    This is an amazing piece of equipment for the price. I'm doing a new setup in my 2015 grand cherokee and definitely going to use this. I was using the factory deck going into an audiocontrol lc6i, tapped into the factory amp after its been crossed over and frequency limited. I summed the channels on LC6i but it seemed like I still had a major Drop-off at 30 hz still, and my box was a Transmission line tuned to 33 hz so it shouldn't have fallen off so steep after 30 hz IMOP. This time I think I'll use an LC2i tapped straight off the back of the factory deck before it goes into the factory amp and is limited by crossover points to start off with. Then I'll run the LC2i into this badass piece of equipment. Thats should give me a very percise and full range of frequencies to send to my 4 channel and sub amp vs last setup. Thanks for uplaod. I'll be watching again to set mine up when installed

      I have a 2017 Grand Cherokee. Instead of tapping into the factory speaker wiring, I use a Bluetooth receiver and send the signal to the DSP on a 3.5 mm to RCA. Then I distribute the DSP out back to my factory AUX jack. Tuned!
      Then the other DSP out goes to my subwoofer amp. Tuned!
      No cutting wires. No bass limiter. No LOC.

    It’s awesome. I have a ported subwoofer so I played around with the delay for my front main speakers. So now my front is delayed 1204 ms from my sub and it sounds amazing. And you can tune it from your driver seat on your phone in real time.

    • @RAW_Reality
      @RAW_Reality 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm under very heavy assumption that the distance between your ear and the farthest output of your sub/port is venturing up on 140 feet, my guy... In other words, the setting of 1.204 seconds is excessive, unless you're driving a double stretched Suburban.
      In my own personal experience (of setting up multiple installs), a simple way to get a great value for this setting is by doing a bit of math with a string, some scotch tape, and a tape measure... I'll explain...

    • @RAW_Reality
      @RAW_Reality 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take the string (about a foot in length) and tape it to your vehicle's ceiling centered between your seat and the passenger side a few inches forward from the headrests (where your ears will be located). You can then either tie a knot in the string or draw on it with a marker where the height of your ears is. From there, you take 2 measurements... One from the furthest point your enclosure produces sound from (whether it's the location of the port or the sub itself depending on your orientation/setup) back to the marking on your string. Write that measurement down, in decimal form. Then take the measurement from the string's marking to the center of your front windshield, doubling that length as your "distance", and adding the two numbers together....
      Now, I don't have your DSP, but most of them do time correction offsetting based upon the number you just came up with; the spacial distance of your enclosure and it's inherent reverb. The way my HU's DSP works is by entering that distance and it automatically delays the output of the door speakers accordingly (through a calculation) to allow for the subwoofer in the back's sound to travel the distance to my ear enough that when the doors play, all sound from all speakers hits my ear at the same time (which is effectively what you've done in a more barbaric way with your "playing around" and came up with some absurd numbers because of). That all now out of the way and said, while I know my value for this measurement and how my delays are set accordingly, I don't know yours, but I'd be willing to help... If you can get me the measurements said prior, I can get back to you what your values should be closer to, 'cuz they're very likely to be a (much) smaller one than what you've given them. The smaller the vehicle, the smaller those values need to be, so I doubt you're driving a limousine with subs in the trunk to warrant the 1.2 second delay you've presently set up. If you want my help, it's there for you, but it is after all your vehicle and decision to alter as you see fit and you'd know what sounds best to you in it... That, and not all units processing time correction will do it "the same way", so there are variances to be had...
      As a side note, if you just want a reference to do the math yourself without the use of my HU's calculation, a highly reputable sound company posted these "standard" values as a chart:
      5 meters = 292 m/s delay
      10 meters = 584 m/s delay
      15 meters = 876 m/s delay
      20 meters = 1170 m/s delay
      or
      10 feet = 179.3 m/s delay
      20 feet = 358 m/s delay
      30 feet = 536 m/s delay
      40 feet = 714 m/s delay
      50 feet = 892 m/s delay
      (Which, none of these account for reverb, so I'd recommend doubling to self-correct echoing and is more inline with what my HU will typically project.)

      @@RAW_Reality thanks buddy. I’ll try it. I just played around for 20 minutes listening till it sounded best. Playing with the bass knob and listening to kick drums and bass response syncing up.
      As you know, physics is not always logical. The cabin of a vehicle is complex and there’s a bunch of variables inside the electronics going from a head unit through Bluetooth then through multiple amplifiers. I have an inexpensive DSP that might not be calibrated correctly playing through a Grand Cherokee with odd glass panels and a ported subwoofer. Maybe my 1204 ms might be 306 ms in theory.
      But I’ll try the string and see what happens.
      Thanks for taking your time to help me out.

      @@johnviera3884
      I meant to say previously that sound travels at 761 MPH (or about 1100 ft/sec), so if your delay really was over a second, that's more than the length of a football field you're calibrating at (hence the reason I wanted to bring it to your attention). But another thing that I didn't even think about then is that it could just be that some DSPs move a decimal point when relaying information... Like, it'll show "1204 ms" when it really means "120.4 ms", and that'd seem very likely given the size of your vehicle and how it correlates with that scale I listed. Now, assuming that's the case with how your DSP displays, it could be that you're actually _under_ the delay you'd want to be at, as my vehicle (which is similar to yours in size) is a 366ms delay (or what might appear to be 3660 to you). Who knows. 🤷🏻‍♂️😅
      But yeah, all things considered, it's up to you to decide what sounds best to you; I just thought the math sounded all wonky and thought maybe I could offer some help... So hopefully everything's sounding great, however you end up getting it there. 😉👍🏼

    I have had this exact dsp for like 6 months now its a great entry to the dsp world I love it and the price is unbeatable.
    I do want to speak on the phase tho. I honestly use the phase options all the time. When I unplug my door speakers from the amp my polarity gets messed up a lot and instead of physically switching the wires around again I can easily switch the phase.
    Also, this dsp does have pink noise but you can only access it from the dsp not with the app

    Kick ass explanation! Especially letting them know about Q factor! I own both Stetsom DSP dial models (8 channel & 4 channel) love them but they are used in 1 car. 8 channel handles 2 Massive Audio Blade 4 channels in stereo config and the 4 channel Stetsom is set up for 2 matching blade monos, each channel mono 1&2 out to amp1 then 3&4 out to amp2 both are 1000.1's driving a Helix dual 2ohm coil Esprit 12" Carbon Fiber flat! Then I have a Toro Rage 2 bridge to a Eclipse twin drive center channel that mounts on the rear view mirror, so I ask u will that PX2 DSP drive a center channel signal correctly do u 🤔 currently it's installed but not powered because I ran out of channels! This is a badass build in the trunk of my BMW E46 and I was going to try Stetsom little hide away(remote control) DSP you tested but all my equipment is big and it's my business demo that little box is just too small to show honestly 🤣 Head unit is a Excelon CD/USB/Bluetooth with 5 volt outs pumped through a American Bass 9 band 1/2 Din EQ/8 volt line driver(nice EQ if you've never tried it) anyways what do you think of this dilemma for a guy who's been doing this for 30+ years I'm stumped & brain is locked up! By the way I chose those Stetsom DSP's for the lights to match my MASSIVE amps badges, then they discontinued the Blade V1's with blue power LEDs and went to V2 with a green power(don't match) so I ordered a Toro to match the best I could(you can see it lit on my Instagram) system is in the works but Maine is cold so I have to work in little time slots till spring weather 3 heaters in my garage cost a fortune daily! Great videos keep them going, also got some questions for you about Soundstream Nano 5 channels for.my Mazda 3 demo but I'll hit you up on that later! Peace

    Thank you for the walk thru. I bought this unit but the Air 8 version with a 32 band eq. The software in the app is identical.
    Some points to note: once you program the DSP, it saves it to the unit, and you can then “boot up” the same settings on any phone that you connect to the DSP, so the “memory” is “transferred” to any phone connected to it.
    Also, the time alignment is one of the most incredible tools as it helped a massive vehicle like mine (Navigator) finally sound right.
    All in all, this is an incredible dsp and very easy to use. Thank you for reviewing this.

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  วันที่ผ่านมา

      You would just cross them over and EQ them how you like on your mids. And if they are all bridged then there is no left right correct both left and right are coming out of mids if they are using only one bridged channel. So the on the DSP going out of DSP into amp just output L&R to your bridged 1/2 ch on amp.

I see pioneer has one but has a tiny 50x4 amp with it and dont need it plus too weak .can you steer me in the right direction for something a long those lines ? Or maybe none out there , i dont know. When you show the individual channel EQ, there is an F1, F2, and F3. I understand what you are saying when adjusting the F1 but what are F2 and F3?
    Also, is delay the same thing as what is labeled as time alignment on other DSP's?

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This DSP has 3 customizable frequency numbers per channel. This the f1, f2 and f3. Those are the 3 custom frequencies. This is in addition to the main eQ on the DSP. Yes the delay would be same as time alignment …it will allow you to adjust speakers to “hit your ear” at the same time if you have any need for it.

    • @kgators8345
      @kgators8345 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @HiFiVector I think I get it now. If you had any problem areas, you could zone in on up to 3 specific hz. Otherwise, you can only target the areas listed on the master input EQ.

    I'm really exhausted messing with this. I've spent hours trying to get this to work and no luck, sounds horrible. I get the concept of crossovers but they all sound bad and the gain options on this I just can't get right. I feel I'm damaging my system. I'm using a oscope. Whats the point of main in and out gain. I'm one step away just unplugging it

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The main purpose of the main input gain is to simply set your input RCA gain. The output channels each have their own gain to fine tune the gain to each output channel RCA. If you are confused just set the output channel gains to all the same value ( say 0 )and then just use your main input gain to control all of the output gains together.

    Got a question. I had a Rockford Symmetry epx2 witha 24 band card back in the day. So can you put a y cable on channel one and use that for front highs, one on channel two for front mids, another y on channel three for rear highs, etc. Set the unit at the L+R on each channel in center will it not have to stereo sound that way? And sound weird?The Symmetrys eq was too much but the xovers were awesome and just super control on everything

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can configure it that way. And you would just lose your left and right separation most people would say it’s not too big of a deal but on some songs there is separation that you would miss out on. Also there is another expert DSP with more left and right inputs that might be useful in your situation.

    So bro. For instance, I wish my subs hit the 50-60 Hz range harder. Could I do a low q factor and EQ for 50 53 55, on one output channel and do 57, 59, 61 on another output channel. Then take one channel and plug it in my Left input on amplifier and the other on my Right. And by doing this boost those frequencies? Also I know one EQ will cancel another out. My head unit EQ I cannot turn off. Should I just set it flat? Like my phone EQ I can't turn off either so I set to flat. Thank you for all your help bro

    • @HiFiVector
      @HiFiVector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea try and keep your head unit EQ flat then adjust with DSP. An easier way is to use a lower Q setting ( wider effected frequency range) so if you set your EQ to boost 55hz with a low Q it will boost 50 to 60. That is the benefit of changing the Q. You can have it effect more of the surrounding frequencies or only pinpoint that one frequency.

    well kinda of disapointed, i have a razor dsp amp that as a analog audio dsp chip in , it givies a 12 band full adjustable eq per channel [Q, FREQ, GAIN] per band this really allows you to shape and correct the sound per speaker, what are you supposed to do with a 3 band??????. . . they really have it back wards, , it should be a 12 band per channel , to shape and correct each spaker and then a 3 band as a eq in to shape the over all sound. . . . I just bought this for a customer project and was hoping it would allow me to tune with a 12 band per speaker like the razor dsp sadly disapointed. . all in all its a great item BUT that fully adjustable 12 band per channel is crucial IF your trying to correct issues. .
