Looks cool. I really like the art style, and the game seems like it has a lot of potential. My one concern is that it could get quite overwhelming and tiring to individually move pieces to make the most of their cool down. Even manually moving three farmers and three defenders in real time seems tricky. I'd imagine during an attack you'd basically ignore the farmers in favor of the stronger units.
    Good luck on the project!

It's definitely something that I'll be addressing in the next devlog as you're absolutely right, it got cumbersome having to move all of the units manually when you have loads of pieces and you're focussing on enemies :)

Very nice concept! When a piece is not destroyed in one go I’d move the attacker back where he was for every type of piece.

Looks cool! Looking forward to seeing more to come. The idea of a chess dungeon boss that you beat by bringing an army of upgraded chess pieces seems awesome.

As a lover of Sokpop games and Chess, this looks promising! Can't wait to see where this goes

An idea to bring back a bit more turn based strategy to your game could be having the time slow down around any un-moved pieces (This may only apply to pieces in combat or close to your camera), also you could add a routine system which allows a farmer for example, to repeat a given schedule. Also I would like to see the edition of boats, caravans and level generation some how. This could function as a way to move multiple pieces in an orderly fashion, or maybe transporting resources (not sure whether that is actually a thing in your game). Any way looks great, good work!

Ooh, what if castles could only move a couple spaces every few seconds? Like a cooldown. And when they did, a bunch of tiny people carried the castle around?

This looks really solid so far, I look forward to seeing it developed!

Awesome idea and art, but the game could get increasingly overwhelming having to manage each of the individual pieces.

Nice game idea and mechanics 👌🤩
Watch out for the click count with the mouse though. You could implement an automatic selection system (auto-select the next piece ready) nor and automatic mode (AI driven) to toggle on/off on pieces.
    Some ideas:
    1. The horse/piggy increase fertility of the soil after passing by a tile and make stuff grow faster ;
    2. To succeed you need to craft a crown.
Keep up the good work, the game looks fun already!

I really like this idea , personally im not the greatest fan of the artstyle, other people seem to like it a lot tho so no pressure. But if u ever decide to change it and want an artist i would be more than willing to help. Anyways keep up the amazing work.

Can u do like a two level up and Evolutions for each tower or piece stronger. They have to be certain levels to evolve. Like the idea or no

I like the idea, but I don't like the execution. I would do a more true-to-source approach: instead of health, I would only make unprotected pieces killable. with this mechanic, 1 tower can easily guard a big amount of pawns.

    • @IterationGames

This might be cool as a piece ability even if not for the whole game :)
