I love how much he has read and delved into the characters and authors' minds to lay out the meaning of the mythology and what we have to learn from it.
This is the philosophy atheists take so they can slowly tear down the fabric of religiousness. Of course this is also the method that Christian evangelists take as they slowly brainwash Hindus to convert. Coming from Kerala, he is heavily surrounded by anti Hindu rhetoric. The very fact that he subtly discounts everything as stories, myths, mythology and many such subtle references of non belief shows his heart doesn’t hold Hindu Gods in Bhakti. It’s just a theory to study, for him. Wonder what curse this man is living out. I will give one example. Jaya-Vijaya say ‘please don’t keep us away from you for 100 janmas, it is unbearable even if we are your bhaktas. We would rather be your enemies and become examples of good and evil to the world and come back to you in 3 janmas’. But this man described it as ‘They don’t want to be blind bhaktas’. That reveals him to you!!😊

I was just shocked when you said kartikeya is elder.. Because I'm from Tamilnadu.. Here we consider Ganesh as elder and bachelor.. Kartikeya as younger and has two wives.. and I was surprised to know that it differs from region to region... Now It is the month of celebrating God Iyappa .. The oldest ramayan written is Valimiki ramayan. If today suppose I write ramayan with changes , so should future generations also believe my version of ramayan as correct or valmiki ramayan?
@@anubhavgupta7683 Valmiki Ramayan was written by Tulsidas who lived only 300 years ago… how does that that mean it is the correct version aka truth that happened three thousand years ago?
@@siddhikakartik5633 please go and first collect the correct information. Valmiki ramayan name itself means it is written by Valmiki. For your knowledge Valmiki was a sage who was there during the time of rama or you can say treta yuga. Tulsidas had written Ramcharitramanas. Even tulsidas is not 300 years old. He was there around 16th century. I am not saying his version as correct. Many others like Kambha ramayan in 11th century etc So if you can think what version should be considered correct.
@@siddhikakartik5633 And in last line you also said Ramayan as 3000 years old. For me, this was fantastic showing the diversity and variety of wisdom teaching. Even with the same characters how diverse the interpretation can play out. Amazing.
Thank you so much for this episode . I was kid when I read meghnadh bodh kabya by Michael Madhusudan Dutta the famous Bengali writer in my school text book ,which changes my perspective towards Ravan . Today my interest in him increases A very interesting subject u picked up.
That was an awesome perspective about Ramayan, and what is good or bad. Questioning the Vedas, Upanishads, Gita, ramayan and Mahabharata and our scriptures is how Sanatan Dharma evolves. The beauty about Sanatan Dharma is you are allowed to question and interpret as you desire. Proud of my culture!
His point of view is very logical and acceptable about the mythologies like isn’t depend on what we used to hear, see and what some people want us to believe
Anand Neelakantan is an absolute genius and one of my favourite writers. I have read his 2 books on mythology which helped me hook closer to this deep interest I have for mythology. I remember reading Roll of Dice (book written from the perspective of Duryodhana) and i was awed. He had mentioned about the temple dedicated to Duryodhana which is there in kerala, in the preface, and this temple is in Kollam in my hometown and I have visited there a few times. but after reading the book, the place has now become such a different experience for me.
Fabulous session, this is the india, i grew up in, i used to have honest discussions with my Brahmin friends on spirituality, despite me growing in a different faith, our discussion sometimes will be strenuous too, however, at the end, whether we agree or not, we never lost our bond, we clearly understood that our difference in thoughtd and analysis only enriched our interactions, not the opposite, I hope, we have more people like Mr. Neelakadan, he is truly treasure for Indian people.

This might be the best episode I have listened to in a very long time! His prospectives towards life and nature itself teaches us to keep on evolving and growing towards what we think is right for ourselves!
He is a genius, stop hating him because he is trying to find a new meaning or extracting meanings from a tale story, if you are angry about these little philosophy of his then sit back and read the pathmabushan award winner Mr MT Vasudevan Nair's RANDAMOOZAM, you will be blown away.
As a South Indian, i remember so many of these stories told my grandmother and mother about Ravana.. And as a kid, i only knew Diwali as Saraswati Puja and had no idea about killing of Ravana and if it had anything to do with Ramayana. I always knew Ganesha being the elder son and was unmarried, whereas Subramanya/Kartikeya the younger one with 2 wives. Yes, i also knew the story of Ayyappa who is highly prayed in the southern states of India and there's a huge gathering of devotees at Shabarimalai in Kerala and every year on Makar Sankranti, it is believed that we can see "Jyoti" (a light) that appears in the sky. Totally loved this episode. Thank you so much Ranveer for bringing such knowledgeable people on the show!
This channel is far far better than most of the idiotic channels on TH-cam who jus try to ape western trends and culture .. sadly most of Hindus do not read any religious scriptures so we know our religion in bits and pieces .. watching your podcast is great way to explore and learn about our beautiful religion ..keep up the good work Ranveer .. your podcast will definitely ignite passion to explore Hindu scriptures in today’s generation..
Anybody who try to prove Hinduism a religion, are the most idiotic persons in my opinion. The "religions" have such a basic history which Hinduism haven’t. Its the traditions that run Hinduism and that's why we call it Dharma ( what we hold).
1.Valmiki ramayan is oldest , you cant deny the fact. 2. This person mentality is clear(love for ravana & hate for hindu gods, when he says: -Ravana is lynched -Rama is a failed attempt -Rishis are full of lust. They are not able to control their mind. But we (today humans) are able to control, so even we are better than rishis mentioned in hindu scriptures. - He said Ravan has written so many scriptures/ books, but he(Anand Neelkantan) has no book to support his point - What is the architecture of Ayodhya, (you can go to Patala from there) 3. Jaya, Vijaya are cursed by 4 Sanat Kumaras not by Durvasa. 4. Option was for 7 lives as bhakts or 3 lives as enemies.not 100 lives as bhkts and 3 as enemies.
@BeerBiceps Bro you are doing tremendous job by calling people with different perspectives on the same show. Huge respect for sharing knowledge with us.

In my 30s, I shifted from just being a Hindu to focusing more on humanity. As an artist, I've gained a new way of thinking from this show that helps me tell stories better. I don't believe in God; instead, I see my parents as my guiding forces. They've given me life and shape how I see the world.
I loved how Anand Sir gave entirely different viewpoint. Hinduism is all about rationality and is subject to change which is what he elaborated. Loved everything about this one👍👍 However many people will criticize him for such upright viewpoints. But I welcome such deep thoughts.
Superb podcast 👍 I liked his approach of looking at Ramayana and Ravan in a different way, good he asked us to accept to what we feel as right based upon our own wisdom, experience and logic. Also to question things is more of an indian thing! Wow!
As a Kid I'd listen to only Tulsidas Ramayana, so when I started reading Anand Neelakantan Sir's ASURA, it was really hard for me to even accept it as an alternative version of Ramayana. It's a must read!
This was one of the most FASCINATING podcasts Ranveer has ever done. Whilst some of the things this man says may be uncomfortable to hear in the moment, it really gives the intellectual person food for thought. It is such a pity that this is one of Ranveer's shortest podcasts. Why is it so short? Was it too controversial for the masses? It seems to have significantly less views than some of the other podcasts. I am going to have to look out for more from this man as I thoroughly enjoy it when someone challenges my conventional ideas and pushes me to revisit what I think I know.
The sure shot way to know about our own Sanksriti and history is to read the actual texts. I have started reading the original Ramayan Text, Valamiki's Ramayan ( originally in Sanskrit with Hindi translation) and trust me, I'm just half way through the first chapter ( Baalkand) and I've discovered things that I never even heard or saw. Sanaatan Dharm ka mukhya stambh gyaan hai, jab gyaan rahega tab buddhi badhegi. Jab buddhi badhegi tab man par niyantran aayega. Jab man par niyantran aayega tab aatma ki tripti hogi❤️

Open mindedness is core to gaining knowledge. If we do not keep an open mind then science itself would not have progressed. Essentially we must realise that every culture and civilization works towards the greater good of humanity and hence their teachings, no matter how different they may be, irrespective of which version is original and which is a derivative, all of them preach us to lead a better life. I still feel that each version was adapted to suit the scenarios each of the cultures were experiencing. Each version was moulded to make it relevant and more effective for its period and circumstances.

This came at right time, when the controversy on raavan and ramayana is on peak due to Adipurush and Dussehra.
(17th Nov to 15th Dec) anywhere you go around Tamilnadu,You could find people wearing maala which shows that they are in fasting for Iyappa..
Also..not just in TN. in Andhra Telangana Karnataka... people worship ayyappa
I am from AP first time I heard that Ganesha is younger in some parts of India
Not fasting wearing mala means following set of rules fasting is not included
It's opposite in Maharashtra
Even in MH, karthik is elder.

The oldest ramayan written is Valimiki ramayan.

@@anubhavgupta7683 Valmiki Ramayan was written by Tulsidas who lived only 300 years ago… how does that that mean it is the correct version aka truth that happened three thousand years ago?
I agree with you..!!
Many others like Kambha ramayan in 11th century etc
So if you can think what version should be considered correct.

Even that is not correct
If you go by astrology, the date of Rama birth was around 10th january 5110BC or you can say 7000 years old.
Or go by Rigveda, then ramayan happened around 8,70, 000 years back( 8,64,000 yrs of dwaparyug+ 5000 years of Kaliyuga

Thank you so much for this episode . I was kid when I read meghnadh bodh kabya by Michael Madhusudan Dutta the famous Bengali writer in my school text book ,which changes my perspective towards Ravan . Today my interest in him increases A very interesting subject u picked up.

I am going to have to look out for more from this man as I thoroughly enjoy it when someone challenges my conventional ideas and pushes me to revisit what I think I know.
he nailed it by giving an example of ganesha and karthikeya..
