That's very interesting man. Keep posting these please. A quick question, How did you learn how to design the lever (I'm not talking about the pallets or escape wheel, I'm just talking about the lever, fork horns and the guard pin in your last design.). Do you follow a book or something? or you did it based on trial and error?
Thanks! The fork design was all trial and error, and I tried designing it without using any references to get the fullest learning experience out of it. It still gets caught pretty often though, and it definitely needs a lot more work, but I'm definitely going to be doing some research into how to make it more reliable. I just got George Daniels' Watchmaking book, and hope to use some of the concepts he lays out in it.
