raised my standards a few years ago, you will see fast who your real friends and family are. i only get calls to go hang out and waste time. i get judged for rejecting my so called friends because i rather use my time go build my business.
gregdagrouch yeah alot of people (for the most part) dont have that hustler mentality. my homies are all out here getting wasted, poisoning their bodies. fuck that I really be alone and grinding for the time being than wasted and decaying. time will reveal those who have worked hard and who built themselves to outlast their peers
Pat, you really hit the nail on the head with this one. A lot of people misunderstand the word Sacrifice, when you raise your Standards what your doing is giving up the old for the new, the bad for the good. Most people aren't willing to risk raising their standards because it's uncomfortable and they don't want people to dislike them.
Love it! Personally I can speak from experience. When you raise standards or even go after a vision your circle will DRASTICALLY shrink very quickly. Do not let this scare you although it can be painful these people you lose will do nothing to help you get to the end goal. They despise you because you remind them of their failures or lack of desire. Pat, love the content always inspiring.
I believe April 1st, 2021 was the first time I raised my standards. It was awkward. Pat's right, I pushed the buttons I didn't know I was pushing & got into fights with most of my family members except my dad. He is the only one I really opened up to & shared what I was going through... I came out of it that night coming to terms with myself primarily. The biggest take way? "That which you do not hate you will eventually tolerate." - Malcolm X. Also, "Family is not defined by blood but by bonds." - Anonymous.
For anyone who wants to raise standards for yourself is a fantastic thing. . In a professional setting I think it was always easier because its all about business and it comes purely down interests. If you managed to raise the standards while proving clearly this will profit everyone on the team I don't think there is much resistance. Also professional relationship can be changed without hard feelings if it doesn't work out. Family context is more sensitive. in general home environment is supposed to be more relaxed. If raising standard means changing family norm for something I think significant like breaking really really bad habits for example heavy drinking. its a worth while goal even if relationship get testing. Unfortunately I seen relationship got hurt just because of more trivial reason like "I want a perfectly immaculate house" while pushing everyone button to clean instead of resting after a long day of work.
I used to be the laziest person I knew about a year ago. I would say I was going to do something, but never do it. I wanted to be wealthy, but never had a plan on how I was going to get there. My parents pretty much gave up on me but in the past few months I've changed the direction of my life completely and everyone around me is starting to in turn, respect that, and respect me. *Investing and Business Related Videos 63/100 Subscriber Goal*
I grew up with a father that was nicknamed "Top of the Line Tommy" so higher standards have become a way of life. Now I study Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, I build computers for friends or family and just graduated from Precision Machining and CNC Automation course....having higher standards has definitely thinned the herd and narrowed my friend's list, however, I have gained the reputation of overdoing things. I am good with this, if a thing is worth doing at all it is worth overdoing so that it lasts longer, is better for longer, and just nice. Now I look at what I do as "Over-Engineered" :) sounds a hell of a lot better than "Overdone." I have witnessed this firsthand and encourage everyone that reads this to try it out for themselves, the results are exciting. Also, know that it doesn't happen overnight, but each day being better than your previous self, recognizing the weak bits and correcting them.
I love this, after I started raising my standards, my friends are starting to notice and I think they feel guilty that they aren't doing more now.....I hope I can motivate them to do more for themselves.
It's been three years. How've you been? Have a great day! God Bless! Stay strong, stay safe and take care of yourselves! Wishing everyone the best! Jesus loves you! May the Holy Spirit guide you! 😇 💗🕊 Cheers to a better year buddy! 💞🥂🍻
Pat this is awesome! Just yesterday one of my former colleagues was badmouthing me around the streets because some of their customers are moving to use my service. I know now It is the standards difference between my service and theirs.
already experienced this myself for 10 years now.. keep going.. don't look back.. if they want it, they will follow in your footsteps and ask you for help.. be there to help if they ask.. otherwise, keep going forward
Move on forward with your life. You deserve better than that. Doesn't matter whether it's our own family members who are trying to hold us back. I had to move far away from my family in Germany. Listening to them would cause me stagnation and that I can't handle at all. Life is a constant flowing and improving and learning process.
I find this to be true. If you don't know where to start, simply make new friends that has strong work ethic and big dreams. Not losers or those that stay in their comfort zone or give excuses for everything. Find edgy people who dare to do different and mix with them, you will soon realized it. Caution : your old friends will talk behind yr back and probably hate you.
True Pat.!.it's happening to me right now but on the other side it really showed results. It sucks but everyone who raise their standards are experiencing like this so i'm not really worried..Tnx..Cheers!
Right. Great message Patrick. Thanks again FOR EVERYTHING. The private strategy session in still hitting me real hard. Many adjustments have already been made where it counts. Your generosity, attitude and knowledge was above and beyond impressive. It was life changing. Its cliche, but, I needed that............ Me and my family will forever be thankful. Lots of love - Steve Jurado
I been going through this for years now and could never quite put my finger on what it was or articulate why wouldn’t deal with people I felt settled too much until yesterday.... I blurted it out of nowhere and it all just got really clear. Save yourself and separate yourself from the leeches especially family.
Im having a bad day today since Im disappointed with my colleagues not meeting my standards. This has been my problem ever since college. Im starting to think theres something wrong with me and if I dont lower my standards Im always gonna be disappointed by people around me. Well this is a boost of motivation right here.
I had somewhat situation as you did. I wanted to take my skill to the next level but my team mate seems not wanting to take this journey. I honestly did tried to be gentle, I provided tips, offered my time to help. I was hoping we will grow our skills as a team together and enjoy the rewards. But all I got was a cold shoulder and distrust from him. I don't think I really tried to push his buttons at first. The take away I got was that in a professional setting, my work, my desire to improve is primarily my own affairs. How my peer want to operate is really their own choice. If the colleague is indeed operating at a severely low standards, I don't think I need to waste my energy on being disappointed but find a team that operate at a higher capacity.
I feel this so much. I pretty much hardly have anyone in my circle from 10 years ago. Even my own family thinks I act “white”. It is what it is, I determined I’m gonna do my best and not have to be a burden onto the world and carry my own weight. Like an old LT in the military told me once. It’s lonely at the top, that is true on so many levels.
Dealing with people with low standards at work really pisses me off. Especially some of the sales folk who can’t value add to the proposal or even follow up properly with the client.
if someone always look at your father as a person that can be trusted a million dollar. how come he has in hospital with no money and that motivated you?
First thing to do when you set high standards for yourself. Get rid of expectations you have of other people . You’ll be disappointed. Your circle of your current friends is going to shrink drastically. This is why you see a lot of videos about high achievers being lone wolves. The masses are comfortable with the status quo.
Thanks Pat! I appreciate what you do, I am sure many other people are looking up to you and acknowledging your advices, thank you for doing what you are doing! Much respect.
i think what he meant will be something like this. Today your target for sales is to sell 20 packs of milk. 1 week later you rise your target from 20 packs of milk per day into 30 packs of milk per day. And so on until you can achieve such huge number like 500 packs of milks per day.
Matzikingg Standards, start by making your bed in the morning everyday, every thing you do, do better than yesterday, raise your standard means don't let things be as it stands right now, make it be better on whatever you do, it will be hard depending on your habits but once consistent you won't notice how hard it was, its like brushing your teeth in the morning.. you no longer notice it.
No partying every weekend anymore No smoking weed just cause your bored or at all. Asking people about their plans and checking to see if they are actually sticking to it. Not hanging around people unless they are trying to progress. Doing what you say your going to do.
What type of question is this? Everything! If you don't work out start working out one day a week. Later raise them again by working out three times a week. Raise them again by watching your diet. Raise them again by reading workout books. Raise them again by getting a better plan. Raise them again by getting a trainer. Raise them again by... The list goes on and on. The same thing can be applied to anything. You make $20 a week cutting grass you are thinking my new minimum is $50 a week. Now matter what you have to get there because that is your new standard.
Raise your standard for me means related to Thinking once a thinking's standard is good than a person already has a standard and money will follow automatically.
This is so true and 1 of your best messages. With each change for the better I make I seem to lose people but from what your saying thats just how it goes.
My work place baker made pudding the other day an accidentally use cake mix. Turned pudding into chocolate cake bars. I turned around and sold all their mistake. The truth is in the pudding. The pudding may come in a different form. I'm raising my standards. I'm still selling. Good video! I share!
it's a lot like the triangle I seen used to knock down certain companies they'd call a pyramid scheme. however, in this scenario, the wide bottom would be filled with low to no standard people and the further you go up (raising your standards) the fewer people there'd be. makes sense to me anyhow.
Patrick, how can I get over heart break? My girlfriend broke up with me and now I feel as if I lost all my drive and motivation to do anything... I know you have gone through at least something that has broken you to the point where you don't know what to do from there on. I need your help Pat, thank you
They get jealous of your high standard life style and mindset. That's why they backstab and gossip. It's their low standard way of "getting even" for them being jealous of you.
I love this video hahahahha I wish I can send this to a lot of people 😂.. I wish people can raise they're standards instead of complain how things are impossible..

100%
Pessimism is to this day, plaguing social media with apathy, low self-esteem and little to no standards
I love this, after I started raising my standards, my friends are starting to notice and I think they feel guilty that they aren't doing more now.....I hope I can motivate them to do more for themselves.
Thank you, bro! You're so right. I have a high standard for my work. My work speaks for me. Period.

It's amazing how many people out there will tell you to just except the bare minimum and just pick from the crumbs.

I'm glad this nearly starts off with raising my own standards. If you want to on other people level, you need to be there yourself.
The great thing about raising your own standards is that they can always be raised.

Raising one's standard often makes one the odd one out. It's worth it though, in the long run.
It's tough as hell at first.

always raise your standards
never be comfortable
the high standard people win
I'm going to raise my standards today and complete tasks rather than letting them pile on for later.
This might have been most impactful videos I have ever watched. Thank you Pat!
As always you speak the truth..your videos always spur me on to be the best version of myself. Thanks Pat
This inspired me to get back to my cold calling. Its almost like magic but soon as I watched this 2 of my potential clients called me
That is bad ass. I just raised my standards 2 fold after watching this. Thanks Pat 🙏🏻
My work place baker made pudding the other day an accidentally use cake mix. Turned pudding into chocolate cake bars. I turned around and sold all their mistake.
The truth is in the pudding.
The pudding may come in a different form.
I'm raising my standards.
I'm still selling.
Good video! I share!
Just what I needed to hear.
Your musings from your life's past are very insightful and inspiring...you were great as always in this video, Pat! :)

i just love your energy and thoughts patrick
Thank you!! Very true!!
Pat, could you do a video on how to deal with negative/ difficult customers and also how to chase money.
P.S love the videos.
What does it mean to have high standards? What’s the difference between high and low? Example?
My standards are so low in my job search. I’m overqualified in terms of education for some of these jobs. I aim too low 😟
Awesome message! Definitely need this!
P.B.D. has spoken!
Luvvit! Had to watch 2x
Much needed message Pat thank you!
I get the distinct impression that PBD has read the book 'The Prince' at least 10 times if not more.
