Wow that piano intro was absolutely incredible
Evans-like.
Michel Graillier
Michel Grailler was one of the best jazz piano player in the world 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
.Forlane "à la mémoire du lieutenant Gabriel Deluc" Ravel Davis copied this theme.

i often chuckle when people say they don't know where to find good music.
We will not forget the exceptional French pianist Michel Graillier disappeared in 2003 in the general indifference.

'some people say that life is a breath'
For sure people who known him and listened his piano, we will never forget Michel Graillet.
Sory indeed !
I didn't know him, though I could see he's perfect for the job, his sound on piano is emotionally rich, he was an awesome player. I need to know more about him. Did he disappear? What happened with him?
This is the best rendition of nardis out there
Agreed. More precious than gold.
THE best then, now, and forever
Chet Baker's perfection is just that - what a beautiful moment captured - more soul out of a horn will never again be heard - we are lucky to have this and all his recorded music - what a sound - what a contribution - still deep within the dream am I while listening here in 2024✨

Also enjoy version by Joe Henderson off 1968 "The Kicker" .as good, both supreme
I will say - this is the most tasteful intro to this song I've heard, i just love it
i'd even say ever. this intro is everything i'm living for
As someone said above, this intro surpassed some of ones from Bill Evans himself. Bill and Chet are both legends.
Michel has one of the greatest sounds when playing the piano, lovely touch .
I like this intro better than the Evans versions I've heard -- the pianist is the late Michel Graillier. His style suits this session perfectly. The more I listen to these tunes, the more I realize this whole thing is just really unreal.
Chet as with any great legend wouldn't play with hacks, that's for sure. I really like Diane with Paul Bley also.
Bill invented the progression and harmonies
Listen to the rendition from the Paris Concert Edition Two. Miles ahead of this one in my opinion.
@@arvaborelius7269Not a competition. Just playing the tune.
@@SmeeUncleJoe’Diane’ is my favorite album by Chet Baker. The pairing with the lyric and adventurous Paul Bley is a marvelous gem!
I wasn't expecting too much but this blew me away. Great performance from all three. Outstanding players. Love Chet's lyricism and tone here.
Agreed.
I read somewhere that Chet used a Bach 6A mouthpiece, a hard 'piece to find these days. I was able to obtain a 5A though, and by comparison to the 3C I usually play, it was a whole different sound! It was that Chet sound. It's not *all* the mouthpiece, of course, but if you want to sound like Chet, it would sure help.
He is using 6c, he always used a 6c after his teeth accident
I have no words for the intro to this song. I know Bill was smiling ear to ear to hear such Evans like playing.
Timeless interpretation of Nardis. Thank you for positing.
Chet’s feel comes across in that he gives it the necessary room to breathe in this, yes, he probably could have poured more sauce on this, but an experienced player understands what you don’t play is as important as what you play. Coupled with the immaculate piano and bass, what a well considered performance all round.
The piano intro takes me through all my sweet memories.
Sublime. Perfect for a pandemic summer's evening.
Plandemic.
To me this sounds way more wintery.
This is the best version of this I've heard. His playing is just exquisite.
Indeed.
There's 3 guys playing, so, which one are you referring to? and, the other 2 guys suck, or ?
Well obviously it's under Chet Baker's name and he's the soloist so he refers to him. I think that's quite clear.
Splendid piano accompaniment
Geniálný Chet Baker.
Humility absorbed in music only without any ego.....He was an angel when he plays and Chet Baker no more....
Absolutely gorgeous chords and touch and feel....wow. Trumpet us sweet too, with beautiful supporting bass ❤️
I love this man and his great phrasing, both vocally and when playing the trumpet. Funny Valentine is sublime.
Chet Baker my beloved perfectionist 💕🇬🇷
Beautiful, RIP
Absolutely exquisite.
Fabulous. Love the piano player. Thanks for this.
this is true music
It always amazes me how the gift can still shine through the evilness of heroin.
Chet inoubliable,,,,Une trés belle interpretation ...Merci ...
Goosebumps
The tone of the bass is incredible. I wonder why electric double bass is not more popular
This is absolutely beautiful I could listen to this all day
Marvellous
I do listen to it quite often on repeat :)
Yes me too in Audtralia.
The piano is sublime..love the introduction then the.piano solo ..exqusite
Pianist has the game in a chokehold
Chet foi um trumpetista muito delicado e sensível....tenho vários discos e sou fã!
Yes intimate muse on a wonderfull tune deep like a lake of refreshing.
RIP, Chet the hands above caught you. Always.
Great, great piano also.
Bravo !!!!
Chet..Sublime..Soulful
Strung out on dope and can still play better then anyone I met in all my years playing the horn. God damn.
Assolutamente fantastico.ci manchi maledettamente Chet
nardis is a special tune to improvise over because of it's phrygian nature...

Top 👍🏼
Very Evans like pianist......pity he is not credited. Chet in good form.
there where 2 pianist on this live record, its either Michel Graillier or Red Mitchell.
its Michel Graillier im pretty sure, upon further reshearch.
It’s michelle graillier
Nardis was written by Miles Davis & it first was heard on Portrait of Cannonball. It well known that Bill wrote the two tunes on Kind Of Blue.
@@maximbelmont4641 Oh no Miles stole to Bill Evans. It is a fact now.
Such a great album smooth lyrical Chet Rassinfosse and Graillier as sympathetic as can be in terrific stone library with perfect acoustics. One of my first jazz CD's after seeing the "Let's Get Lost Movie" and now about 10K more down the line still one of the best
This trio is very stylish!
Très belle prestation musicale. La maitrise instrumentale et musicale sont communicatives. La mise en place est parfaite.
Ah......so great
It feels so good...
Thank you for posting this, it’s one of my favorite tunes 🙏🏻
Loved it!
The best of the best records. That is it
Love this arrangement so much !
Listen to any of the Bill Evans versions. Nothing compares.
This is without a doubt my favorite recording of Nardis, a tune that most improvisers just aimlessly doodle through.
flying with Chet
Really nice. Thanks for posting.

È una composizione di Miles Davis, ma lui non l’ha mai registrata
Thanks for sharing it!

Madvillian’s already used it on Raid brother
Anyone know what make and model of bass being played? Great sound!
Van Zalinge from Holland. Quite popular '70-'80ies.

Does anybody know if this session is available on CD?
