Jack De Sena (Sokka) has said that the creators gave him the freedom to improv his lines, especially in this episode. Good to see you back in the ATLA universe my brother.
U hit on everything ppl never seem to understand in ur discussion at the end PERFECTLY. Haven’t lost a step in 3 months. Excellent video, can’t wait for more
I love just how _wrong_ Aang looks with that glare and shadow over his face, it feels so in conflict with his usual self that it's unsettling, and that evil "bwaaah" just adds to it. Such a good way of showing Aang losing sight of himself in his angry grief also, that choir hitting while Katara hugs him and hes crying through the Avatar state never fails to make me tearbend
Shadow, I have been eagerly awaiting your return to the avatar universe. Welcome back my friend, I hope everything is going well for u in life, can’t wait to continue this journey with u
15:50 that is a good observation: he is not acting like a kid no more, he went into a full grown man actions right there, meaning that he is more decided to break some bones
It’s also because of the other avatar’s channeling their energy though him, and at the moment he isn’t in full control of the avatar state so his emotions are difficult to control during it.
Welcome back, man, how you've been? (I really need to restore my discord account, ey?) 1:32 She would've probably adjust fast enough to level the grounds (pun is not intended), but I am not sure whether she would get an upper hand. Then again, she could stall them for long enough to Gaang come back, and that's where it's just unwinnable. 4:21 Yep, desertion for good reasons is still technically a desertion, at least as far as your previous allegiance concerned. But oh well. 5:00 Tell me there is no alternative universe where Sokka is guy from commercial and I'll call you a dirty liar. 5:08 She was on fire since literally her first scene. Keep up! 5:38 The one from Mario? WAIT... 6:09 Jeong Jeong. Yeah, since forever. 7:27 IKR. Alas, it's entirely fictional and I'm pretty sure never been transcribed for real world. A shame, really. 7:35 Yeah. IT'S BEEN IN HIS SLEEVE THE WHOLE TIME. Double-meaning intended. 8:00 Name's Master Yu. 8:45 Flexing her insane back muscles that she uses to carry this team. I'm not team Katara most of the time, but you gotta admit, when Appa not carrying them (i.e. absent) that becomes Katara's work. 9:23 Reasons. 9:26 He was without his drinks in this desert, and now he's (blood)thirsty! 9:40 Friendly reminder, who is the best girl in this show. 9:57 That explains his harem... 10:16 Have I been on the runt, why Toph is one of, if not the greatest example of super-powered disabled character? That's one of the reasons why. Not the usual BS, where powers just straight up overwrite everything. 10:50 Korra, I'm your father! (c) Aang, probably; also, every sand reference to Star Wars. P.S. Fuck YT for auto-"correct" actual symbol for emoji that doesn't even work properly. 11:51 That's a real thing, remembering voices. For Toph it makes huge sense (pun intended) 12:07 Not born yet... OH, YOU MEANT APPA (I might or might note have picked this wordplay from littleprimadonna (you should check her out (AFTER You're done with the serious, spoilers!))) 14:00 Buzzard wasp. 15:59 That's his voice in Avatar State, as it projects previous Avatars as well, yes. 16:57 I'm stealing this line for appropriate moment. And here goes my mandatory rant off-timestops about this episode, or, rather, one scene in particular. That last one. It is a great scene on many dimensions but I want you to see it from Toph's perspective. Disclaimer, I'm not talking about it just because she's one of my favorite characters in all the media ever. You TALKED about scary in the review section. NOW imagine Toph, for whom it was first experience with Avatar State. At best, she knew in outline about it (which is nowhere near first person experience anyway.), at worst, nobody talked with her about it. And everything she knows is that Sokka grabs her and screams to run to get outta there. That, and the fact that Aang is pissed beyond any limits. AND he was angry at her before for extra points. If THAT is not a terrifying experience, I don't know what IS. Whew.
Happy to see you are at it again! Some of my favorite parts of the show are about to begin: "There is no war in Ba Sing Se. Here, we are safe. Here, we are free."
Probably the best reaction to this episode I've ever seen. Your response to Aang's emotional struggles throughout this episode was so on point 👌💯
Appreciate that ❤️
He was READY to abandon the pacifist way of the air bender that day. The air he bends no longer pushes, it cuts at the moment
Did not notice until today
When Aang was in the Avatar state, the voice thing is because of the other avatars channeling through him. It's also a method to intimidate
Pretty dope, gave me goosebumps
Remember when Iron was looking for a White Lotus tile…?☺️
Yes! When they changed course for it and met the pirates right?
@@shadowreacts yep… what image did Iroh and the old man form when they played Pai Sho? And what was left in the room where Iroh and Zuko were hiding?

This episode is a pretty great showcase for both the emotional intensity and the humour of ATLA
*It's the quenchiest*
lol
This final scene gives me the chills every time.
Your reaction is so enjoyable. Thanks for letting us reexperience this masterpiece with you!
Welcome back, it's the quenchiest! I love how you got the significance of the loss of Appa and how it affects Aang.

The Appa episodes are a hell of an arc. Glad you're back, dude!

So happy you’re back ❤
Glad you‘re also still around watching !!
Hey, welcome back! I hope everything's OK and you're ready for some Avatar because this will only get better and better!
Thanks! Good to see so many familiar names glad to be back

You're baaaack💕
And you‘re still here! Amazing ! Let‘s continue this journey hehe 🤟🏼🤟🏼
This was Toph's perfect time to teach twinkletoes earth bending. Twinkletoes could've moved an entire mountain, not needing to be in Avatar state.
Very true lol
When do the Avatar episodes drop? Feel like I haven't seen you in 4ever.
I‘ve been gone for a while:) Avatar is Thursday and Saturday !
