Hi, I understand that fats are non polar and they can diffuse easily through the cell membrane. But aren't Fats huge molecules with many side chains . Will the bulky fat molecule still have a chance to diffuse out easily through the semi permeable cell membrane ?

An ex. for carrier protein that requires an energy that is not ATP is the Sodium - Glucose Pump, which is known as the Symporter. Ion Channels - do not require an energy input in order to transfer the the molecule to the other side. Channel Proteins are always passive and will have their "gates" open all the time. However they are highly selective to their own ions. Example for this would be the Potassium Ion Channel, which is highly selective and favors the K+ Ion to pass through it. I hope that helps.

And because of low polarity (It's low because of two hydrogen molecules instead of one) it can go throught cell membrane, really slow tho.
