Your sweet face during that entire song was precious. Your whole demeanor told it all. You are someone who knows.. A guy who loves his family. My hubby and I were also 15 and 16 when we met. He was my first and only . The sweetest man I ever had the privilege of loving. We had almost 40 years together before he went home to heaven. He was 57 and I was 56. Gone too soon. Never thought I’d walk this earth without him. He was my rock. Three kids and 9 grandkids. Gorgeous song. Pretty much says it all ❤️
@denise Glenn I’m so sorry for your loss. Me and my husband was 17 when we met and we’ve been together 23 years. We do everything together we work in the same place we shop together and I just couldn’t imagine not having him. I almost died twice…I spent 2yrs off and on in the hospital and this man didn’t leave my side through it all. He went through a lot and after I came home I had to have 24hr care. It was rough on him but he never once complained. I would’ve never survived without him.
I met my husband at 17 , we got married when I was 20 . I just turned 58 and this year is our 38th wedding anniversary. He’s the love of my life , he always has been . I’m such a blessed woman to have him and our wonderful son and two beautiful grandsons . They are all my life ♥️
I also met my wife when I was 15... I don't know why, but that hit home. This was my grandparents song to one another. It played at both of their funerals. I normally don't like country music, but this song just... hits different.
I love your reaction. Alan actually cheated on his wife but they worked it out. I read his wife’s book about it. And now they are stronger than ever. That’s actually his wife and children in the video. It may be the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard!
I cry like a baby every time hear this song. I think of me & my late husband who died 3 yrs ago. We were married for 47 yrs. I miss him terribly. My Alan Jackson get well.
You should play this song to your wife and if she is ok with being on camera, do a reaction or not. Either way, with your love story….you’ve got to play it to her!!! Great reaction ❤️
Lifting up Alan Jackson and his family in prayer. He is going through a rough time right now. I have listened to him since he first recorded a song. A true country legend. 🙏🏼😔
This song really is a weeper for sure. My man & I were married at 16 & 18, had our 61st anniversary in April. We're really starting to realize that time passes faster with each year that goes by. Now, it sure is flying! We've been very happy, & blessed with two great kids also. Have had many wonderful years, with a few inevitable heartbreaks along the way. I pray it will let us down gently at the end...lol.
I can only imagine this song makes me cry nearly every time I'm only 24 but I look back at even just the past five years and so much happened, and yet in the moment it feels like not much has happened like it flew on by. I can only hope to be with someone for even half that time not much luck though never had a relationship and I'm sure almost no one wants to be around someone who's awkward and nervous. This song just brings back memories and make me feel like I've lived longer than I have some people say life is short and while that may be true it feels pretty long to me. So much can happen in just a few years let alone decades+ I'm glad you've had many wonderful years a lot of people don't get that hope you have many more. I keep thinking about the day I'll lose my parents from time to time it's a natural part of life, but I know it will hit hard I feel it I fear it will hit harder than I expect though.
@@Chrisimplayer I do remember how "in the moment" we live our lives when we are young, which is where you are now. I pray you will find that special someone at the exact right time in your life, so don't lose heart. Neither my husband nor I were popular kids, just happened to love the same things. You will also likely lose your parents, but maybe not for many years, and you will find the strength you need then. Live is full of fearful, wonderful, sad, happy stuff- live YOUR life & don't forget to count your blessings! God love you~
Such a sweet reaction. ❤️ When my dad passed away last summer, he and my mom were approaching their 67th anniversary. They were an amazing role model of commitment throughout life’s seasons.
As I've gotten older this song means more and more to me. The part that hits me harder is when he says remember when 30 seemed so old. I wish I could go back 15 years and do it all again knowing what I know now.
This song is heartbreaking, and heart renewing EVERY time!!!! ..... been there, done that, after 35 + years...... and 3 grandchildren later...... my heart STILL breaks when I hear this 😢😭❣️❣️
Me and my wife has been together since she was 15 and I was 16, I'm 25 now and songs like this remind you of how special you should treat the one you love so much.
This may not be the most beautiful song ever written, but it's in the argument. From the instruments to the backing vocals to the lyrics. Oh, and that pedal steel solo right in the middle. This song really encapsulates the very best of pure country music. I am not the biggest Alan Jackson fan, but this song right here is one of the best.
Alan Jackson had Van F up. That song takes breath away it's real everything is real. Pure Love is true and real. Our father has shown that the key to life is Love
These pics are all of him & his long-time wife. Over 40 years. Beautiful couple & nobody can touch your heart like Alan, with his simple, effortless style. HIs voice is 'like butter'. If you have not heard his song he wrote immediately after 9/11, 'Where were you when the world stopped turning'. Powerful stuff. love your sweet face.
This song is the perfect love song because he talks about the pain and hurt they caused each other along with the love and joy!!! And through it all they loved each other enough to work it out!!! The songs that talk about love as if it is always perfect always feel unrealistic to me!!
I'm SO sorry for your loss! No father or mother should ever have to bury their child. May the Almighty give you the strength to bear the irreparable loss. Sending lots of love your way.
All these country guys you’re listening to are the guys I think about when someone say the Good Old Guys (my age) are who I think of! George Jones is all time favorite! Have you watched Vince Gill, Go Raise High on the Mountain! You can’t help to cry with him! They do sing so beautifully and with raw emotion! These guys are the real deal!
This was a perfect reaction. My parents were married 73 years (happily). I am 68, oh man, yes, when 30 seemed old lol. Unfortunately, I did not have that love experience like my folks did. My my, what I missed.
Tears me up every time I hear it. After 45yrs married tomy best friend, 2 kids and 6 grand kids, I love her as much if not more than the day we married.
I simply love your reaction to this video. Watching you think of your wife and family in such a precious way brings tears to my eyes. I have always loved this song and I'm glad you like it,too. ❤️❤️
I do believe this song i s the best of country music. The memories just overwhelm you. If there is something that fits the word" Poignant" it has to be this beautiful song, the best of Alan Jackson. You ate right the perfect love song !
Alan is one of my all time favorite artists. He writes his own lyrics using his own own life as inspiration. There is a documentary on him. You definitely need to see it!!!
Married 35yrs + . Get ready for surprises to come because they will. We bought the land thing too lol. So crying everyday when our daughter married and moved away, I missed her so much and was so lonely then they announced a baby on the way. God had a surprise for all of us. The sibling she always wanted was on the way ,5 months behind our grandson . Life is funny.
I’ve been married for 34 years now, our hair is grey, our kids are out on their own growing their families…. I always fell like getting up to kiss and dance with my wife listening to this song before all of that goes away… we cry our hearts out, but at the same time our hearts swell with love and a touch of pride… in the beginning all we had was us against the world, and now at the end of all this … it’s the same way, just us.
Alan Jackson gets me every time. Makes me think of my parents and grandparents and all the things they went through. And the only thing we can do is enjoy the time we have left.
Wait until the grandchildren Van. They will infuse your life with more love than you thought you had left in you. I'm 73 and grew up with three older brothers. They are all gone now, but those granddaughters are my life and bring me happiness and joy everyday and fill my heart with more love than I thought I had in me.
thank you...I have so many remember whens..we almost made it to 50 years. I have to go the rest of the way alone...I cried all the way through it but I would do it all over again!! ☺♥
You realize I rewatch your videos. This is one of my favorites. It is a beautiful Love story. I can see by your face that it is your love story. My love story didn't end as the story was told. After 36years of being married to the man I Love more than life, we divorced. So all of the the REMEMBER WHENS,still keep going on in my mind and heart 30 years later. Life is not always kind. I can see that you and Alan Jackson share a family story. We We are the same
Good choice Van. Alan is a great story teller. Most all you saw was real family pictures and videos. The beautiful lady he was dancing with is his wife. Lots of the other videos and pics were their daughters. He almost lost it all too. Life on the road caused him to make some mistakes, but they got through it and are better than ever. You should check out his official music video of a song he did about 9/11 called Where were you when the world stopped turning? Another cool nostalgic video in from Jamey Johnson called In Color. Both worth a watch. Van don't ever apologize for connecting to a song. That's why they're telling you the story man! Hope you get that homestead one of these days.
Seeing you smile during this song and how sweetly you talk about your wife has me smiling too. I think I even have a crush now. I say that in the most respectful way possible! Wishing you and your wife many more happy years together.
This makes me cry every time I've seen it. Loved your heartfelt reaction. Please share this video with your wife. Sometimes we need a reminder of all the love and life we've shared.

Such a beautiful song...so many memories and truths. I think it speaks to all of us and Alan Jackson was blessed with a golden voice. Didn't know he was going thru hard times. Prayers.
I remember when 30 seemed old and now at 56 thirty seems so young the baby of the family is now turning 32. I love this song I play it when I am out in the shop after working on the truck or the cars it makes my mind play back like movie the kids and now the grandkids. The hard times the good times the Kids growing up the moving out to start their own lives I though it would be great we have the house to ourselves but it was strange the house felt empty took a long time to get use to and most of all I missed them. I look at my wife across the driveway working on the garden I just smile and think Alan your right I would do it all again wouldn't change thing. I have had a great life and I am content with what we have and what been through made us stronger.
he didn't just tell his stories, he told your story, that's what touches people in this song

You cant listen to this song not look back on your life. So beautiful
This is one of those songs that many people can relate to, it brings you back to a certain point in your life....who can't remember when?
The woman he dances with is his wife. He wrote this song about their life together. He wrote almost all of his own songs. A true artist!
I’ve been married 50 years. This song makes me and my wife cry every time we listen to it. A beautiful song for our memories.❤️❤️❤️❤️
45 years married with my sweetheart. This song resonates with me.
No need to apologize for stopping the song to tell how you relate. So glad for your long marriage. God bless.
This one’s gonna get you, fam. AJ’s got a way to drilling right down to your heart. ❤️❤️❤️
You should play this song to your wife and if she is ok with being on camera, do a reaction or not. Either way, with your love story….you’ve got to play it to her!!! Great reaction ❤️
It takes years to grow old together. Years, and then be glad for those years. Growing old.
Alan is one of the most prolific and talented singer songwriters in the history of country music.
Tears every time! 30 yrs with my hubby married 27. What a ride!💗🎶🔥
Just turned 70. Been married 41 years. Life is good. Wasn't always easy, good things seldom are
Absolutely beautiful… makes me cry every time. 🥲

Every single time😭
I honestly can't listen to this song without crying
I have multiple sclerosis so I really relate to what Alan is going through with a neurological disorder. Prayers for him and his family.

This is his real story with family photos. I love his music.
Been married 32 years, this song is awesome!! It takes work, and it's worth it!

Best storyteller with his music, in my opinion. Love him.
Always remember... It's not about how many times you fall, it's all about how many times you get back up and keep moving forward.

Country music is the heart of music in America. Lots of great music out there, but few things tell stories like country does.
