Time alignment
Equalizer (for each channel)
Parametric equalizer
Crossover/filter (independent for each channel)
Crossover slope selector (12, 18, 24dB/octave
Phase inverter
Input gain level control
Output gain level control

The benefit of having high voltage output on car amplifiers for RCA connections primarily revolves around improved noise rejection and reduced stress on the amplifier. High voltage preamp outputs allow for a reduction in the gain required by the amplifier, which in turn reduces the potential for noise in the system. This is because a higher input voltage to the amplifier means that the amplifier does not have to work as hard to amplify the signal to the desired level, leading to less distortion and a clearer sound
Having high RCA voltage is very important if you want to keep the gain down on your amplifiers to avoid a high noise floor. Alot of amps with poor signal to noise (manufacturers LOVE to lie about the s/n numbers) need the gain down low or you will hear noise. 4 or 5v is plenty. I've owned DSPS with 2v all the way up to 8v RMS on a helix DSP ultra and i can say that if you have a solid 4v or higher it is sufficient for the vast majority of applications.
How does one go about using a dsp for old school SQish amplifiers that use .2 - 2V inputs?

love this channel bad ass dsp keep up the good work my friend thank you
Thanks so much man I appreciate you!
Just ordered one with your link and discount code.
Good timing sir ❤😊 I getting this one to my instal ❤️🏆🖤
I have a Bronco w/non BO system, and I'm thinking of switching from the kicker key 200 dsp to this dsp ..plus upgrading the fronts to a 3 way setup. Do I need anything between this dsp and oem HU like the AC load generator or an Loc? I plan on getting a more powerful amp that has at least 100w x4 @4ohm to power fronts only,.. OR a 6 channel amp to power all speakers instead of the kicker.
I too have a 2013 Nissan Armada platinum but I’m curious if you have the big 3 done on your’s, & if so what did you do about the “RVC” “VVCS” on the stock neg battery cable!? Did you by-pass it or was you able to get a 1/0 through there! I’ve searched forums and everything but can’t find a definitive answer! It look like I could only fit a 4 gauge thru it but I plan to get a HO alt later so will have to upgrade a figure it out the 1/0 later anyway! Anything helps thanks bro and keep up the good work!🫡💪🏼💯 Also I just picked up the stetsom bt dsp! I seen your review after I purchased it!
Unicorn dsp, very nice and love the looks too
If you drive all the dsp channels will the 5 Volt clip go down to the 3.5 Volt advertised? I wonder how much the small power supply in those dsps can handle in real world applications.
I'm curious what source unit he used (and it's pre-out voltage). Does this DSP ultimately convert everything to 4.5 volts no matter how strong or weak the input signal is? I already bought one, replacing my Expert Air8.
Is this capable of making adjustments below 20hz? What is the max time delay between channels? Thanks
I have the Expert PX2 Connect DSP It looks like it’s the same design circuit and software. It works fantastic.
The time alignment is amazing to sync up your front speakers with your subwoofer
same and was going to say the same thing. super happy with the purchase (closeout on woot form $59) too
@@jdizzle3740where did you get it from?
Can the zen a2b interface be ran to this marts DSP

My pleasure!
@BitJeffAudio where can I get a manual and the android app? Can they be tuned by a PC if desired?
@bbriankb1086 can't use a PC but you could use a tablet so you have a bigger screen. I use mine on an iPad
The Android app you link does not work. I can not get the EQ to work at all it shuts off the app every time on Android I have a 14-day return policy I would like to get this working? Version 1.2.7.
This has problems I bought 3 my expert never gave this tuning problems
I picked up two Expert 2 DSP's that you reviewed and they both have a faint background hum. This unit must be cleaner and is built more robust.
Would you switch from a Taramps dsp2.4 to this one? I wonder how clean the rca volts are on the Taramps dsp lol. My Taramps highs setup is running off of an Audio Control LC1i wired to a factory dodge 8.4in uconnect.
Actual have not tried the taramps yet.
Wonder how the prv audio 2.8x holds up to this. It claims 5 to 6 volts for input and output
this thing is awesome
Does the settings on the dsp overrun the filters on the amp or do i set the amp to full and use the DSP crossover?
As far as crossovers go yes set crossovers to full on amp and use DSP to control crossovers settings.
Any clue what chip this uses?
I picked up two of the Expert DSP's that you reviewed a few months ago. I've been very happy with it for sure. Don't know how clean it is, don't remember you checking it. Kind of wish I got this one instead though.
I had good luck with the expert DSP this one has higher rca output voltage though but I also liked my experts.
@@HiFiVectorok in ready to purchase... which one this or expert
Qre the dsp settings you're adjusting on your phone also stored in the dsp that way i can set it and forget it or do i need to have constant connection between my phone and dsp for that to work?
I’d like to know the answer too.
Once you save the settings, they're stored in the device.
@@r.d.1056 settings are stored on device but app needs to stay open. I’m returning mine
@tctbs1327 please elaborate. I don't understand what you are saying. I've Ben testing this device extensively. Once the settings are saved, there is no need to connect to it unless you want to make changes. My only gripe so far is that you can't label the channels or presets.
no Hi level inputs?
Can you run this DSP without A? Headed unit just straight from the DSp or you have to have a head unit to run this DSP ? Trying to put one on my little Mini. Bike
No not unless you buy one of the little blue tooth rca receivers to get your signal into the DSP.
YES! 3.5 headphone to RCA male aux cord to dsp. I haven't use a head unit in 3 yrs. Use a iPad or a old phone with Bluetooth.
This is identical to my ds18 dsp4.8bt. love the thing need more info on how to set up the limiters. Help
Looks similar but they are not same I tried that one you mentioned as well and this is a better DSP.
Good timing. Been looking for a DSP and definitely budget minded. I had been looking at the Dayton Audio DSP408 but it had mixed reviews and is twice as much as this one (after buying the bluetooth adapter that it does not include) in the review. Does this accept speaker level inputs? I hear that a dedicated LOC is best even with the ones that do but its still a nice feature. May have to order one today
Yea I would use a standalone low level converter they are cheap nowadays. Sadly the Dayton was one I tested and when I eventually tested it it was totally dirty on the signal and I could not get it clean…didn’t even get .5 volts out of it clean. Maybe I got a bad one who knows. But this is a good one for sure.
@@HiFiVectorcould you put Amazon affiliate link i see they sell it also. I wouldn't give big Jeff audio 1c of my money.
Holy cow 4.6v unclipped. I just ordered one to replace my Dayton with the bluetooth and remote. Thank you. Now just need a LOC. :)
What did Jeff do to make you feel that way?
@PeterFeltersnatch852 big Jeff has exclusivity on all online sales of Marts Digital products in the US
Question, so I set the eq setting s on the head unit to 0 in order to set them on the dsp?
Yes that’s usual where you start at flat on head unit then EQ with DSP.
@@HiFiVector thanks!
I have one, the only issue so far is the Bluetooth signal is very week, I have to leave my phone in the car are it will disconnect. With my Expert Electronics DSP I can go about 30yds and still get a signal.
Does it produce any rf noise when it is installed in a 12V system? Bench testing is great and all but Im more interested in what it will do in its natural enviornment.
No noise I had this installed for. Few weeks to test prior to the video as I bought it last November so I had messed with it a lot beforehand.
Been using it for a few days now. It has full balanced input & output (unlike the dayton audio). So, as long as you use quality RCAs you won't have noise.
@@r.d.1056 Thanks. I have a DSR1 but I find that it is unreliable connecting via bluetooth. I was looking at the Dayton until I saw the reviews stating that noise was an issue. Will have to give this a closer look.
@almartinelli5054 the Dsr1 is a better unit than this one. Are you streaming directly to the Dsr1? If not, there's no reason to be constantly connecting to it. Once tuned it should be a set it & forget it type of thing.
@@r.d.1056 Havent had it long so Im still experimenting with it. I was having some issues with rf noise which i found to be the input plug was not plugged in all the way. I dont stream via bluetooth as I can do that from the head unit if I wish, I use the USB input for most of my music. It is a set it and forget it but at times I find, especially with mp3, that everything seems to be recorded at different levels so I find myself adjusting the input eq more often than not. I was just curious as to whether the settings were more or less advanced than the DSR1. Overall its been a good unit so far but always looking for something better.
That's cheap for that DSP with that hot of a signal because you are right. Most DSP is giving a low voltage signal, which is nothing wrong with . But once you have that listening experience of that pure clean signal at a higher voltage, you are like DAMN !!!
Can you use speaker level directly into this DSP?
No you need a high to low level converter
Where do you download the app? Where can I get a manual.pdf? Their website is in serious need of attentiion... don't even see a BTX8 listed as a product or support. I picked up two at that price point, but would like to see the DSP software
Go to the link that I have in the video description and it has links to download the apps right on the webpage.
You have to give permission to let your device download the APK
Any idea why the android download don't work I got android so this is worthless if I can't use my galaxy fold 3 to tune the dsp
All I know is that some android devices you have to install the apk file. So you have to install the apk file on your phone it’s not automatically installed on some android. You can look up online how to install apk files. But the download should be here at lower part of the page.

Hey HiFi I just ordered this DSP from big jeff audio it's actually my first EVER DSP i have a DD-1 and CC-1 but when I used them with my stock head unit and LOC i couldn't get them to work properly I was told my signal was not strong enough so I ordered this DSP, Head unit and a ton of other stuff im redoing my entire system to get ready for a down 4 sound HD3 single 15 enclosure and a new 15" Incriminator audio TYRANT rated for 5K RMS but I have a brand new Deafbonce AAK 6k and a AAK 180.4 for the doors anyways with all this new equipment i am wondering if you can recommend a decent oscilloscope for a decent price so I can try again with the SMD tools and cross check with the oscilloscope I am trying to get into competitive audio and I don't want anything to mess up from a clipped signal and I already almost blew two subs trying to tune by ear so I want multiple ways to check it just to make sure for next time
This is the one I mainly use and I have a few it’s very accurate and a ton of features for the price.

Is there a knob for volume and bass?
No
Where do the 8 rca outs go?
I guess a amp but what amp has 8 ins?
You can go to 8 amps or 8 channels and every combination of the two
@@Mr.Thermistor7228 4 channel for mids and highs and monoblock with 2 or maybe 4 subs?
4 channels for front stage ( 2ch for tweeters L&R , 2ch for mids L&R ) . 2 channels for rear ( L&R ) . 2 channels for subs . = 8 ch
4ch amp for the mids/tweets, 2ch amp for the midbass, and a mono amp for the subs. 3way active front stage plus sub.
Nice. I'd have 10% max gain memory setting, for when people borrow my car.
I take my faceplate off the odd time I let someone borrow the car. Always take it off when car goes to a shop. No one is messing with me stuff. My friend had his subs blown by a shop fucking with his gear.
@derekgardin1512 good idea. Unfortunately for me, my stock head unit can't be swapped, so I use a LC2i Pro. I could pull the harness plug to the head unit though.
Cant find this in UK..any suggestions guys?👋🙏
Is it better than the Dayton 4x8 for sound quality?
Good question. I'd like to know too
I have the dayton and this is looking like its replacement …hope it does sound as good
Yes. I just switched & it sounds better, it has balanced inputs so ZERO noise! The dayton has pitiful input sensitivity, this one can take a full 4+ volts & has much higher output voltage, so you need less gain on the amps. It has a master input gain & input EQ, the dayton does not. I like the time alignment settings better on this one.
It has a few quirks. You have to make sure to save any changes because it won't auto save like the dayton. Also, you can't label the channels or presets, or at least I haven't figured it out yet. And you have to connect to it manually each time. So far I like it better & I think it sounds better.
So I got the DSP and I cannot get the application to work it keeps freezing every time you go to the equalizer and or equalizer on each Channel it just shuts off. Android app does not work!
I found another app that works it’s the same app just different s color. Search for “GS X8 DSP” app.
@@HiFiVector I have that one also and it does the exact same thing. They are both version 1.2.7 at this point I have my gains and my crossover set but I cannot get to the eqs. I really want to try this one but you can't adjust the eqs unless I get an iPhone apparently.

It’s a nice one indeed.
I bought one with your link. I figure if it does everything shown without introducing noise its worth the $100. The specs dont say anything about balanced inputs, so I guess that will be the deciding factor.

@@Dauntless.steadfast.fortitude I got it narrowed down to my rear left RCA cable coming into the DSP,, just that one wire is whats giving me buzz/whine. Still no buzz when direct to amp.
