AO us a awesome company. I used to use his plugins a lot before I was able to purchase a better selection of tools. For mastering I'm sure they're great since you don't need to have very many running at once. But for a entire 50-100 track mix loaded up with them....holy cow are they cpu heavy. Almost as bad as Acoustica. My mac M1 pro chip can have trouble keeping up.
I've made several DIY versions of MOMA, gotta say I prefer the hardware version every time because even at max settings it doesn't sound harsh or aggressive like the plugin. Even if I leave out the capacitor that smooths out the high end, it still doesn't get annoyingly harsh like the plugin.
Just want to mention that NAM is the Best free option for guitar amplifier simulation. It's completely free, very light on rescources (except CPU) and you have virtually unlimited amps. It is literally a God-send. Thx Sage Audio for sharing these plugins with us. I am actually really compelled to get a Sage Audio Membership.
@@sageaudio I'm wondering what other effects you're using on the mastering chain..... before / after the effect this video is about. I doubt it's the only plugin you're using, so what's going into this plugin.... what's used after it.... Obviously, knowing this is useful info for us, the viewers 😊
Won't the Dual mono function of this plugin solve the complicated way of individually isolating L&R with 2 tracks? I guess this works for me on Logic pro 🤔(Or maybe there are problems which I'm not aware of..)

Actually, distortion its a kind of compresion, nam nail that perfectly, maybe you can't mess with parameters but, of copurse nam captures ''compresion behavior''
@@bukowskimoho Compression is based on time (attack & release) and therefore NAM does not reproduce it. NAM perfectly reproduces harmonics, saturation with respect to frequency band, etc.
@@poddenerwowany it's on the distortion and saturation behavior, for example I've tried a few nam profiles from a few fuzz pedals, and they compress the transients and release depending of the fuzz character, so maybe you can't mess with parameters but nam does captures compression from the units you are playing.
thanks for the demo, however i think the sound source is too dynamic.. its houls be a more dull sound, like a drum loop with some bass and a vocal perhaps, so make note of the changes in the sound.. the sound source is too dynamic with many changes in the songs structure, it just makes it hard to follow to changes.
We've got a few different videos on mixing plugins! If you go to our channel and just search 'mixing plugins' in the bar for that you'll find a bunch of different topics. Free ones included!
all i can think about, when audio engineers talk about compression and or dynamics (or pretty much anything in general), is how I cannot hear a single goddamn difference. None
Great video as always, thanks! For those who are wondering: the song is 'Trouble' by Books on Tape, top tune if you ask me!
we need a full mix & master with ANALOG OBSESSION
This would be a blessing !!!
That would be a great video
We all know it would sound excellent 😊🤘

@@EricJohnson-fh8zj nice appointment bro, thats really important to know, thx for the comment
Oh wow! I haven’t used the NaM plugin in a while and they hadn’t really started capturing other gear besides amps back then. This is exciting!

So, where in your Mastering chain are these plugins placed?
What other effects are you using?
That would be helpful to know......
Which ones in particular did you have questions on?

Sorry but you're wrong sir. It does. Try some AnalogXai or Past to future compressors captures.
How is the CPU usage on Neural Amp Modeler
Typically it is high CPU.
