This is my 28th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH.
Coincidentally I saw the video 'Summertime' on NGT and I thought, wow, another talented girl who will disappear from the music scene when her voice matures, like almost all of them, but I saw in the comments that she didn't seem to be a flower of a day, it stung me curious and looked for more. The next thing was 'Bohemiam Rhapsody' and my astonishment was enormous, then 'I put a spell on you' came along and changed my perspective completely, that wasn't even reasonable, it couldn't be, it wasn't normal. After that I've watched every single one of the 150+ videos on youtube, some many times, and my amazement just keeps growing. I don't know any singer, current or past, with this vocal quality. The Gods of music have many of them in their laps, Ella, Billie, Aretha, Donna, Whitney ... but I think AJ will have his own place in the Pantheon.
Yes, this is Angelina. They must have told her not to laugh because we only see a quick glimpse of a smile a couple times, then back to the serious face. Her natural eyes are dark brown but she has been wearing blue contacts sometimes lately. It makes for a startling look. This video was probably either her or her grandmother’s idea. I’ve probably heard this song all my life, and she sang it perfectly, adding all her little touches that makes listening to her so pleasing to the ear.
This was fabulous and she covered all the bases in this one. I don't know how to exactly say this but what we just heard is an indication of what we have to expect in the future. But, her voice will have matured to another level which will be something we have never heard before from anyone, past or present. The element of jazz is the dividing line and I believe in time her style will create a new genre, the Angelina genre which incorporates different levels of jazz into whatever genre of music she decides to sing. Unfortunately, and I speak for many, many others in my age group, we might not be around when this happens so we enjoy every moment right now and envy all of you who will experience her for years to come. I will make a prediction and I hope I last long enough to see it happen: Angelina will star in a movie about a jazz singer. The movie will win the Academy Award, she will win the Best Actress Award and one of the songs in the movie will win the Song Of The Year Award. Oh, it will be her first movie. And when she accepts the awards each time with humbleness and radiate everyone in the audience and those watching from all over the world on TV with her love which is absolutely impossible to resist. Great reaction to a Brilliant Vocalist, the Best! Her singing is timeless, fits in the past, present and future. She is now 16, almost 6'1" and yes wearing contacts. She has mentioned that she is getting into modeling and her movements are them kind of movements. She does hang with Heidi Klum, so time will tell, but she definitely has the looks and build to be one of the best models out there, just like singing, even her book is brilliant. Fil, she stands 6'1" tall and if she stopped singing tomorrow she could be a super-model in a week. She is also very smart. So her official video is not quite so narcissistic. This is the footage they used in the official video. So this is a behind the scenes video. So have you noticed she is accessing her head voice a lot more. It is a lot stronger than it has been to date. It makes for such an easy way to get to those high notes without hurting her vocal apparatus. Her piano player is a Grammy Award winning producer who is one half of the musical duo Stargate. Mikkel Eriksen has worked with a lot of big names. Beyonce', Rihanna and Mary J Blige for example. All I can say is that Angelina, as a person and as a vocalist, has improved the quality of my life in ways that are hard to describe. Her music inspires me to be more creative and motivates me to want to make the world a better place. I don't think there are any higher compliments one can give to a fellow human being. I, along with other angels, have embarked on an inspired mission to transform the culture of the music reaction world on TH-cam, and also make it a better place by suggesting that reaction channels go beyond just cookbook reactions. I and fellow angels are recommending that reactors be creative in inspiring and educating viewers how to elevate support for the artists. This may include providing all links and recommending that viewers utilize those links. It should be a natural thing to do and both reaction Channel and artists benefit. Dozens of channels have now implemented creative ideas, including our basic suggestions, and are having greater success with their channels.
This is a great comment Andy. I concur 100%. I also have been working with hundreds of reactors on TH-cam over the past year encouraging them to better support the artists they feature. You have to realize that these young kids who are trying to make it big in the industry have nothing but their fans and TH-cam reactors to help promote them. I think reactors, with their unique platforms, are are in a unique position to help these artists advance their careers. They should provide the links to the official channels and the original video. They should encourage the viewers to like comment and subscribe to those links, either verbally or with text boxes. They should do everything possible to help the artists that they are dependent on, for they will get a reward in return in the form of more subscriptions to their own channel due to fan loyalty. You can have crappy audio quality of whatever technical timeage it comes from..... Digital processing of audio signals does not necessarily mean good quality. Most of what is sold on the mass marked today is just cheap junk. It isn't even close to a high quality analoge signal taken from a vinyl LP. High end analog systems are still unbeatable. It seem like you never have listened to an analog hi-fi system playing LP. There was actually a developement also in that area. You seem to believe tlhat LP's always sounded like in the 1920 and 1930 .

She has started wearing make-up and wearing blue contact lenses. What do you expect for a wildly popular and uber talented vocalist at 16 years old and living in L.A.. Fil, she stands 6'1" tall and if she stopped singing tomorrow she could be a super-model in a week. She is also very smart. So her official video is not quite so narcissistic. This is the footage they used in the official video. So this is a behind the scenes video. So have you noticed she is accessing her head voice a lot more. It is a lot stronger than it has been to date. It makes for such an easy way to get to those high notes without hurting her vocal apparatus.
Her piano player is a Grammy Award winning producer who is one half of the musical duo Stargate. Mikkel Eriksen has worked with a lot of big names. Beyonce', Rihanna and Mary J Blige for example. He said only two artists are always ready to do a song in one take. One was Beyonce' , then he said now there is one more, Angelina Jordan. I know I messed up that quote, but you get the point. How impressive is Angelina? You think perhaps the next Elvis? It goes much further than that. All I can say is that Angelina, as a person and as a vocalist, has improved the quality of my life in ways that are hard to describe. Her music inspires me to be more creative and motivates me to want to make the world a better place. I don't think there are any higher compliments one can give to a fellow human being. I, along with other angels, have embarked on an inspired mission to transform the culture of the music reaction world on TH-cam, and also make it a better place by suggesting that reaction channels go beyond just cookbook reactions. This is a great comment Andy. I concur 100%. I also have been working with hundreds of reactors on TH-cam over the past year encouraging them to better support the artists they feature. You have to realize that these young kids who are trying to make it big in the industry have nothing but their fans and TH-cam reactors to help promote them. I think reactors, with their unique platforms, are are in a unique position to help these artists advance their careers. They should provide the links to the official channels and the original video. They should encourage the viewers to like comment and subscribe to those links, either verbally or with text boxes. They should do everything possible to help the artists that they are dependent on, for they will get a reward in return in the form of more subscriptions to their own channel due to fan loyalty. You can have crappy audio quality of whatever technical timeage it comes from..... Digital processing of audio signals does not necessarily mean good quality. Most of what is sold on the mass marked today is just cheap junk. It isn't even close to a high quality analoge signal taken from a vinyl LP. High end analog systems are still unbeatable. It seem like you never have listened to an analog hi-fi system playing LP. There was actually a developement also in that area. You seem to believe tlhat LP's always sounded like in the 1920 and 1930 .
