I don't want to be the paragraph guy, but I will summarize as a TL;DR In part 1, the alien discovers "recess", identifying swings, jungle gyms, slides, tag, and hide-and-seek as combat training. In part 2, a human ambassador and a xenobiologist discuss planets like earth with excess calories leading to 'boredom' as an instinct, and thus play during break times instead of napping. The conclusion is to apologize for hiding this from the aliens.
Honesty most aliens would have somethings similar just based off of earth animals. Most intelligent predators on earth have some kind of "play" for exercise and learn skills for hunting. Although a dog might flail around a toy for fun, evolutionary it finds that fun because its good practice for when it finds a squirrel. When baby lions play fight, they end up gaining experience without the risk and damage of actual combat. Humans arent unique when it comes to playing and althought aliens might be different, i doubt it
@jimmiedmc1 that would require a entirely different system of evolution to accur on every planet exept earth but competition is one of the biggest evolutionary pressures
@@royalwolf27There is more to it, but look up: "TFOS #306: Human training & Human tra...". Sorry thats where it cut off on my phone, it has three names apparently.

@@josephwerner2935maybe if they evolved without competition but our own history proves weve competed with other human spieces in ancient times

When i heard stalking i immediately thought : tag
Yeah, tag, hide and seek, etc
Which is also dumb because almost all intelligent life on earth also has some form of "play"
When I heard of stalking I thought of having a crush
