      Hi Jason Bourne. Thank you for sharing That's right. Prawn's head give a natural umami taste to the food. Soup will be very tasty without having to use the MSG. 😀😀 Thank you for the comment

    The prawn broth looks good! Not only I can make noodle soup with this, I might even make Korea stews like kimchi jjigae or tofu jjigae.

    Thanks so much again for sharing how to make prawn broth. We have the same method here in the Philippines, extract the flavor with a mortar and pestle. Shrimp heads really make the dishes so flavorful so please don’t throw them out away!! 😋😋😋

    This looks delicious! Here in Australia I have fresh water crayfish... they have a little tail meat and a big body/head, lots of guts inside that I would usually throw away. Do you think I can use your same method? I just wonder if the stomach/guts will taint the flavour of the stock.

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi paul John. Yes, it can be done the same method for stock and would be delicious. I recommend to use the stock within a day for seafood stock. Thanks for the comment 😊

    Hi! Thank you for the recipe. I tried making prawn stock in the past but it smelled way too fishy (kinda like raw fish). Any idea where I went wrong?

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi o, thank you for the question 😀 I'm not sure myself - the only thing that comes to mind, is the prawns may not have been fresh. Usually prawn stock doesn't smell like raw fish; however, the stock has to be consumed within 1 day. Hope it helps 😀

      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kuben Moodliar, Yes, I did not add any seasoning as this is the base stock. Seasoning can be added when cooking the dish i.e. Tom Yum soup or vegetables soup. I hope this helps :) Happy cooking

    How long can the broth last if frozen? Thank you 😊

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi ZEL Official. For the prawn broth I don't recommend to keep it as it loose the freshness very quickly. If possible, cook it today for today use. Otherwise, if keep in the freezer maybe for a couple of days. Thank you for the question. 😀😀

    How long can the broth be kept for?

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Pink guy who likes anime. This prawn broth should be cooked and use it within a day. I don't recommend to keep the broth overnight or for a longer period as it can develop the strong shellfish smell and taste won't be good too. Happy cooking 😀😀

      @ayeshanajeeb6631. It's optional, for me I don't as that where all the nice flavor come from. 😀😀

    Hi, Somjit. When I remove the head from the body much of the orange/pink insides come out as
    well (the black poo-string goes into the trash bin, of course). I see some of the orange-coloured insides are in the heads when you start with the mortar and pestle, but I still don't know how much of the insides that come out with the removal of the body I should keep for making the stock. Please advise. Thank you!

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @littlelight1147. Avoid using oil in the soup. Yes, it will be very fragrant if fried before making a stock. Thanks for the comment. 😃😃
