What a song. What an experience to have each time we hear this for the rest our lives.
The white guitar in the background was the guitar my son Jared shredded on stage and in the studio. He passed away last month at 23. He’s with us each time we do a first react / react video...just like we used to do together when listening to new / old music at home, in the car or wherever we could. I miss him so much. His mind would be blown with AWE.

My interpretation of the song. A man is asking a woman not to leave after a drastic situation (rape/abuse). She decided to leave (the fade out). Then she decided to return to him (the raw sound recorded at the studio). She returned to him, still the same (song) but a different person (sound).

Hey Chris! Thanks for visiting us and hanging out! My best friend’s name is Chris and he is the one who turned me on to DT in 1989 at UMASS...he is a wicked musician who has toured the world and is currently writing and playing again...he actually came up with an arrangement similar to AWE (Wit’s) before the album was released.

At Wit’s end is one my favorite songs from Dream Theaters new Album Distance over time right now that song is so heavy I think it’s one of Dream Theaters great songs of all time in years rock on guys🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
This was my wife and I, newlyweds almost 20 years ago for our first DT concert - Metropolis 2000 tour. And now we are looking forward to seeing them at the end of this month. I lot of emotion in this song and this video. Bravo!

So just for the fun of it, they faded out on the mix, but then came back in on a single microphone picking up the ambient sounds from the room they were recording in for an absolutely unique sound. Pretty cool trick, really.

Guys.......you and many Dream Theater fans have missed the most sentimental and touching DT song ever! You must react to this. Its called “This is the Life” from the album “A Dramatic Turn of Events”.........if Kel doesn’t cry with the guitar melody,I will lose 100$!! As musicians you will appreciate this song,Petrucci is just a genius!
The whole album is great! Probably in their top 5 or close to it. Recommend 'Pale Blue Dot'; 'Barstool Warrior'; 'Paralyzed'; & 'Out of Reach'. Couple other bands to check out, Periphery & Soilwork (especially the 'Living Infinite' double album).
my good guess would be, that they wrote this as the first track on the album....... the entire album is great, but they obviously used all the best ideas on this song...... it's flawless from start to finish...... Petrucci made that guitar cry like only David Gilmour or Steve Rothery can usually do.......
Yes this song is prolly one of the best on this album... Goosebump material aswell as TCOT and Octavarium. 😉. I see u have done reactions on all song on this album except the 3 first one that were trickled out. But I think Fall into the Light really is a killer aswell and right down ur alley. We get to live and love right along with you and that’s the whole idea! I totally agree with your comment about her being ‘a keeper’ as she represents the best parts of humanity...generosity, honesty, love, appreciation, fun, authenticity, unbridled expression and creativity to name a few.
When selecting songs for us, I endeavour to bring these aspects out because her reactions are so genuine and inspiring...be it positive or negative. I have my own ‘feelings’ about this and that but really come out fully when I am with her...lucky for me it’s like 24/7.
Please keep commenting and suggesting and pass this channel along so we can keep this going for all our sakes. Lord knows our world could use more of what we all represent here.

if i could recommend anyone to you i would say go check out joey eppard and his band called "3", they toured with DT in 09 but i missed them! but thats where i heard of them, they are too real..
i would start with the ghost you gave to me and then go back to the beginning, and his solo album been to the future.. they are so diverse and the message is visionary...
they are supposed to make a small comeback as well soon.. anyway rock on and see you round!

I love watching yuppies and hip hop fans getting into good music. This song is excellent! Are you interested in getting into less accessible metal? Please try a Doom metal band called Solitude Aeturnus or a great band named Satyricon. Please play Black Crow On a Tombstone. If you want to do reactions like everyone else do TOOL, Metallica, Slipknot, Black Sabbath, or Iron Maiden which are all excellent but have already been done over and over and over.

Less accessible metal - sure! We are just not so much about the scream/growl death metal. We are trying it out but we tend to enjoy hearing the lyrics and find that genre difficult to understand what is being said.
Aside from the suggestions you have already made (which are now in our spreadsheet), what do you have in mind?

In my opinion, many metal reactors miss the boat and expanse of all kinds of metal by only listening to the masses and playing the bands who have been requested by those with a mostly casual interest in metal. If you add a lot of the more known and popular bands to your spreadsheet, your channel will likely go after the same bands that the others do because the lesser knowns will never receive enough votes. May I suggest that you alternate between a lesser known band and then a big band like TOOL, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, etc? Feel free to message me on Instagram @toddapplegate75. I know what you are after, and won't lead you astray. I have been collecting metal albums and going to shows for many, many years. I am an international teacher now who lives in Astana, Kazakhstan. I really miss being in the States and going to shows. Thanks for reaching out to me.
Please try out Solitude Aeturnus: Opaque Divinity or Mirror of Sorrow. This is from their epic album, Into the Depths of Sorrow that came out around 1991. I really believe that you will love this.
Tesseract is another band that I believe you will love. Please try Acceptance (Concealing Fate Part 1). It has a tiny bit of mild growling but is mostly a clean and beautiful song. These guys are a progressive/djent band from England.
The third band and song is Deftones: Diamond Eyes. They are by far the most popular of these three, but this song is beautiful and heavy. This song has rarely if ever been reacted to by the popular reactors.
I have thousands of CDs and am a true collector of music. Please let me advise you some.
