The tour guide needs to get some very important facts right. The Akosombo Dam is a Rockfill Dam with an impermeable Dam core constructed out of laterite. The Dam was not constructed out of oyster shells as he suggests in this video. The Akosombo Dam is one of our prized possessions - it makes up a huge chunk of 'brand Ghana' and is very much part of the Ghanaian experience and represents the progress we have made in our experiment of self government . We should therefore aim for the highest standards of excellence whenever and wherever we tell its story to the world. Nothing less suffices or does it justice.
