I get so frustrated with my sax jumping up a octave when Im playing a song. I double check my Reed my and technique I'm starting to think my sax is messed up or I'm terrible at it.
if I do a powerful Ta for each note most of the time it'll go an octave above what I want so I forced to blow real soft loose I don't know what I'm doing wrong haha it's annoys the crap out of me though
Hmm...tricky one. Have you watched my video on split notes? th-cam.com/video/hunaVH4UNlE/w-d-xo.html It may also be an 8ve key issue rather than just embouchure. Do you find it happens across the whole range of the instrument or just on certain notes...?
Great vid! Quick question Chez... under the neck joint on my sax there is a tiny thumbscrew - what is that for? I've searched high and low for an answer!
Adrian Kingsley-Hughes aha! I see what you mean now! That's a funny one actually. It's for a mobile music stand. It was traditionally for marching bands so you could walk whilst reading your mini manuscript. I've never ever used mine!
I know it's a right nuisance! Particularly happens to older saxes. Cheeky bit of cigarette paper (rollies) pulled underneath every so often seems to solve the problem! x
Great tip. I just wanted to say thanks for your videos. Thanks for sharing your talent you are a fantastic saxophonist
Thanks so much for your support! Cx
