Why don't you go and make another video of the current situation of the airport. I am not supporting any political party, but most of the people who complained at the time are ones who perceived this future. it is not even a year passed now; there are no more international flights, there are broken windows, no more passengers, but the whole facility is fully air conditioned all the time. Are they going to maintain the airport from the RS 100 tickets they sell for the ones who are going to visit the airport. I have recent proof if you do want. I have no doubt in building an airport, but this must the only INTERNATIONAL airport in the world that has zero passengers at this time of the year. Whose money are they keeping at stake. If they were aiming at building an international airport who did the feasibility study? It is sad to realize the amount of money that has gone waste building such structures that do not last, when there are still people in the south that do not access to good quality water. At least the port seem to have some trading going on. This is what the role of media should be, not just trying to prove themselves and some political party they support.
Dont forget the nearby cricket stadium too..international standard apparently but never used,a Rajapaksa vanity project ,there is already an excellent stadium in Galle,more more accessible too.

Strange place far from anywhere except Hambantota ,a small town that the Rajapaksas come from.The road near the airport is good but as soon as you start to go in the direction of Galle it deteriorates rapidly ,that would need improving if this is to be used as a tourist airport.There is an international standard cricket ground not too far away that never gets used either.

According his statement that we know now mattala air port is a modern and well equipped , also architecture and using natural day light in the day time is quite amazing. It seems to be built for it's standard rather in a purpose of making money . Yet , of course making money out of it by our people cannot be ignored , still the idea and purpose is fantastic.
