Thank you for the great video and advice, I just bought a 4 seater IL40 and I’m very pleased with it. I use it for yard work and to cruise the neighborhood in Clarksville TN. I’m really interested in the sound bar ( mine doesn’t have one but it is going too).
Love Tennessee. I live in Floridia but born in Kentucky so have done my share of traveling through the mountains of Tennessee. So happy to hear you are pleased with your Icon. Such an awesome cart compared to the other big brands. Here is the link to the soundbar I use that is hardwired to the cart. Just let me know if you have any questions at all!! amzn.to/3pPyUSj
You can run your radio wires thr the down tubes in the rear and tie in to your 48/12 reducer. I work at a golf cart shop and that's how we do it. You see only the wire loom on the top tubing under the top.
One factor I considered when buying my Icon I40L was weight. The 105AH lithium only weighs 79 lbs as apposed to the 270 lbs of optional battery sources. That’s extra cargo weight or larger passengers.
Yes very true. This is why wheel spacers help a lot because with the lithium you don’t have the same massive center of gravity weight that the cart originally had with the traditional lead acid batteries.
Thanks for sharing all this great information! I recently got an Icon 40L, the stock tires are a bit shot from the prior owner running them at 6psi... I was interested in getting the same setup you have but worried about going up another inch from the tire diameter (i.e., 12x10.5x12 stock to 235/60/14 - 2 inches taller, 1 inch effective additional lift). The tires would also be a little more than and inch less wide (10.5" to 9.3"). The stock cart already feels a little squirrely with handling, how is the handling and ride comfort with your current setup vs. the stock? Thank you in Advanced!
Thank you for watching! Always happy to hear when people appreciate me sharing some knowledge. Let me say first that I have the 2 inch spacers on all 4 wheels. That helps a ton with keeping the cart grounded. Just keep in mind when you buy the spacers your wheels will stick out further so when you drive in the rain water or mud will kick up onto the cart more often. That is a sacrifice I’m willing to make personally. I was the one that started using these car tires on our lifted Icon golf carts originally and a lot of people have followed suit. I’ve heard no complaints from anyone so I’m suspecting they’re as happy as I am. I’m about make video showing how well my tires have held up over the years so stay tuned for that. Plus they look awesome IMO! But as far as comfort goes, I will admit that these car tires are probably a little rougher than the OEM setup. But once again it’s minimal in my opinion. One thing I learned is to keep the pressure in the car tires at 15 psi. There is not enough weight on this golf cart, especially considering I have lithium, to make the car tires flex if you keep them at regular capacity. So if you keep them at 15 psi you will get some cushion out of them and I’ll show in my upcoming video the tires do not wear any worse from keeping them that low. I hope this makes sense but more importantly I hope it helps. As always, I have links to the wheels, tires and spacers in the video description. But don’t hesitate to let me know if you need anything further! Best of luck!
Your Tech, what was your philosophy in choosing Icon over the big three (EZ-GO, Club Car, and Yamaha)? We are on the Market for a car and Icon has come to our attention. Why not EZ-GO, Club Car, or Yamaha? Thanks you.
Does your icon make a noise while accelerating? Then goes away when foot comes of throttle. I’m assuming it’s just the electric motor doing it’s thing. It’s my first cart
Sorry I missed this comment. It came factory with the lift because it’s an i60L. If it was just an i60 then it would come lowered. Same with the 4 seater Icons that go by i40 and i40L.
If you’re on Facebook there is a lot of info in these groups: “Icon Golf Carts - Lifestyle, Support, Customizations” and the other is “Icon Golf Cart Owners - Present and Future”. Buggies Gone Wild also has a bunch of threads about Icon as well! Just look up threads involving a guy named ATtain. He helps a lot. Hope that helps.
I would not keep lithium plugged in all the time. Lithium batteries should stay in the range from 80 - 20%. 80 - 20 would be 80% DoD (Depth of discharge). The lower the DoD, the longer the lifespan.
not happy with my purchase of icon: rear differential leaks - dealer blamed it on speed bumps (we dont have any), windshield squeaks, friends front control arm broke for no reason, overhead hand grips too small and break, control panel been replaced several times now out of warranty, rust stains now starting. should have followed my gut and bought an ezgo or yamaha
@@yourtechtoday9238 almost 80 lbs Golden Doodle. I have the I40L. Love your tires, I'll for sure get those when my stock tires are spent. Even with 2 inch spacers the I40L is sketchy at 30 mph
My brother has a golden doodle. Great dogs! Thanks and yes you’ll be glad you get the car tires. I actually had the sangria i40L before this cart. It gets much squirrelier at high speed than the 6 seater does. I never got spacers back then because I didn’t know about them. They would have helped me a lot because that thing was scary sometimes around 30 like you said.
Your Tech - Question for you. If you had to do it over would you go with a 72 volt vs. 48 volt/160ah? Looking at that now for a 2022 I60L. Thanks

I just go an Advanced EV and was wondering about the battery and when to plug in or when to run down so thanks.
Just got my first golf cart it’s a n Advance EV and I’m going to take your advice 👍🏾
CONGRATS!! You won’t be disappointed!! Let me know if you have any questions at all as you get to know your new golf cart! Stay safe!
@@yourtechtoday9238 Same here and will be delivered by July 4!!
Great video. Can you make a video showing how to wire the sound bar? Thanks
Any idea why the fan turns on when I plug it in then off a moment later? It won't charge at that point and charging light is on.

Great video, the rear seat handles are a great idea. Where did you get the headrest pads in your future videos?
These are great tips… thanks sooo much.
You are very welcome! Happy to help if you ever have questions! Thanks for watching.
Great info. Beautiful cart. I love the tires.
I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!
I have an i-40l. Do you know of somewhere accessories can be bought? I will get the solace. Think thats a great idea. Thanks fir the ideas. Will

No it never has. Can you elaborate on this noise?
can you tell me what wheel spacers you have?
These have been great. Have had them since right after I got the cart and now have over 5k miles on it. amzn.to/46YQYtP

what's a good forum for icon owners. im noticing parts are harder to get then ezgo and club carts.

Thanks Gregg!
The video I made for you is now up, but I see you took down my comment from earlier, so I guess you're not interested. ✌
my dog hates our cart.
So strange isn’t it? Most dogs I’ve had loved going on the cart. Is your dog big like our’s? Our’s is around 85 lbs and I think that’s why.

Unbelievable bumpy ride...Icon rides horrible
