared to the rest of the world, we have very little to whine about.
Very well said :) lovely country and people
bingo.
@@ashu102810 that sounds nice but have you ever visit United States
If you're an example of the laid back, friendly Aussie I'll give the coast a miss thanks.
@@emjem99 Oh well, I can't please everyone, we all have our likes and dislikes now don't we. If we are not sometimes critical we aren't honest.
@@goldentwilight1944"critical" implies knowledge. Ignorant generalisation on the other hand....
They do however get the government mandated superannuation guarantee payment from the employer (currently 9.5% but soon to increase a little).
i have no idea what that accent is but its beautiful!

I just discovered his outstanding resume when I searched for his name on Google. I count it a blessing that I came across this comment section
With the help Sir Joseph Sullivan Anderson, I've gained perfectly well from my investment. The quantity of capital you invest, though, ultimately determines everything. With a substantial start-up budget, you could be able to earn more Gains..
I invest with Joseph Sullivan Anderson. He's the best when it comes to big profit in the financial market; he's well-accredited and knowledgeable on how to manage your investments.
I just googledhim, found his website, and left a message, hoping he responds soon. Appreciate!!
Ah, you’re a healer! That makes sense.

Best way to get started if exploring Australia visa options as an American?
Best way is to check the Department of Home Affairs website -> immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder - this is your go-to source (if not, a MARA registered migration agent) Hope this helps :)

Australians are kind and friendly
I have a plan to move to Australia to finish my Highschool but I heard that we should pay Scholarships every term. Is that true ??
If you get a full scholarship, you usually don't pay for anything. And if you get a partial scholarship, they usually discount that % out of the total tuition fees. My experience is only with universities though. You should definitely contact your institution and ask them directly :)
There's no scholarships for high school. Only universities offer scholarships and each one has information about how to apply on their website
I liked a lot. 👏🏾
You’re lovely!

Hi! thank you for comment :) There're several pathways for migrating to Australia (points system, sponsored visas, WH visas, student visas, partner visas, etc.). I have a video where I give a high level overview on that (th-cam.com/video/EnIvh8oqGqM/w-d-xo.html) - but I highly recommend getting started by reading the Department of Home Affairs website and diff visa options (immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder), and/or contacting a registered migration agent (portal.mara.gov.au/search-the-register-of-migration-agents/)
