We used the Juki DNU-1541s to make a whole lot of stuff for the US military. It is the machine I learned how to sew on. I also went out and bought one. Start by buying the Juki, then figure out what you "Can not" do with it. Buy those machines later. All you need is Juki.
i have an ordinary machine and also have home sewing machine and in 40 years I had a lot of good and bad times but when I got the industrial machine I went very smoothly and the quality of my products is fantastic... good quality comes in good machines...
Just unpacked my TL2010, ready to make snow dog booties. Ready to be independent and glad for customer service which I do not have in my area. Thank you for your helpful information. Makes me happy, happy
Agree- I have an industrial (Juki DDL-8700-7) and I also have a Bernina Aurora 450 and juki F600 domestic sewing machines for sewing knits. But I’ll rather just have all industrial sewing machines for sewing knits too. prefer sewing with an industrial sewing machine.
I have a TL-2010Q; I got it about 5 or 6 years ago and I absolutely love it. About 3 years ago I upgraded from my little Singer to an HZL-DX7, and the two machines compliment each other and do everything I want to do. I rarely make bags, etc., mainly quilts and I usually do my own quilting. The TL is awesome for that. I use both machines for piecing, and the DX7 is fantastic for all those decorative stitches and great features. I"m a totally happy Juki owner!
My mom tought me how to sew throughout my teenage years (so at least 20 years ago) on an old industrial singer. Then, when I left for university she got me a travel machine for me to be able to fix up my stuff. I've been missing the industrial ever since so I bought a used old juki for 100$ off of marketplace, it needed a bit of love but otherwise is working like a charm.
Just got my 1541S. It is a beast! I put the stand, motor and the entire thing together myself. What I will say…. It does NOT like thinner layers. If you do quilt cotton at all…. Don’t get the 1541S. Unless you have another machine to use along side it like I do. I have the TL18 as well. I love them both equally the same.
I love my Juki DX2000, my Juki 2010Q and my Juki industrial DU-1181N. I sew clothes, bags, quilts and do Free motion quilting. I wouldn’t get rid of any of them as they all have a purpose and overlap to an extent.
Thank you, I lost my job at Christmas Trees Shops last August. My gift to myself was a Juki TL 2010Q from your shop in Florida. I live in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. I absolutely Love my Juki. I own a Brother Sew/emb Dreamweaver 2600D also. Love the straight stitch Juki so very much. I saw so many quilter u tubers using that machine. I wanted a Juki for a while. I sewed on a Singer 357 all metal machine for years, it was a great machine. Owned a Bernina too.
Great show I don't think I would ever need an industrial machine later on down the road I would be interested in a Juki mid to long arm that could set on a frame. But I am so happy with my TL 2010 I got last summer, I am glad I made the step from domestic to simi-industial, it really sold me on Juki Machines!!
Thank you. Your jukijunkie shop is amazing. I've just found you and have learned more in this week than all the dealers around me and online!!! Thank you so much for all the information I've learned so far and more to come!!!!
Excellent advice. I've been considering an industrial machine, and after watching this video I've decided to stick with my 2200 QVP. It does 90% of what I need it to, really well. You just saved me a ton of money....😉. Thank you. Mark.....
As a side note, I've watched several garment factory videos out of East and South Asia. While they all do use industrial machines, they use like a dozen different types of industrial machines for sewing the various garment pieces together, each specialized for the task. Also, if you want to make bags, you need to clarify what kind of material you want to make your bags out of: vinyl, cork, leather, cotton lightweight canvas, etc.?
One of my favorite visits years back at Juki America was seeing all the specific task machines. It’s AMAZING what’s out there. It’s also fascinating to visits factories in Miami; love ❤️. Gigi
This was great! Thank you! I have the Juki 2010 and absolutely LOVE it. I do lots of bags, and the speed at which I can quilt is phenomenal! I was contemplating a larger industrial, but you gave such great info that I decided to hold off for a while. Need my space.... Thank you SEW much for the straightforward information. Priceless!
Omg I’m so glad I came across this video!!! That is what happened to me when I got my Janome MC6700. Got told it was a semi industrial sewing machine and as I was getting more into my sewing quickly realized it was NOT! I spent 2 grand on this thing! It was supposed to be my last sewing machine. I still have it but I also have a TL18 as well! Love that machine and i tend to use my TL More than my Janome.
I did my research. I wasn’t gonna be happy until I could sew, leather and vinyl and everything in between just jump in and buy that machine Viva la vie.
I bought a 2010 because I was told it would do what I needed, But I have used it 2x and the foot doesn;t go high enough for me :( (I use metal gear with the thick fabric stuff) So, Now it just sits. So Been trying to sell it. Sigh I Wish they were honest with me with this machine, and I would have spent a big more and got something else. Thanks for all you do!
I’ve watched so many of your videos… Having been paralyzed and unable to come to a decision and pull the trigger. Just spoke (more of an emotionally driven rambling) I was nick! I literally just purchased the TL 2010Q. I’ve been sewing and frustrating myself for 20+ years with a 1950’s Necchi (I cannot even pick it up!) recently graduated to an inherited 1963 New Home (Janome). Every time I go into a quilt shop, I’m attacked by Ber***a salesman who have effectively prejudiced me against the whole brand. Enter Juki and Juki Junkies! Thank you for all your videos and transparency! Kristen was so helpful! She confirmed what I think I already knew and educated me as well! So grateful for you! I hope you are blessed by our Lord God!
I think I’ll give you guys a call. I have a Juki J150QVP I purchased last June 2022 that I haven’t been able to sew on because of an error msg that was there when I turned the machine on. No one in my area to service this machine.
I am serious looking forward to that next video for sure! I love my TL2010Q! But I believe I’m ready for an Industrial. I will admit, I am a little intimidated by them though. I’m glad to hear you guys will be there to help me along the way.
I was scared too, but I got so tired of my domestic kept breaking and needing repair (not Juki)...and obviously my machines weren't made for the kind of sewing I was doing. I have a Juki DDL 8700 industrial - any issues have been my own- and even those have been few. It is perfect for the sewing of tops that I do. I still have my other machines for other things. If I could I'd get other Jukis and expand my machine selection and explore bag making with a heavier duty one.
I just watched Marnea Farmhouse Quilting and she showed her new Juki TL-2010 machine. I told her I just got one also on 8/25. There are quite a few utubers who have this machine. She bought hers from you as I did also.
The TL and 1541 are both solid machines that you can’t go wrong with but I think the 8700, 5550 and 1181 are also great options for home users. I use a machine that is equivalent to an 1181. I think it is more capable than people think. I wouldn’t want to convince someone to get an 1181 when a 1541 would be better for them but I think people sometimes get a 1541 when an 1181 would be more than adequate. It’s often not an easy call though. What I really hate seeing is someone thinking they are not good at sewing when it is their machine that is letting them down. The actual machine I have is a Chinese brand, Zoje, that is rebranded as Singer. It has never let me down but I would still recommend paying a little extra for the Juki.
Perfect video. Perfect beginning "call". Look forward to the 1541 and 1181 comparison video. I have the tl 2010 and loving it and think it is all I need but not sure. I dip my big toe in the industrial pool and then jerk it back. I am retired and don't want my hobby to become a job. I get enough of "can you make mes" as it is.!
thank you also for honest information you give to ppl. love this vide. I'm a bag maker for more than 10 years. this is the first 100% honest video I see in the youtube. respect for what you're doing. subscribed and liked
I love my TL2010! I just bought the DX4000. Not gonna lie, I’m intimidated by it 😂 but we’ll get passed that. I believe my TL could sew the bumper back on a ‘57 Chevy ❤
Something is wrong with me because I kept looking at that piece of wood or cardboard next to the sewing machine. I was so distracted that I had a hard time paying attention to what was said. What is that?
Im in the process of upgrading my brother machine ive had for over 20 years and am searching and comparing sewing machines. Watching this has helped see what im working on first and then deciding which one to get. I know for sure i dont need an industrial. ive started quilting and thats the way im heading.....so thanks for sharing your experience with the machines....
That's awesome; like for me it all boils to first, what kind of person you are? Beginner or experienced?? Coz for beginners I will just say - go simple, go easy not cheap though. Because you're more on learning and exploring so never invest into something your new to it. But on the other person is more on Quality of the project, and features at least for what I see. Both machines are good just for specific person who truly knows what he or she is up to.
I have been sewing as a child since the 1960s and sewing machines have changed. My former Singer never broke down, I just changed needles. While I have a Juki serger, my sewing machine is a Janome. It is OK but it over heats if used a lot and the needle plate is wide for the zig zag stitch, that pull threat down into the bobbin. That last time that happened, I could not find the threat and had an expensive repair bill. If machines gave customers a choice of a single need plate and one to accommodate other stitches, I would be fine with the modern machines. I need the modern machines for the buttonhole stitch.
This is such an awesome and informative video. Wish you guys were in Canada. I predominantly make bags (but not full-time) and have outgrown already, my fairly new, computerized Brother NQ700. I went to my local sewing machine store and they tried to sell me a very expensive industrial machine, that I knew I didn't have room for. After much research, and binge watching your videos, I just ordered from Amazon, the TL-18! I'm so excited and can't wait to get it!
NOT FOR BEGINNERS. I've been sewing since childhood. When i turned 48, a fashion school opened in my area. Juki had donated industrial machines to our school. the machines were so fast that nobody, including me, could control them when given an assignment to follow winding rows of stitches. Several people sewed over their fingers. I started bringing my home machine to class to complete my projects. And the motors were so powerful that when you tip the machines, they were sitting in a "vat" of oil.
Incorrect the 1541 and other machine you can reduce the speed. Some machines are self oiling and you just oil points not necessarily in a vacuum of oil. Very misleading post.
I too purchased one of those expensive machines and was told it would handle making bags. Well, it does not, and I am not too happy about the dealer not being truthful with me. I live in a rural area in the central Midwest, and dealers are few and far in between.
I was offered one for free. It’s an older Reliable industrial. My friends mother was a professional seamstress. It’s really only a hobby for me at this point but I would eventually like to retire and do something. What do you think lol
I’ve changed my start Singer to industrial one. It’s been 4 months and I think I should’ve saved money and got a high end brand like Bernina or Janome.
Based on other videos I have watch that discusses this same question, I feel you could have gone into the pros and cons more thoroughly. Adding up the percent of time where you actually talked about a domestic machines strengths verses how much time you spent on talking about your company’s service, you’ve turned this into a commercial to sell your service when someone buys a sewing machine from your company.
I live in a small 1 bedroom Unit. I already have a 1 needle embroidery machine, a serger and a sewing machine that does all the rest. But, I want to do bags. doing them on my domestic is a learning curve. Dont have the room for an industrial. So ben looking at TL series. Asking what other bag makers have. So far, the Juki TL-2010q is winning lol.
I've never had a problem with buying a sewing machine in the shop I use the Janome mystyle 22 for years no bother at all. Don't need industrial sewing machine because I would not be using it to it's full potential. I have used so many industrial sewing machines I have lost count, fun to use miss them sometimes and yes they are the best of the best.
Great video. However......I do know what I will be using the industrial machine for...yet.....just curious what ALL the letters mean that precede the machine model #'s. What's the difference between the 1541 and the 8700.....? Want to watch some tutorials showing models and uses and in use of the machines.... 😊
I went with a straight stitch the Elna EF1 because it does the work I need and its easier to get serviced. Harder to find people to service industrials.
Thanks for this information. I have a juki TL and at work I have a industrial juki but I want to sew leather and the juki TL at home I don’t think is going to cut it I need that walking foot industrial big boy! Sadly I had recently purchased the TL juki because I want more industrial and my bernina though it fancy I love that industrial feel.
I have a domestic machine, a brother CS10S That I love. I've only had it since march and it is serving me well whilst I am learning. My ability to learn how to sew/make bags has taken me quite by Surprise and whilst my little domestic is doing well, she is struggling on some points which has sparked my interest in looking at industrial machines for the thicker fabrics/layers. So here I am looking for your recommendations. I see alot of Juki in youtubes, and some have a Jenome. I know a walking foot is a great benefit & maybe a needle position adjuster. Im in the UK. The 1541s is a bit out of my budget and i think probably a bit OTT at the moment ... possibly. Which brings me to the 1181N...... I could do with some help please 😊😊😊
the 1181 is still a great machine with its limitations on vinyl, leather and dense synthetic materials. No more than 4 of a medium weight type of synthetic is recommended. So you just have to decide if thats a good thing or bad thing for the types of bags you make :)
I admire the dedication to after-sale service. It is actually too bad that this is not the standard. I do leather, canvas and heavy material repairs as a hobbyist. I used class 3 machines and old Landis machines…and then my Husqvarna Viking 6040. Quite a jump. I am looking to consolidate and update. Thanks for the info. I am open to suggestions
I want a Juki so badly but it was hard deciding which one. I finally settled on the 2010 but the price is a little steep and the nearest dealer is 2 hours away. 😢
Industrial machines do not offer a FMQ ability so maybe something from the TL lines would be a good fit for you. Feel free to give us a call and we can go over the options with you :) 813-661-9000
I’m sick of having to hand crank over layers of seams, I have to save up for a Juki. I’ve been through 3 different machines, each better than the last. I’ve had to hand crank on all of them. I want to make my own bags and maybe some upholstery, and free motion quilting. I don’t know much about the TL series. I am aiming for the 8700. I’m cash strapped, so it will take me so long to save.
The 8700 is more of a machine for altering clothing, light work. Not bag making. Call us when you are ready and we will make sure we guide you properly.
Not related but can you all do a video with the Juki Fabric table and stitch regulator. I have the TLQ18. Also could I my Husqvarna Designer Sapphire85?
Hi Thank you for this video l just purchased a Juki TL 2010Q. Going from a small Elena sewing machine. I need help on what thread to buy for my new Juki. I sew bags and quilts. Can anyone help?
I’d like to make women’s clothing as well as leather goods. Do I need 2 separate machines? If so, which would you recommend? I plan on making clothes to sell.
I’m thinking about buying me Juki DD-9000c FMS for my business. Right now i use singer quantum 9600 don’t like it at all always breaking down, having trouble sewing through layers, my seams most time are not smooth.
meanwhile, Dottie is lurking in the shadows in the corner with her measley Singer 4411HD trying to put together a tote bag looking longinly at the Juki industrial sewing machine.
I want them both i cant afford both. Only one. I want to make business and seriously pouches, bags, backpack. But...tl should also do it and its movable. In case of moving i can take it with me.
I had a Juki but had to sell it to get caught up on bills after going through breast cancer. I'm starting to make bags now and I miss my Juki. ! But Im getting a Pfaff 30 which was told it sews leather.? But I wish I could get a walking foot!! 😢 Do you know anything about the Pfaff 30? @jukijunckies ?
Is there an industrial machine with multiple stitch capabilities (straight stitch lockstich, one step zig zag, three step zig zag, buttonhole, bar tack etc.) for an apparel sample room?
where can i get that shelving for all that thread in this video looks great .... oh by the way there is only one machine Juki TL 18 anything less is a waste of money
I do not like sewing companies that sell sewing machines. They will say anything to sell a machine. Two different sewing stores told me to buy an Elnita sewing machine; that it is high quality and does like-industrial sewing. When I tried heavier material on it, it jumped all over the place and is no different than a cheap Singer machine. It's more for a beginner sewer. Another sewing store sold me to buy a Baby Lock embroidery machine, and said it would take heavy material too! The liars! When I tried heavier material in it, it jammed. So, I put out $1500 and don't use either one.
I want to make the jump but not sure of my need. I currently make boxed bags and tote bags as gifts. In the near future I want to make backpacks and heavier duty bags that can hold more weight and not break. Someone told me that I don’t need thicker thread or bigger needles they said it’s about technique. Like sewing handles all the way around the bag. What do you think? Thanks
Can the presser foot be lifted with your hand. I have arthritis in my right knee and the knee lift causes pain (at least it did on the Sailrite Fabricator that I had to sell).
I would like to know what is the thickest thread the TL series take? I am thinking of using a nice top stitching on my bag. I am debating between the TL series and the DL 8700 series
I bought the 1541. Definitely should have waited or just for the 1181. I still sew 90 percent of the time on my TL. 😩 but please tell me what table is the TL in? I need it!!!!
Okay, young.Ladies.I got a question.I asked you I'm a 60-year-old male.I'm looking for To put on a boat where I can sew and repair sales and make a few other things while I'm on the boat. What machine do you have the best for this sales are eight ounces What thick
Feel free to email us how many layers at a time you work with or any pictures of your projects and we can help you with the right sewing machine recommendation! Sewingmachines411@gmail.com
@@JukiJunkies I’m glad I called first. Our local shops are open Tuesday through Saturday. So I guess we will be going to IKEA instead. If I had called sooner we could have zoomed over Friday (my birthday) but I didn’t. Later I saw your response.
this semi industrial 2010 you should compare with ddl 8700, not with 1541. if i need to make my choice, i would go by 8700. besides, parts ofr 2010 are a lot more expensive
im so dead set on making this shit work im just getting a juki 1541 and making it work. i appreciate your fantastic resource and i hope your day is joyous

It’s our pleasure Janet. Call us if you need anything 813-661-9000
I don't need an industrial machine but I have one and I love it😊😊
Lol. That sounds like something ide say
Love this video! I can't wait for the comparison video of the 1541 and the 1181!
I’m deciding between the 1181 and the 1541 so I’m looking forward to your comparison video! 😊
I'm at this point too!!
That’s so frustrating. I’m sorry it happened to you.
I was offered one for free. It’s an older Reliable industrial. My friends mother was a professional seamstress. It’s really only a hobby for me at this point but I would eventually like to retire and do something. What do you think lol
Go for it. You can make huge money, especially in communities of modest dressing
I had the opportunity to acquire a new Jack industrial as a present. Now, i really cannot stand using my domestic. I feel a little bad about it.
I am sorry you felt this way.... We will try to do better next time :)

I love your fabulously large selection of differently coloured thread!
SO BEAUTIFUL!! SHOP THEM HERE jukijunkies.com/product-category/threads/glide-thread/glide-40w-thread/
I do love my TL machine, she's a beauty !
Great video, I’m a Juki Owner of a 2010tl and a 1181n love my Juki looking to add another. ❤
Right on!
I really want Gigi as my manager; she seems lovely!!!
She is :)
I want a Juki so badly but it was hard deciding which one. I finally settled on the 2010 but the price is a little steep and the nearest dealer is 2 hours away. 😢
Give us a call 813-661-9000 :)
Which one is better for free moton use and perfect stitching
Hi
Thank you for this video l just purchased a Juki TL 2010Q. Going from a small Elena sewing machine. I need help on what thread to buy for my new Juki. I sew bags and quilts. Can anyone help?
Glide 40 w is all i use in my Jukis. It is a fantastic thread here is a link jukijunkies.com/product-category/threads/glide-thread/
I’d like to make women’s clothing as well as leather goods. Do I need 2 separate machines? If so, which would you recommend? I plan on making clothes to sell.
8700 and 1541s :) Call us for more info
Hi Gigi! I’m curious about your tee shirt. I can read “need” and “sew….” What does it say?
Great video!

Here is the link to the shirt. It is so cute. This is also our website too.
Can I get an industrial sewing machine.. if I can't even work out why my overlock don't work?
I don’t even sew, but I do love the JUKI industrial Purrrrrrrrr
It is beautiful
I’m thinking about buying me Juki DD-9000c FMS for my business. Right now i use singer quantum 9600 don’t like it at all always breaking down, having trouble sewing through layers, my seams most time are not smooth.
Nick is me! So I’m all ears!!👂
meanwhile, Dottie is lurking in the shadows in the corner with her measley Singer 4411HD trying to put together a tote bag looking longinly at the Juki industrial sewing machine.
I think I have a Clearer direction now. Thank you. Wish I hadn’t missed end of year sale. Lol
Email us at sewingmachines411@gmail.com (; We can always discuss pricing.
Is there an industrial machine with multiple stitch capabilities (straight stitch lockstich, one step zig zag, three step zig zag, buttonhole, bar tack etc.) for an apparel sample room?
Can I just start industrial without using the regular?
You certainly could if it was the right machine for what you are starting on doing.
Great video! I have a qvp18! I would love the sewing table that you have on the video. Where can I purchase?
jukijunkies.com/product/gidget-ii-sewing-table/
Here it is :)
The reason also to have industrial machines you always can sale them and still get your money back ,good luck reselling Brothers or simple Bernina
One time I was maniteeing in Tampa Bay and I saw a kayak come out of the water at me. Scared me so bad the instance satisfied my curiosity.
HAHA they can be scary when they surprise you.
I can’t find the 1141 vs. 1541 comparison video, did it come out yet?
Not yet :/
To me is what happens after? How much does it cost to maintain? Is it hard to maintain? Is it user friendly to maintain?
Maintenance is easier than a domestic! It’s all sealed so there’s nothing to really take apart. All you do is add oil to the pan or oil reservoir.
where can i get that shelving for all that thread in this video looks great .... oh by the way there is only one machine Juki TL 18 anything less is a waste of money
Silver fox aka Gigis husband made it.
My 1541S bobbin cover plate came off. I can't figure out how to slide it back on. Help!
Thanks
I think to make heavier duty bags you will definitely want to use heavier threads for strength and appearance eventually.
Hi I’m planning to make sandal bags and want zigzag and straight stitch. Can you help me. God bless
Where can I find the pattern for that wall hanging with the bees? In the background in some of the older videos??
It sold out :/
Great video :) I have question , coz i wanna sew mostly bags and covers from cordura 1000D , is Juki DNU-1541 be good for it ? thanks :)
I am debating between the TL series and the DL 8700 series
tex 70 is the thickest thread a TL will take :) Call us i would be happy to help you figure out what machine will be best for your needs. 813-661-9000
What machine do you recommend for bigger threads for backpack and duffle bag making? Thanks
y'all are the best! glad to see a new video :)
Thanks so much. We took a long break. It was time for sure. Gigi
Just watched this, thanks for the comparison. I have a 2010 and it really does a lot for me!! Got my DX 7 from you so I am set for a while!

Absolutely! I have a video on it under TL machines playlist. Use it on top and bottom. Gigi.
I’m interested
I’m heading your way this weekend!🎉
We are closed on weekends but stop by during the week days if you can :)
@@JukiJunkies I’m glad I called first. Our local shops are open Tuesday through Saturday. So I guess we will be going to IKEA instead. If I had called sooner we could have zoomed over Friday (my birthday) but I didn’t. Later I saw your response.
We’re coming from Vero Beach 🏝️.
Any recommendations for sewing neoprene?
Oh damn. I almost got the wrong machine
Love my TL18. Best machine!!!
Same here!
this semi industrial 2010 you should compare with ddl 8700, not with 1541. if i need to make my choice, i would go by 8700. besides, parts ofr 2010 are a lot more expensive
im so dead set on making this shit work im just getting a juki 1541 and making it work. i appreciate your fantastic resource and i hope your day is joyous
