    Hi, I thought this was a great review! I do have one question not covered. I am not one who is really interested in the subscription iFit offers, or doing the classes, etc. My main thing is to have the vitals displayed (hr, pace, avg pace, distance, mph, avg mph etc) along with a virtual lap track, and having these saved so I can review them and compare them over time. It would be great to review this on at least the app without a subscription, and a nice bonus would be allowing through the screen on the treadmill too. Are you able to have this and save this without paying the iFit subscription?

    I have just read that pro form will not cover the warranty if this is in a garage, even if the garage has been tidied up and decorated up a bit. ?? Do you know a capable treadmill that allows use in a garage. I live in the south of the UK so our temperatures are not extreme. Any advise ?

    Thank you so much for an amazing comprhensive review! I have narrowed it down to the this ProForm 5000 or the Nordic Track 1750....they are only $100 differince in price right now --so price is not an issue. I honestly can't decide which machine to go with. Nordic track seems to have more cushioning & a lip to hold my phone, but no tablet holder. Which would you personally pick just out of personal preference? Are the nordic track fans better? Thank you so much for your time!

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru

      The 1750 fans are better and there is more cushioning in the deck. They're both good machines but we'd probably recommend the 1750 over the 5000.

    Any comments on the advantages of the ProForm Smart Pro 9000 over this 5000? From what I can see, 9000 has a slightly more powerful motor, comes with chest heart rate monitor, and has an HDMI port to project your console screen/iFit on a larger TV. Any other differences or thoughts on 9000 vs 5000?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 9000 has more cushioning in the deck and the larger screen does make a difference bc much of the console functionality is embedded in the touchscreen. Since the screen is larger on the 9000 the touchscreen buttons are easier to see and press. Both are good treadmills with plenty of power for everyday use. The upgrades on the 9000 are nice -- if they matter to you. We always recommend buying the best treadmill you can with the features you want. If the 9000 offers features you don't think you'll use (or benefit from), the 5000 is a great choice. Based on specs and our usage, the 9000 is a higher grade treadmill.

    • @PandaBearBoss
      @PandaBearBoss 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TreadmillReviewGuru thanks for reply. I'm confused though, based on their website specs they both have 10" touch screen and both have ProShox Cushioning. Are there different versions of ProShox Cushioning?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PandaBearBoss You are right, the screens are the same size. The Pro 2000 has a smaller screen. Deck cushioning is enhanced by the ProShox system, but the construction of the deck also affects impact absorption. Higher grade treadmills have larger rollers and a thicker belt and deck. Thicker decks are composed of composite material that is more flexible, so this helps mitigate foot impact in addition to flexibility from the ProShox system. The Pro 9000 has more impact absorption than the 5000 even though they both feature the ProShox system. For runners under 200 pounds, this isn't as noticeable, but as running time and runner size increases, the differences are more pronounced. If you plan to walk, jog and run less than 6 miles per day, the Pro 5000 would be an excellent choice. Larger runners or those training for longer events tend to prefer the higher grade Pro 9000.

    Is the Proform Pro 5000 treadmill available at Costco a newer version of this one?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably not. ProForm stopped production on the Pro 5000 in 2019, so our assumption is the model you are looking at is the same version. It is, however, a fantastic treadmill. On the 2021 models, ProForm updated the screen on many of their treadmills but decreased the deck thickness and cushioning. So the older models are actually better in many ways.

      @@TreadmillReviewGuru Thank you. Some of the differences as I see for the one at Costco - Screen size increased to 14'', belt size changed to 20x60, no tablet holder, motor power decreased to 3.5 CHP and incline is -3% - 12% (digital). Hopefully I am getting a good one.

    Is internet required to use the preloaded programs on the Smart Proform 5000? I saw your comment that the NordicTrack 1750 requires internet to use the programs, even if you are not using iFit.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    hi, appreciate the review. As we are in quarantine right now, im looking to buy a treadmill. Would you say you can do a lot of heavy running on this treadmill without it causing problems? like around 7-8 miles per day for 5 days per week. Thanks

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question Florin. The 3.75 horsepower motor is self-cooling and powerful enough to handle daily use -- even high miles, so you should be good there. If you run outside on asphalt most of the time, then the cushioning will be a definite improvement over those surfaces. If you want slightly more cushioning in the deck, a comparable model would be the NordicTrack 1750. It has the same horsepower motor and same size running belt, but offers just a touch more cushioning (it is $200 more). But the ProForm 5000 is a hearty machine and will handle daily use just fine. Good luck!

    Have you had any issues with your shoes hitting the motor housing? Excellent review btw.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I haven't had that issue on the new ProForm 5000, but this is a concern that has been mentioned by other users. If you stand just an inch or two back away from the console, you don't hit your foot. I think on the older machines, the motor hood was higher and tended to impede your running stride. On the new 5000 we didn't have that problem.

    Love your'e videos! Looking at the specs at both the Proform smart pro 2000 and the 5000, it appears the only difference is the motor size and the screen size, is that correct?
    Also could you tell me is the Nordic Track 1750 has any onboard programs that do not require ifit?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the ProForm 2000 and 5000 are quite similar, with the main differences being the 5000 has a larger screen and bigger motor.
      The 1750 has about 50 preloaded workouts you do not need iFit to use -- but you do need internet. We tried to access the preloaded programs on our 1750 and without internet, the screen won't load anything.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Peter Rabbit you are correct. On the 2021 model the Pro 2000 has 1.9" rollers. The larger rollers help move the belt along smoothly which reduces friction and wear on the belt.

    Any comments on the New Pro-form 9000 with the 22 inch LCD? I have tall kids 6”3 and 5”11.. wanted to do a lot of running and hit sprinting drills on it .. I was looking at the Norditrack 2450/2950 these machines cost more wondering if it’s worth the extra investment

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some things we love about the Pro 9000. It is a great mid-range treadmill with a nice screen. It isn't as reinforced, and doesn't have the same cushioning in the deck as the Nordictrack Commercial Series, so either the 2450 or 2950 would be a better treadmill as far as durability and feel. Based on the fact that you have two adult-sized users in your home, I'd probably recommend the 2450 if it's within your budget. The 2950 is an absolutely amazing treadmill for running, but it is substantially more expensive. The 2450 gives you the most bang for your buck and the 14" touchscreen is plenty large when you're standing right in front of it.

    I’m thinking of upgrading from my Pro-Form Power 995c. I do a lot of distance goal runs and one issue I found with the 995c is the distance goals setting only allows for .2 mile increments. This is an inconvenience when I want to set a goal including half miles. Does the Smart 5000 allow someone to set distance goals in the .1 mile increments? I’d really like to stop having to set my treadmill to 3.6 miles when I only really want to do 3.5.

    Excellent review! I am really looking for a quiet treadmill. It sounds like the foot noise is high and pronounced on ProForm 5000 vs NordicTrack 1750/2450. Can you please confirm?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a bit more foot noise on the ProForm 5000. Of those three you listed, the 2450 is the quietest. If you want something really quiet, the incline trainers from NordicTrack (x11i, x22i and x32i) are quieter - but they don't fold up. The Sole F80 and F85 are also quiet when in use.

    • @kianshv8984
      @kianshv8984 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TreadmillReviewGuru thank you for your reply! I really like the F80 for it’s simple layout. But I am a little worried about the cushioning from the belt. Reviews on it say that there’s not a lot of give from the belt. Is the cushioning totally negligible on the F80 or is it not as much flex when compared to ProForm/NordicTrack? Also, does NordicTrack treadmills need to be connected to internet (wifi) to access onboard workouts or is it only required to access iFit account?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kianshv8984 Sole builds strong treadmills with full lifetime warranties. Their focus is strength and durability -- but you do sacrifice a bit with deck cushioning. The NordicTrack 1750 is more cushioned than the Sole F80; but you can always depend on Sole for great warranty protection. If you are looking for more cushioning, we'd recommend the Nordictrack or ProForm treadmills.
      You don't need to be connected to WiFi to use the manual mode on the NordicTrack treadmills, but the preloaded programs do get updated from time to time and iFit will often include a "workout of the day" which is a promotional free iFit workout you can use even if you don't have a subscription. So it is beneficial to have WiFi access with the NordicTrack treadmills even if you don't pay for iFit.

      They have a very similar frame and build. The main difference is the motor and screen size. The .25 HP bigger motor in the 5000 gives you just a touch more power so if you run more than walk, we'd probably recommend the larger motor.

      Both the ProForm 9000 and NordicTrack 2450 are excellent machines. If you plan to run regularly or long distances, we'd recommend the 2450. It also has a larger touchscreen, which is a nice feature. But really, both are good machines.
