That o2 injection really gets the party started!🥳
Somehow those furnaces look like the hell, but there is no devil around, just workers doing their important everyday job.
If you are working in that environment every day, I expect that explosions and special effects in movies must seem pretty ordinary...?
yup...
Bingo !
That 60 Hz hum is creepy
Hold my beer, I'll light up the grill.😏😎
Also when you drop the charge a bunch of scrap gets caught at the door and that helps melt it
Who is the supplier? MORE?
Can anyone share some details of this lancing operation. We are exploring a similar solution for our Lead(Pb) smelters
The lance helps in melting the scrap into steel and get hotter quicker helps save on the k.w. used on the heat !
so what exactly is the "lance" oxygen used for?
It purifies molten pig iron into steel basically, along with other processes
Wow, it's like a lava flow.
Hotter than lava
There's nothing any closer to lava than slag from steel that I know !
What type of furnace is it? EAF? Wy the O2 lance?
The O2 lance helps to lower the carbon content of the steel and convert it to low-carbon steel. High-carbon steel is very brittle compared to a low-carbon steel. It can be bent and shaped without cracking.
wtf is it made of? its not melting
I worked in fords eaf for a couple of years...no o2 lance....maybe this is ladle met....working the heat before the caster.
@@ARCSTREAMS it’s water cooled internally.
@@PAHighlander24 right i forgot ,, thx
Is all that RF energy safe??
What prevents the lance from melting?
It’s water cooled.
The oxygen lance on our arc furnace had a 4” dia cooling water supply line. Approx 400 gallons/minute.
Thank you sir.
