I'm not a Christian but I honor, value & appreciate the sacred union of marriage. I admire you both for your insights on various real life topics & your vulnerability to share with us all. Thank you both! I'm always excited to catch y'all's videos every Friday 😊🙏🏾
I pray you all keep growing more and more with exposure! Because y’all drop the gems! It’s so refreshing to see young, married Christians make things practical through your transparency and you don’t leave out the center which is Christ. Cam please don’t apologize for who you are. You’re a pastor! You can only pour out of you what’s in you. If folk are watching hope their hearts are open to receive! I learned to be ye not puffed up (as Shirleen says) and to not withhold feelings from your spouse. Which is unlearning behaviors!
Love how transparent you guys are. It's so refreshing to see a honest young Christian couple speak about real issues. You both are so relatable. God bless your union 🙏
Vicky I still struggle with sharing my feelings to this day because of my up bringing, I can truly say it is the most difficult thing to do... it's like you forget your words and your trian of thought in a blink of and eye 🤯lol but thank God for a husband who actually cares about what's going on in our minds and who wants hear it. 🇧🇸
Wow thank GOD for the full circle moment👏🏽 Just had a Bible lesson last night about pretending and things that cause us to pretend. With Pride and Selfishness being the main two!!
I’m only human 😂😂 I struggled with this when I first started dating my fiancé, he was a lot more in tune with his motions. I used to be like he soft, but being with him helped me understand that it’s okay to show feelings…we don’t have to be rock hard all the time!
This is such a good episode! I'm also unlearning procrastination..although I procrastinated working on my final paper for grad school to watch the podcast lol. Take Care!
I hate that “where you at?” question. It’s the quickest way to piss me off. I definitely don’t like checking in. It feels controlling. I know as woman it’s not safe and I’m not trying to hide anything I just hate it. And nope!!! My locations are not shared.
i see so much of myself in both of yall. like cam with taking trips i want to do that but its like vicky becuse i never had it. then vicky with my emotions going from one extreme to the other ( either i love really hard or hate worse) so i’m trying to suppress my feelings so there can be a “happy medium”. then its like when you finally do talk you can’t express yourself properly b/c it rubs ppl the wrong way. so i just write 🤣 God understands me we’ll fix the other stuff later. “send help” 👌👌
I love this! Thank yall for your transparency and wisdom through your experiences while being married! This podcast is definitely needed for the Married Christian Culture
How did you unlearn the defense? Cause mann that's what I need to learn. Vicky we're def one in the same lol even with our backgrounds! I cried once after my grandmother died and my dad was like why you crying. I aint raise no simp. smhhhhh so sharing my feelings and showing that is hard.
idek if you guys are going to see this 😭 but do you have any advice on encouraging your significant other to grow their relationship with Christ. My boyfriend is a christian, however he has a lukewarm mindset towards God and doesn’t have a strong relationship with Him. any advice? Thanks! I love y’all so much ! ☺️
I feel like Vicky is in my business and I don’t like that 😬😬 but really tho. When she started talking about her family dynamics I was like are related cause...lol
I think these are things you should already be working on cause they ain’t gonna magically disappear when you get married. Pre marriage counseling is suggested to address that.
you should always be working on yourself no matter what your relationship status is! but we noticed that marriage in particular caused us to see things differently, because we are spiritually and legally bound. adapting to that new chapter in our life made us accountable for our actions which caused us to want to change certain habits that we had when we weren't in a union
We also need to redefine what homosexuality means. It doesn’t always equate to femininity or not being in tuned with masculinity. Homosexuality also isn’t just for men - the statement made in this video equated it with men and masculinity. It’s not a gender construct so shouldn’t be seen as one.
Why did Cam feel the need to say “let’s be clear” when he changed “listen to your spouse” to “listen to your wife”? Was he just making sure that ppl knew he meant a MARRIED spouse? Or was it something else. Am I reading too much into it lol. Idk it put me off a bit.
@@everythingiswe hey! I’m coming from a same sex relationship so idk the way you said that seemed like you were making sure you were talking to heterosexual couples and not couples who use the terms “spouse”, “partner”, etc. Yea I probably did read too much into it but that’s just how it made me feel 🤷🏾♀️

I'm learning that I can't control everything and to be less prideful and more considerate.
Let the unlearning begin 😩
