Raycast on it's own can do so many of these app's functions like emoji picker, translate, clipboard history, quick camera/mirror, app uninstaller, menu bar search (keyboard shortcuts)...
For the next generations. I watched this channel before it had millions of subscriptions. Now it has 43k, but I am here since something around 3k

When you review the apps, kindly display the app name and app icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. I often find it challenging to catch the app name as you speak quickly, and having it visually placed there would help me locate it more easily during searches. Thank you!

You can replace Espanso with a Raycast embedded feature called Snippets. It also supports some variables/placeholders and calculations.

Are there an alternative to Media Mate?
SlimHUD is similar, as it will replace the standard Volume/Keyboard/Brightness HUD overlays, but it lacks support for external displays. MediaMate has built in compatibility w/ Lunar(free version) and BetterDisplay(Paid Version Only)

that battfi program is super neat. the MacOS battery management program kept charging and discharging my laptop over and over so I just limited it to 80% at all times since I don't use my laptop that often

Every time you make these videos I leave feeling like I bought a new Macbook.
downloaded command x and when i paste with comman v the original file isn't removed it just pastes a copy which i don't see the differnce with what it was doing b4 with command c then command v
7:45 not rlly a feature, spotlight search does the same thing and command space is easier to press while typing
Middle click works for closing tabs, pasting in the terminal but it doesn’t open the links in a new tab for me (aka the actual reason I downloaded it)
Make the same video for windows users please!! (i change from mac to win only for windows managment)
Might want to mention Parallels on an Apple Silicon Mac can't run the normal version of Windows, it's only able to run Windows 11 ARM. And Windows 11 ARM can't run normal Windows programs either..
UTM can be used for that.
Also Pock is an amazing app for us with touchbar Macs as it lets you customize the touch bar.
Windows 11 ARM can run x86 apps, though not all of them. Windows has x86 emulation built in too.

@@asadfarraj I have tried playing Witcher 3 on my M2 Max at 4K 120hz through Parallels Windows 11 ARM. I wouldn't say it's slow at all. ;)

can you possibly do a Windows or iPad version of this? it always feels like Windows could use a bunch of utilities to make life easier
The memes are so on point and well timed, loved the video
What i realized is running a lot of these apps will make your computer run less smooth. If you have visual studio code then your cpu will randomly start running harder and drain your battery even though the app is not open. And if you use karabiner, your computer will start to feel buggy and less smooth. Your mouse will start jumping instead of tracking smoothly across the screen. Not all these apps are bad, but I would consider the trade off some have. I would get amethyst and Mac mouse fix. They greatly improve the computer and don’t slow it down or make it buggy. Then I also got a cpu monitor icon for the toolbar so that i can now instantly see if something weird is going on since visual studio code was on my computer. The only reason I found out that vs code was screwing the cpu was when I noticed my battery was drained after a short amount of time. My advice would be to watch your cpu% use with a monitor app for the toolbar and then see how it changes after some apps are downloaded. If you see it running higher on average or suddenly you can check the activity monitor and then Reddit search what is running high and everyone seems to know everything on Reddit.

Why would you want to replace spotlight search??
What app did you use here to hide certain portions of the menu bar with a toggle? I use the app “hidden bar” but Mac doesn’t let me add anymore apps to the menubar these days (regardless of me using hidden bar to hide away certain icons!) I want to be able to add more apps in the menu bar but tuck them away in a “hide-able” section in the menu bar.
Loved pt.1 and was really keen on checking out pt.2 but not even 1 app was useful for me :/

It's just me doing the sound with my mouth with some effects added, that's the whole thing :D
But it was inspired from the "A Knife In The Dark" soundrack from The Lord of the Rings. That part is at 1 min 53 seconds in the soundtrack, at least the one that's on Spotify.

I used an app called mousecape, the cursors are called captaine cursors but it will take quite a while to set those up since you have to replace each macOS cursor with the one you want and do it twice over for the 1x and 2x version

There's one app that I'm looking for but I would love some sort of window preview in the dock like you have in windows when you hover your mouse over the program for example if you have multiple Google chrome windows.
I'm pretty sure that's a native macos feature, you just have to turn it on via terminal.

6:00 just spent like 30 minutes trying to fix my F6 key cause do not disturb isnt in the app 😭
(solution was rebinding it in system settings and setting the key override to f6)
other than that amazing video!! I copped BatFi (replacing AlDente), Handbrake (replacing 8mb.video), Toggl Track and pretty obviously Karabiner lol
10:52 personally I use Giphy Capture and thats cause it has settings for resolution and framerate that help make it fit on discord, would be cool to see a third video with an app even better than both!!

@@bogxd i keep thinking of the fact that you could most likely be making 10000-20000€post tax per month if you bundled your focus to the course selling aspect where you sell people courses which are genuinely helpful. Assuming yt shorts,insta and tiktok are leveraged properly for increased reach. I am sure that your manim course is quite good, however the demand is probably very low, which is why no one else has really put much focus onto manim courses. I personally have been noticing in 2023 that most people use their browser in a really inefficient and ineffective way so i am thinking of making a comprehensive course on browser usage which would help people save time by using one of the most important tools of today’s age (web browsers) far more effectively than before. Nothing crazy, id price it at 10-30€, and market it through short form content
And yeah ofc all or most of the info is already out there for free, but a course still provides good value in many instances by allowing people to learn in a structured manner instead of having to scrape together all the bits from different corners of the internet

I am on macOS Monterey, not the kind of guy to hop onto the new shiny OS release. A quarter of these apps mac won't let me download because I'm on an older OS, the mac app store won't even let me download these apps unless I upgrade my entire system, I don't even mind paying for these apps! The apple ecosystem is disgusting and downright obnoxious.
