Cheers mate, dont ever take this vid down im always coming back here for a reference, everytime I buy one of these interfaces it never comes with a diagram
Superb. I was boggled at the 7 4pin cables and 1 2pin...now I see! The video is a little yellow in light, but still an excellent tutorial. Thanks for your time.
I’m on my third attempt to wire my joysticks and buttons. none seem to work when all plugged in and try to configure in retro pi. Didn’t pick up any sticks or buttons although does detect the encoder. Is there a specific way u need to put the wires to the buttons and joysticks I have buttons with micro switches built in
Thx a lot for the tutorial i didnt get layout with mine either,so this helps a lot.Unfortenly i got all the buttons to work but my 2 joysticks fail to be recognised by retropie, any ideas?i think i copied exactly the way you did it and also my usb interface its exactly like yours.thx
@@archon453 retropie detects only 1 joystick by default, you can make the 2 being recognized but you need to change a config file, which I don't recall where it is...just google that
Hi, Great vid managed to connect the both joystick and 17 button. I then plugged it into a Windows 7 Laptop and it detected but came up with unknown device. DO you know if this is a common problem or if I need a driver that is not in Win 7. Or have I a duff board :( How you have the answer. Thanks Simon Leake
dude... i already buy a similar interface... but when i conneted to windows this advice me that hardware have problems and it cant installed.. i need to connect all butons and the joystick to make that windows reconogzie the devices?
+Juan de Dios Figueroa Try changing the USB cable. If that doesn't work then the interface may be faulty, it should be found in windows devices whether you have buttons connected or not.
Hi - I've emailed you regarding a couple of faulty buttons, and not heard back yet... but I'm also having issues with the ones that DO work being seen by Windows but not actually registering in MAME - Or with XPadder. Do you have any advice on how to sort this issue, please? ( Buttons 1 - 3 work for both players, 5, 6, 7 are OK for P2, but the rest don't register. ) In addition to this, the Left switch on P1 is prone to intermittently not registering. Are there any fixes for that? Thanks.
Please excuse the quality of the video.
I will get round to filming it again.

Question:
What if we need a 12v output and what if we only need 5v on a single button?

Does this usb interface work with the raspberry pi?

Hi Simon,
If you have a spare USB cable handy try that as sometimes the cables can cause that error.
How do I find the diagram in the video? The download link has totally different connections.
The diagram in the video is for the old model. The xin mo was updated this year
I know. It is the older diagram I am after.
