In fact I was just chatting live with Decan, as he premiered the year three video. He told me his squirrel indeed lived more than 10 years which is a very long time for a squirrel. I think it was about 10 1/2 years. But he can't raise another squirrel this way because Denmark law strictly forbids it. It is a miracle they waved that law once.
Sometimes when something is moving and touching on real life, it's hard to comment. The word "pet" has a trivializing effect, because it's a personality in a person's life or a family's life - some people viewing this will have grief over the loss of a furry friend. It combines with beautiful memories, which is a good thing. Cherish the now.
The problem is that as of this moment there are only 19 views. I don't think people take the time to investigate what this is about. It is not just about two or more adorable animals who were so special. It is about the fact that they are now gone and way too soon. If you read about Coco you find out it's a story is even more touching. Coco was also rescued and had all sorts of health problems because of her previous owner. She nursed and protected Tintin in a way that normally only a mother squirrel would do. She died much too soon. Not everything in life is happy shiny but this is the only kind of music most people ever want to hear. That by itself is extremely depressing to me.
