- has a very harsh debuff until 8 peaks is recaptured - also the hardest path there (ikit claw and arenessa and skragg nearby along with the wood elves) and water blocking the way imo he's the hardest to capture the settlement compare to others, queek has to deal with no legendary lords while skarsnik only deals with thorgrim
Could be an interesting time to revisit this - now that Gorbad is clogging up the area west of Thorgrim, the guide would need to be adapted from turn 7ish onwards. Makes for an even more interesting challenge, as I've found that gorbad usually has about 2 full stacks across three different armies spread out in Blood River Valley, and he often turtles up around Iron Rock with about 1.5 stacks.
I do the same but i prefer to attack skrag because extra lvl money and territory to sell never gonna be useless.. fighting skrag is quite simple when u have ancient heroes that ogres can not kill. So i spend an extra few turns but i come with more level and experienced army so battle is easier
Xd someone even play him? Malakai is much better choice in every aspect lol .. His bonuses are not close what Malakai can buff factionwide by his journeys.. while belegar Has many bonuses that are meh, or decent in some situations.. Fighting Underground or leadership with greenskins..? Not good enough
I mean, I love playing him the most out of every other Dwarf legendary lord. Sometimes you don't feel like playing the strongest lord of a race, and just want something in the middle that provides more of a challenge, or just a different experience. It is the same thing where people can't comprehend why I enjoy playing Kazrak more than Taurox, when Taurox is the strongest Beastmen lord, but for me Kazrak just has a more enjoyable campaign. I'm not saying I don't enjoy Malakai or Taurox, but most of the time I prefer something that is a more grounded experience, and Belegars campaign provides that, while also providing you with a clear goal for your campaign.
@@CultistOfkhorne I have very similar thing I like playing belegar just for the lore and some challange But I think CA should rework him a little, and give him better rewards at least.. Malakai mechanic gives buff factionwide to artilerry making every army very good while Belegar Has magic attack for all armies? Its not even close .. They buffed belegar balista to have 8 in unit than 4 .. and that's all lol
Personally I feel like Belegar's buffs are really underrated. I'm not certain who pointed this out, but Belegar's -50% cost reduction for settlement buildings is way better than it appears at first glance. With a little work and a lord with the Ancestral Blood - Grungni trait you can very easily have a 'construction lord' to go around in provinces you're upgrading and upgrade your settlement buildings for free. Sure, it's not as strong as seriously powerful artillery, but upgrading settlements to tier 4 and 5 for free is a massive economic benefit and IMO your economy is one of your biggest bottlenecks as the dwarves. With a little smart gameplay you can handle most things for the first fifty turns with nothing but Dwarf Warriors and Quarrelers, so by the time you need the powerful units you've already got an economic steamroll going.

Hey, you made the guide after i asked about it in a vid or two ago, awesome dude!
My dude! Thank you for this guide, Belegar is one of my Favorite leaders!
No problem, glad I could help!
Hey man, great guide again, really enjoy your stuff :)
I'm glad you enjoy it!

Maybe, I might do a campaign first then see.
The part that annoys me is that, at least in my experience, the Mutinous Gits like to just sit two full (or near full) armies right on 8 Peaks.
Good stuff as always, great content.
Glad you enjoy it!
A bit of settlement trade abuse, but very good guide !
ROCK!!! AND!!! STOOOOOONE!!!
good quick guide
thanks! I did it on turn 17. Everything got messy at turn 11 hahahaha
I know I'm really late here, but what if thorgrim died, can I still confederate him with the new dwarf mechanic?
Yes
@@CultistOfkhorne then I can really throw him under the bus without remorse. thank you

But yours is better because I never met the grudge requirement
great guide but my brain is very smooth to pull this off s:

I also love belegar compared to other legendary dwarfs; his shield buff is crazy
@@karmalicious yes, sad that he doesnt give thay buff to whole faction, that would make really belegar faction more wanted for sure.
