You have the patience of a saint. I really enjoyed these 2 videos. Watching all of the problems convinces me to stay with an all metal vintage machine. Singer 400, 500 series, Kenmore 158-1941, 158-1802, 158-1430, etc. Thank you for sharing and bless you 🙏
The actual mechanics of this series are made for eternity, just the capacitors and a bunch of solve-able electronics might become an issue. My Prisma 990 had a tyristor broken some years ago, a 60ct Part vs 180 EUR for a new board. Husqvarna did some cheapskating on the electronics tho...
Loctite makes a ton of products that would work for situations like that pin. The nice thing about most of their products is they can be removed with heat. Thanks for all the great content, your maintenance series got my $10 White 988 working like new!
This is getting an Eric the Viking odyssey - very educative stuff, nice material on debugging and troubleshooting basically of any kind of machinery. You know what they say once an engineer always an engineer ;). To make Your chances of surviving live power operations, get an isolation transformer. Such device separates the circuit form the gourd, thus there is no chance to get electrocuted by shorting a potential to ground. Only way is to get shocked is to close a circuit with hands - still possible bul less probable. If You can't find one, it can be made by getting two identical one with appropriate output power and connecting them back to back.
Excellent patience diagnosing and repairing both electric and mechanical challenges. Very educational and enjoyable video. Watching you resolving the electric issue explains why I love my cast iron all mechanical machines. There is so much I have to learn regarding electricity. Thank you for a great video.
Hi, I have a Husqvarna Prisma 940 here in my basement, with a broken food-pedal. The pedal didnt work for slow speed, then it suddently ran at full speed! I tried to repair it, but I broke the food-pedal -_- so I wonder if there are other pedals with the same technic. You have a Prisma,.. could you open up the food pedal and tell me what kind of resitor is inside? That would be very nice. broke-guy with a broken sewing-machine
I have this exact model. Opened the power supply, and it's exactly the same as yours, except... they've encased it in epoxy resin. I can't actually do anything to it. So weird.

Just when all seemed lost you swooped in with your sewing machine super powers and saved the day!! Excellent job and very instructive. God bless.🙏

I was right there with you frustrated and then finally victory! I have a Viking 900 that isn’t feeding. Maybe I’ll look further. Thank you!
You, my good sir, have the patience of Job. Excellent job.
Excellent job and thank you for not using JB Weld, it's not the cure all everyone thinks it is. Good video, Thank You...

I ran into the same thing. Was pretty surprised to find it potted like that. I'd have to cut out some of the plastic cover to get at the components.
Any chance you can tell is the pinout on that connector? 3 pins looks like they're from the pedal but it's not clear what the other's are for.
Дякую за відео! Дуже допомогло відремонтувати мою машинку.
Amazing content!! time to install a caterpillar in the take-up lever huh?
I need to find some of those.
I have a 940. The stitch length light is not working. Do you know where I can get a replacement?
Is steel an adequate conductor for that?
My God, Man! Rubber gloves at the very least when you're flirting with disaster! LOL
Comment régler la mémoire de la machine husqvarna prisma 990 s'il-vous-plaît et merci
Brownie points!
the inside of that machine is confusing, doubt i'll ever have a machine with electronics or computer
Where is Part 1?
Kool
Cooked re tifier diodes!
Dodgy transformers I suspect.
