Much apreciation because they did not kept the welth for them. They developed all the countries they controled. For exemple, în my Country, Romania, you clearly can see their influence in Transilvania and Bucovina
Spittoons?? On the dinner table? More like individual salt cellars. Maria Theresa'a rival, Frederick the Great, was King of Prussia, not emperor. Pity the Wittelsbachs' Nymphenburg Palace in Munich wasn't included in this video.
Enjoyable video. Small remark: Frederic's title was only "king in Prussia" (the Prussian territory of Königsberg, since 1945 Kaliningrad Oblast, outside of the borders of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation, not "emperor of Prussia"
That was a horrific hot take on the Empress. Even Wikipedia does a better job describing her life and her reality. You may want to reshoot this one, Mr. Steves. This comes off as callous, ignorant and shallow minded.
@indiramoitra2295 Yes, I'm a dual citizen, one of them is American. I used to love this stuff as a young American. Now I see all the crazy upheaval in the world, rich getting richer and what not. It makes it hard to see this kind of art at the sake of life has been going on for so long. Real eye opener watching Rick Steves as an adult. Pretty, but at a cost. I think you were trying to make a jab at me or America, so go for it if you want.
American kids should see all of Rick Steve's shows .

Vienna, it’s such a romantic city
It is amazing that everything has been left in place, You can see the age in all the furniture and cloth
The Habsburgs had vast wealth and power, They certainly knew how to show it off. These are Architectural marvels.

Piano concerto no. 5 in E‑flat major, "Emperor" (appropriate for this video, don't you think? :)

Please stop with the antihabsburg stuff, they were good actually
Why are Austrians so mean to Americans?

This kinda makes me sick, all that wasted wealth
