This info layed out in this way, I cannot express how valuable this is. You cut out all the chaffe and lay out a path from either the Business analyst - product owner route or the developer route to the PL-600. Love this
Thanks so much on the certification guide. Completed my PL-900 yesterday. There were 34 questions. Questions are quite straight forward. 2 questions related to recent Power Page functions.
Thank you for this detailed guide, Lisa - I have a bit of test anxiety and this definitely helped me understand what to expect and where to start now that I've finished the Power Up program and have a certification voucher!
So glad to have helped, and good luck! The other thing that might help with your exam anxiety is to do this exam simulator, to get a feel for how the format of the exam runs (these are dummy questions but it shows you the experience really well) aka.ms/ExamDemo
Appreciate your efforts Lisa... the temporary setup you did to record the video....really appreciate it. I didn't feel any video quality issues as I onlt focused on the great content you delivered ❤
Thank you so much, really appreciate it. The video quality came up fine for a small image, not so great when I tried to make it bigger! I will definitely double check my webcam every time I leave the office now!
It amazes me how well you're able to simplify all of this. As someone coming from CompTIA certifications, which are quite linear or sequential, trying to navigate Microsoft's certifications site has been a bit of a nightmare. Thank you so much for putting this together!
Real nice and detailed video! Currently just starting the Power up course so I will be going for my PL-200 next before trying to get consulting experience! Would love a video on how dynamics plays a role in the consultant/architecting jobs and to see a path that comes with it ☺️
As always, your video contents are valuable. I have watched all your videos including in LinkedIn Learning. Hoping you can add more end to end project using these fantastic Microsoft products. I am scheduled to get this exam next week. Kudos to you.
Great overview video Lisa. I noticed there were two associate paths to achieving the architect certification. It's a little disappointing that the other three aren't part of that path.
The two that give you that path are the ones with the much broader base across different elements of building apps on the platform, which is the right baseline for an architect.
Hey Lisa, just came across your channel and loving these informative videos. If you could possibly make a video on getting a job as a consultant/developer for Power Platform/Dynamics 365, that would be the best. Got my PL-900 and MB-910 certs and working on PL-100 and when I look at jobs, for all of them I am seeing that they need on the job experience and I am not sure how to land my first job with only my self taught knowledge and experience.
You'll find it very hard to get a job as a consultant without prior experience, you're more likely to get a job as an in-house maker/developer in an organisation in a field where you have some expertise in the domain and can apply that to making apps - even if it's part of the job to start with. I"m going to to some more content on careers this year.
Hi Lisa, Thank you so much for this video. It's a pretty interesting and excellent guide for people that we want to start a career in this field and understand what the options are and how to approach the studies in order to get those certifications. Could you please do a video explaining Dynamics 365, how to start a career, and the possible ways to get certifications. Thanks again.
I've just done a new video on the Dynamics 365 certifications here. Working out how to put something together for career guidance, that is coming up a lot. Thanks for the support and suggestions. th-cam.com/video/hLWMrC9W-OU/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much Lisa for this detailed video! Really helpful! You told that dump is illegal but if you can take it as reference then you can learn from there also. I mean pattern of question can be guessed and can do the preparation better. Isn't it?😊
Exam dumps are made by people illegally sharing exam content and I do not recommend using them. When you do the exam you have to declare that you have not used them. The free sample exam questions I show in the video here will help you understand the question format to practice.
Good day Lisa. Thanks a lot for helping us with certification! Please, advice what apps i will need to have installed on my PC for PL-900 certification. What especially bothers me is the exercise where i need to create model driven app. I don't have a dataverse for that. Regards, Rufina
hello Lisa, First I appreciate your effort in making these videos second, I want to study for the PL-200 Exam but I don't know where I should start, and I need sequential videos that I can follow to be organized and not distracted what should I do and is there is a series of videos you made it as a course for PL-200 Exam thanks in advance.
Thank you for everything :-) I recently had exposure to Microsoft's ADO (which i believe stands for Azure Dev Ops) and it is probably built "adjacent to" Sharepoint (?). Is there a learning path that covers that? I found that ADO is closely tied to "SAFe" (Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise).
Yes, there are heaps of learning paths on other Microsoft technologies beyond what I’ve covered here just for Power Platform. Here’s the path for Azure DevOps learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/paths/evolve-your-devops-practices/
Hi Lisa, thanks for this excelent video. Please let me know where would it be reliable to study for certifications? I will be grateful if you recommend a study center that prepares the proper level and seriousness. Thanks and hace a nice day Lisa!
Hi Lisa, thank you for such a detailed pathway. I have an experience in developing PowerApp and PowerAutomate solutions for our various clients. I have dealt with complicated PowerApps for around 2 years now. I am planning to get certified with the PL-200 and then move on to PL-600 since the PL-200 will have everything in it, BI, Apps and Automate. And PL-600 will be a senior level certification as it’s for solution architects. What are your thoughts on this?
By pro-code developer, are you referring to PowerFX or programming languages like C#? This is in regards to the section related to the PL-400 exam. Great video, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Could you possibly update this to account for the retirement of PL100 and the new practical assessments for Power Platform that have been released in the past year?
Hey Lisa can you share with us the data samples that you used in your tutorials? That would be very helpful fur us to practice along with the videos. I visited your TH-cam profile and your website but couldn’t find any.
Really appreciate this - it can be so confusing! I started studying for the powerbi one last year but i honestly dont love powerbi. then i started working on power apps in december. I have started studying for the 900 and so far its . . super easy? I really loved your summary and will probably watch it again after i do the 900 and 100
PL900, 100, 200 and 600, which is the full path for the job I do. I'm not a pro developer, Power BI, or RPA person so I didn't do the others (or at least not yet).
Great guide! It's a shame that all of this isn't provided as a free service. The industry of making developers pay thousands of dollars in certification costs semi-annually often seems very predatory, especially with the nitpicking double negative trickery type of questions on many of these tests.
Hi actually i got a job offer as a RPA developer i wanted to know if we can switch from RPA to any other fields like is it possible to switch to power bi or data engineer or cloud and is RPA a good role to start for fresher ?
hello lisa i want to become functional consultant but cannot find guidance in customization and solution ,workflow , business' process flow im stuck in basic customization please help there is no specific lecture
This is my video tutorial on customisations which might help you get to the next level. Also have a look at the learning path on Microsoft Learn for PL-200 and MB-210 (if you are looking at CRM) th-cam.com/video/CrlxnlxVjJM/w-d-xo.html
Oops sorry, thank you, I forgot to add that. I've added it now - and here it is: Skills Measured: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/certifications/resources/study-guides/pl-900 Free Practice Assessment: learn.microsoft.com/certifications/exams/pl-900/practice/assessment?assessment-type=practice&assessmentId=34
No, format of practice exam of PL-900 is not completely same as real exam. In real exam there are fill in the blanks, true or false, match the column etc. but in practice test, only objective question is there
Depends a lot on your experience and which level you are doing. For the fundamentals exam a standard training course from zero is probably a full day. For the associate level more like 3-4 days if you have zero experience, less if you have experience but need to fill knowledge gaps or revise.
@LisaCrosbie thanks for that valuable feedback. I can see value to invest that sort of time into building that knowledge. Small business owners need to be across so much technology nowadays. Business data and digital business systems are vitally important.
Am thinking to just study 900 but not write exam then study 100 and write exam then do 400 exam. Is it an ok route or i can just put all effort to study even 100 without exam then just write 400?
I would recommend just doing the exams that help your career. 900 is good for general knowledge and business value (eg sales), 100 for low code makers where app building is part of another job and 400 is for professional developers
You don’t have to do the full sequence, 600 is the only one with a prerequisite, otherwise just pick that exam that best fits what you want to be doing.
Ah, sorry to disappoint you on that - interesting that there is a gap in PL100 content though, I'll see what I can put together, thanks for the suggestion
The Learn tutorials are good but nothing beats hands on experience. Are there apps you can start developing for your workplace or for other use cases you’re interested in?
This info layed out in this way, I cannot express how valuable this is. You cut out all the chaffe and lay out a path from either the Business analyst - product owner route or the developer route to the PL-600. Love this
Awesome, thanks for that feedback, so glad to know it hit the mark!
Nice video! Good overview for this path! I've passed the 900, 100, and 200. Going to be taking the 400 next month.
Good luck!
Thanks so much on the certification guide.

You don’t need to install any apps. You can sign up for a free developer plan for Dataverse / model driven apps - aka.ms/PowerAppsDeveloperPlan

PL900 is super easy if you have experience building things in the platform. You'll find 100 and 200 much more challenging. Good luck!
Heard that Microsoft had canceled PL-100... So directly to PL-200 or PL-400?
Hey Lisa how many of these certificates did you have ??
PL900, 100, 200 and 600, which is the full path for the job I do. I'm not a pro developer, Power BI, or RPA person so I didn't do the others (or at least not yet).
