This talk show has a rep for being a little too self centered, all revolves around its hosts and make little effort to make the guests feel comfortable or include them in on their jokes, more often than not ridiculing them even. Overall pretty lame show.
In this show they make fun of everything, starting by themselves, it is a very innocent and family oriented show which is also always trying to transmit ideas of happiness and good vibes. Most of the invited people understand this, don't take it seriously and participate in the jokes and have a lot of fun and the audience with them. Will Smith loves to attend this show which is perfect for his cheerful personality. Unfortunately, some exceptions take it seriously and assume they are laughing at them and get mad.
As a spanish and a fan of the show i totally agree with you, you shouldnt take this show too seriously, its all fun and jokes, designed for people with a good sense of humor.
Pff pls, that show and most of the "comedy shows" from Spain are related to a terribly bad sense of humor. So terrible that Justin Bieber (who is a pussy and noone can deny that) walked away from 40 principales and never came back, and that happened just because you are so used to make fun of the majority of the artists that are invited (which is not bad at all) but without thinking anout if they are ok with that. And thats what makes Spain humor pretty bad.
Of course that is your personal opinion. Now, I will give my personal opinion: I do not think that Spanish humor is "pretty bad" at all. After having lived in several countries I can assure that it is one of the funniest and "healthiest" in the sense that it's always done from a quite respectful perspective and trying not to hurt or go into personal details or bad taste issues. Something that does not happen in many other countries. It is different to laugh with someone than to make fun of someone.

In my opinion that goes pretty far into the realm of laughing about someone. They didn't want to interview her or talk about the philosophy bnehind Simone's robots or ask about her channel or future projects. It was 100% deliberate, let's speak spanish all the way, no translator (half of those people could speak english with her no problem), try the robots and move on with the show. Trash attitude from the trash jerks that do that show wich to this day I find amusing people still watches.

Dont worry, despite having famous guest, that show is quite bad. As you mention, the host is always trying to get all the attention and doesnt let the guest mostly the talk so. And Im spanish!!!
Uufff I'm spanish and I know that problem. In "El Hormiguero" It can be hard to deal some days. They are always doing too many things and run out of time and don't care about some guests. Or don't care enough. Many of them Get it easily and can follow the rhythm, but other times it can get really akward. They should apologize for that.
The problem with el Hormiguero is Pablo Motos, the conductor (and owner and producer), because the people around him are cool (el monaguillo, marron, etc)

Yeah well... El Hormiguero is known for being a shit show that doesn't even know what to do to keep being funny anymore. They really tend to fuck it up when foreign people come to their show by either not giving them a translator or not even slowing a bit so they can catch up.

I'm Spanish and I used to watch El Hormiguero. I'll tell you that even though a lot of people watch it doesn't mean it's good, I mean: the blonde girl you talked about in the vid is not even funny. She just has a pretty face and that's why she's famous. Everyone laughs with her jokes but, actually, is a very stupid humour. Also, the interviews they do to the invited celebrities are the worst. Secondly, I want to apologise for the treatment you received in the programme and let you know that unless you are the big guest star you don't get to talk at all there (although I can tell you, you are way cooler that Jennifer Lawrence). I hate it with all my guts because they use BRILLIANT people like you just for a few minutes of ooh's and aah's but they barely credit them, sometimes it's just a comedy relief (is that a thing? That talkshow (El Hormiguero) is amazingly embarrasing for us, spanish, somehow. They bring people and make fun of anything they say or do. At least the people who show stuff they do are not treated that way, but the actors who go normally end up dissapointed. sorry for that experience. :(

MrPasonte Stephen Colbert deja hablar a la gente que viene a su show. De hecho, Simone se fue a su show y presentó sus propias invenciones. Es una cosa hacer chistes cuando la otra persona te entiende, y completamente otra cuando el invitado no sabe ni hablar tu idioma.
En cuanto al show de Stephen Colbert me refería al formato. Humor absurdo e incendiario. Colbert también ha hecho pinitos en español, lo mismo que John Oliver. Donde más gracia hace ver a un americano hablando español es en el show de Conan, que había dicho que se parecía a este programa. Es cuestión de que te guste o no te guste el formato. Eso ya va en gustos, no es que lo vea ya a diario pero algún programa si que ha caído. Pablo Motos además esta haciendo un personaje, no es así como se presenta y tiene un trabajo de ayuda a los niños detrás impresionante. Aquí aparece de bufón porque eso es lo que vende y lo que le gusta a su público. Saludos

Si el programa consistiera en tener cierta seriedad con el invitado, ese programa chaparía a los 4 días, esa gente va si quiere, si no le apetece no van y ya esta. El Hormiguero esta ahí para quien le guste y tiene un publico ya determinado, no sera lo mejor, pero le da mil vueltas al Sálvame y al Gran Hermano.

As many other people here, I'm from Spain and I can tell you that El Hormiguero is total crap. Pablo is really annoying and he never lets anybody talk. I always felt really bad for anyone who has ever been there and even more if they didn't speak Spanish. You're amazing, keep it up!

Dont worry, despite having famous guest, that show is quite bad. As you mention, the host is always trying to get all the attention and doesnt let the guest mostly the talk so. And Im spanish!!!
Uufff I'm spanish and I know that problem. In "El Hormiguero" It can be hard to deal some days. They are always doing too many things and run out of time and don't care about some guests. Or don't care enough. Many of them Get it easily and can follow the rhythm, but other times it can get really akward. They should apologize for that.

Yeah well... El Hormiguero is known for being a shit show that doesn't even know what to do to keep being funny anymore. They really tend to fuck it up when foreign people come to their show by either not giving them a translator or not even slowing a bit so they can catch up.

Yes, I'm from Spain (you may be from there too) and it's such a shame. They get such celebrities with so many interesting backgrounds which could receive some actual questions, or do some jokes or whatever, but instead make shitty games no one really enjoys.

I'm Spanish and I used to watch El Hormiguero. I'll tell you that even though a lot of people watch it doesn't mean it's good, I mean: the blonde girl you talked about in the vid is not even funny. She just has a pretty face and that's why she's famous. Everyone laughs with her jokes but, actually, is a very stupid humour. Also, the interviews they do to the invited celebrities are the worst.

I just wanted to tell you that I'm from Spain and I (of course, as it is a very big thing here) know El Hormiguero. First of all, cogratulations on your work, my mind is blown right now. Secondly, I want to apologise for the treatment you received in the programme and let you know that unless you are the big guest star you don't get to talk at all there (although I can tell you, you are way cooler that Jennifer Lawrence). I hate it with all my guts because they use BRILLIANT people like you just for a few minutes of ooh's and aah's but they barely credit them, sometimes it's just a comedy relief (is that a thing? I hope so, I'm not paying an English major for nothing). Oh boy, this got too long. Sorry. Just wanted to tell you that I love your stuff, so please don't be angry with Spain (although you didn't look so, just wanted to confirm). The only programme that shows cool science and it completely sucks, so so sorry :(

That talkshow (El Hormiguero) is amazingly embarrasing for us, spanish, somehow. They bring people and make fun of anything they say or do. At least the people who show stuff they do are not treated that way, but the actors who go normally end up dissapointed. sorry for that experience. :(

MrPasonte Stephen Colbert deja hablar a la gente que viene a su show. De hecho, Simone se fue a su show y presentó sus propias invenciones. Es una cosa hacer chistes cuando la otra persona te entiende, y completamente otra cuando el invitado no sabe ni hablar tu idioma.
En cuanto al show de Stephen Colbert me refería al formato. Humor absurdo e incendiario. Colbert también ha hecho pinitos en español, lo mismo que John Oliver. Donde más gracia hace ver a un americano hablando español es en el show de Conan, que había dicho que se parecía a este programa. Es cuestión de que te guste o no te guste el formato. Eso ya va en gustos, no es que lo vea ya a diario pero algún programa si que ha caído. Pablo Motos además esta haciendo un personaje, no es así como se presenta y tiene un trabajo de ayuda a los niños detrás impresionante. Aquí aparece de bufón porque eso es lo que vende y lo que le gusta a su público. Saludos
