Between Adam, Tim and Chance on accompaniment that's where you are getting that full sound. Tim and Chance are doing an incredible background. Beautiful as always. Thank you for reacting.
The higher vocal around 2:10 is their beatboxer Adam Rupp. When he supplies vocals (note there was no beatbox in that part of the song) they are on the high end of their spread. He does that in several songs, but most prominently in How Great Though Art.
All of the Home Free guys are so adorable and personable, I can't imagine any of them having had an awkward moment in their school days. This song is such a beautiful cover you can feel the sweet poignancy and nostalgia of youth Man, they can make you feel a song better than anyone. Adam's vocal percussion is always so spot on. He never adds a lot of extra stuff just to show off. He totally could cause he's got the skills, but he does just what makes the music work. His musicality in doing the vocal percussion is integral to the sound of Home Free. Everyone refers to Adam Chance as Chance so as not to be confused with Adam Rupp. Thanks for the great reaction, I always enjoy hearing your insight.
As always the guys did a fabulous version of this song. I wouldn't expect anything different from them. They are amazing! The ending sounded like a nod to "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal. Also like the cute video that goes along with it. A lot of people have covered this song. It was first done by "Lonestar" in 1999. Bonnie Tyler did a cover in 2003 & Boyz II Men in 2009.
Thank you. I thought it was just me hearing "A Kiss From A Rose" in the middle and at the end of this song. Loved it it was so fitting in this beautiful song.
I’ve been listening to this song since the start. They are pretty true to the song with just their voices, which we all know is “amazed”-ing. Thanks so much for your beautiful smiles while watching it. I don’t think I’ve heard it before ❤
Imagine the recording of a normal album, the voices are treated as if they were musical instruments, which as such are processed independently, with their compression, equalization and other effects. And some singers does various voices, getting those nice layers. In the case of the drums it is different, a track with the complete battery is recorded by Adam Rupp, and then makes independent tracks for the snare, the bass drum, the toms, Charles, crash, etc... so they can be processed independently. Thus getting sound so real. By the way. I love the song and the video, and I admire his always wonderful work.
@@cricketandbuddy I know you were probably being facetious, but just in case you weren't, Layne Stein is the beatboxer for Voiceplay. She just got her beatboxers mixed up for a second. :)
@@emstorm73 I feel everytime reactors mix the members it´s almost always Adam / Layne or Tim / Geoff / Avi nobody seems to have problems with the tenors
@@emstorm73 No Eric, I really didn't know who Layne was until you told me. I am a Home Free, home fry fan. I know Home Free and Voiceplay are friends but I don't listen to them or any other a cappella group except Home Free. I'm 68 and had pretty much quit listening to music then I stumbled on Home Free and I have been a home fry every since. I got to see them in concert 12/10/21. They were great! I would go again in a heartbeat! Thanks for setting me straight on who Layne is.
Oh this is so good. The video is so cute. I remember those awkward boys times…barely. Hahaha. Loved their version. Yeah Adam was great in the background. Good reaction Danielle!😃
Hey Danielle !! Yes this is a great one with a very fun video. This was MEGA crossover hot for "Lonestar" in 1999 from country to pop/top40. This is used by many folks now in their weddings & also as a 1st dance at receptions. Such a pretty song, elevated by Home Free with those amazing harmonies...and yes their "resolves" at the end of songs are just so satisfyingly gorgeous
I love your reactions Danielle. There are so many reactors, who demonstrate that they have no idea about music outwith their own genre. You always demonstrate your wide knowledge with your informative comments, showing us that you most definitely understand music and know what you're talking about. Keep it up!
I tried to catch your reaction live last night and my internet connection wouldn't cooperate... My wife and I were lucky enough to catch Home Free live in 2018 and I will tell you that they are BETTER live - you can hear SO much more in the room than a recording allows you to hear. From Tim's lows through the layering and the HIT of the percussion - incredible! Catch them live and then let us know what you think...
If you want to hear Rob do solos, he takes lead in their original song 'Why Not' and he and Chance share the lead in their cover of 'One Man Band.' Oh, and this is _not_ the cutest video they've done. That honor, in my opinion goes to either their cover of 'Think A Little Less' or their cover of 'Die A Happy Man' (in which Tim and his wife recreate how he proposed to her for the video)
Wonderful job by Home Free, and you! It's so cute seeing the pure joy you get reviewing them. You have to check out Tim's cover of Will You Still Love Me/Stay from his new solo doo-wop album. He does everything by his self. It's absolutely incredible. #subscriptionsquad
No one has yet commented on the huge gulf between the song lyrics, which are clearly about a couple who have been together for some time, let me call it "Mature Love," ...... And the video of 3 guys at their First Dance . They have NO IDEA how to approach the Girls and ask them to dance. This video instantly transported me to those days! 7th Grade , my First Dance and all that insecurity! 'Girls' were a Mystery! Yet the intense Focus of my desire, my fantasy. The video captures that perfectly. . Yet the lyrics have an entirely different Story to tell.
Another favorite from the guys, but it seems that I say that about all of their songs. Great reaction. 'The Driver' has harmonies that will blow you away.
Love your reactions, thank you!! Have you watched the Crazy video with Austin in the lead? Awesome! How about Blue Ain't Your Color, such a unique one for them, Rob leads. Did you watch Bless the Broken Road? Oh wow! Harmonies all over the place, they all get to shine. So many great moments we can all share with our guys Home Free. Take care.
Danielle thank you for your reactions to Home Free. I enjoy your comments so much on the shuttle features and accents in their movements that you skillfully notice. I wanted to give you a little background on the group because I do not think reactionists are aware of the talent that Adam Chance offers in the group. Brothers Chris & Adam Rupp and Tim Foust started the group. As they developed, they picked up Rob Lundquist. A while later they booked a performance on a cruise ship where they met Auston Brown. Later, after winning the Sing-Off contest, Chris Rupp decided he wanted to work on other projects and left the group. A search was made for a replacement. After auditions, they picked Adam Chance. Tim said the main reason they chose him was that he could sing “real high and real low.” So you can tune your ear for when one of the other vocalists is featured you can be sure that Adam Chance is filling in for whatever they are not doing. I think the best example of this is their song “MayDay.”
I´m sorry but they did not hold any auditions they had been friends with Adam for many years , they filmed their cover of - House Party in Chances appartment in L.A. And when Chris left he said he wanted Chance because he felt he would be the perfect fit , they showed it in their [ VERY COUNTRYFRIED ] cover of -- White Christmas when Chris gives the pitch pipe
Tim is not a founding member. Chris and Adam were the founding members back in 2000. Their persistence, hard work, sacrifices and dedication kept their dream alive. They were by no means over night successes. They toured constantly and worked like dogs. There were a multitude of members that came and went before Rob joined them, then Tim, then Austin. There is a series of videos called The History of Home Free and it is fascinating.
#subscriptionsquad Thank you! Home Free Sunday Best is my favorite cute video! Adam Rupp sings high tenor and beatboxes. To hear the basses Adam and Tim lead, Folsolm Prision Blues is awesome.

Off the subject...I am waiting, perhaps impatiently, to hear your reaction to Geoff Castellucci's latest two covers; Ain't No Sunshine and Way Down! Both are fabulous and in the Way Down cover Geoff hits the lowest note I have ever heard! Thank you!
Hi Danielle, thank you for sharing your musical insight. I really enjoy your reaction videos. They have worked with Peter Hollens, and many musicians online are learning to better meld their music together from dozens if not hundreds of separate tracks. A good example is their "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" (th-cam.com/video/L6CE5IMX_7M/w-d-xo.html) that they did during the pandemic with Peter and hundreds of their patrons. But to understand how Peter led the way in his audio-video editing, you can go back 10 years to when he teamed with dancing violinist Lindsey Stirling to produce "Skyrim" with no music but what those two produced in 120 tracks (th-cam.com/video/BSLPH9d-jsI/w-d-xo.html). That performance has been seen by no fewer than 89 million people. With reaction videos, etc., probably many more.
Danielle Marie, you are definitely the best singer who reviews music videos on TH-cam, so I was wondering if you would review someone who I think is the best female singer ever, Eva Cassidy? Love your reaction - and the fact that you were so into the music AND the story told in the video. The fear of rejection: the story of just about every young man. Is Austin's 'vocal cry' sort of like yodeling ?
Danielle, will you review Love train next and listen to all the wonderful things that Adam Chance does in the background, he gets seriously overlooked! All of them are awesome but AC does a lot of things in the background that makes things sound so full. AC covers a lot of the "Bass Blends" as well as he can seriously get up into the rafters too. I think you will enjoy covering "Love Train"

I wonder how hard it was for Austin to get that twang back. He had spent all his effort losing it (Had a full scholorship and degree in Music Theater and to the best of my knowledge that is where his professional experience lay when he met Home Free)? Perhaps you could weigh in on how difficult it is to return once you have trained your voice out of a trait? Is it as simple as switching gears or is it very difficult?
