It's funny how no one recognized Miyeon singing the pre chorus lol, her lower register is crazy good
Yeah, that was obvious. Her voice is unmistakable
She my bias. So I’m with ya 😂. I think she is the MVP of the English songs. And even I didn’t expect that. Figured Minnie or Yuqi would since they’re fluent enough. But Miyeon shined for sure!
You should see her sang in 'Lee Mu Jin Service' and 'Begin Again',
Quick breakdown of the MV concept:
The guy in glasses is an abuser who's already killed 4 women, if you rewatch the MV, the visuals tell how the 4 girls died and the 5th girl, Minnie is the only one who survives and she kills the guy to avenge the other 4. The girls disappearing at the end and Minnie alone is the souls of the 4 finally resting in peace.
It's about surviving domestic abuse. Check-out "Eyes Roll" and "Flip It" for much the same vibe from this album. Only I-DLE.
Miyeon took the bridge part, killed it
Miyeon killed this whole English album to be honest! I think the vibe of the English songs somehow fit her more than even their regular songs👏👏

THEORY TIME:
At the end of the video, Miyeon, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua are all dead.
Miyeon got drowned in the pool
Soyeon got choked against the wall
Yuqi got pushed down the stairs
Shuhua got killed in the car
The key is in the lasts seconds of the MV, the 4 girls appear in those locations surrounded by flowers, often seen in cemeteries.
The only one who appears without flowers is Minnie, the survivor, the one that gets revenge against the abuser (with the support of the other girls' souls) and sail away to be at peace.

While its definitely open for interpretation...they have made it clear this is in rally against DV which is on the rise in SK at the moment.
Um....4 members are dead. The bf is a serial killer basically. He had a track record of abusing and killing his gfs.
- Shuhua: died in the car accident. You slowly see funeral flowers used in korea growing in her car memorializing her slowly as Minnie the only survivor basically seeks revenge to gain justice for all hes done.
Miyeon: Died by drowning. We literally see her being drowned mid video. Shes haunting the pool area...thats why shes throwing funeral flower petals into the pool.
**SN: shes the bridge part you guys liked.**
Yuqi: She died being pushed down the stairs. Thats why you see her around the staircase throughout the video.
Soyeon: died by strangulation. You see for a brief moment him putting his hand around her neck.
Minnie: last and only surviving gf. She seeks revenge and justice for the women her bf abused and murdered.
At the end we see them in white as a symbol that they crossed over in peace and now are Minnies guardians for her getting their justice. She wakes up to be alone to show that the other girls were never there...only in spirit.
Another side note...not sure if its true but many people were saying the bfs name shown translates to "serial killer".
This video was wayyyyyy darker and more in depth than you guys caught on to. Lol but i always love the reactions. Yall are hilarious! 😂
This is might be my favorite EP for this year.
Miyeon singing the bridge is heavenly, this EP showcased her range perfectly.
I want to see 1080p's reaction to the bside "Eyes roll" so bad lol, that song deserves it's own MV to be honest
It was Miyeon singing the bridge part btw. I know her lower register in the pre chorus was probably the most shocking part about this song for half of the fandom.
It's actually sad that Miyeon only got reconized for her vocals through this English EP, her voice is so freaking mature and she can hit both the low and hight notes so effortlessly.
I've also noticed in their behind the scene recordings for the korean songs, Miyeon's voice sounds so mature compared to the finale released version of the songs, but Soyeon seemed to like her nasally vocals better from what I've seen. Glad she got to showcase her range in this album and hope it's not the last time we hear it
I think her range and skill has been showcased pretty well in their albums. I’ve always recognized her insane vocal skills and flexibility through how many different spots of different songs she sings in :) she can do it all and it shows through their non-English albums perfectly imo!
e.g. DARK X-File she does this low aggressive tone. Her tone is less aggressive but also low in prechorus of Nxde too. Nxde and Villain Dies prechorus always gives me goosebumps.
Queencard and Dumdi Dumdi and UH OH and Nxde chorus shows her more powerful and higher ranges.
Not rly about vocal range but TOMBOY and LION and OMG shows her amazing breath control too.
I think you'll say that if you only listen to their title tracks (although even then she employs a deeper register when necessary) but Miyeon has an entire solo album out + their b-sides showcase her vocals quite well it's not anyones fault but the GP for overlooking her because she's showcased her strengths time and time again

The song goes hand in hand with what (g)i-dle has been telling with his music, in this case the abuse between couples, at first they are seen happy and then they are seen as the man mistreats them, there is a theory that says that the abuse was so great that the boy killed them, Shuhua in the car, Yuqi down the stairs, Miyeon drowned, Soyeon Hanged, Minnie found out about this, she was going to marry him, but they did not get married, Minnie murders him so he can avenge the girls who were his partner and died at his hands, as well as not do that to any other woman again. The lyrics sound strong, coming from her perspective within the abuse without realizing it and at the same time knowing the damage she is suffering.
This is lowkey their best title track since HWAA no cap
For me this is very much late 1980 vibes. Madonna Like a Prayer mixed with some very early EDM. Fire.

The MV story is actually very complicated... Minnie revenges all the other girls, they are dead because of the guy they fell in love with, he is a violent man. You can see all of them in the place where they died... and in the end they all smile, they are finally free
This Story ist way more messed up than you tought. He murders Yuqi (thrown down the stairs), Miyeon (drowned), Shuha (car crash) and Soyeon (chocked to death). You can tell if you watch the imagery. Shuha's in a car full of the boquets you'd See at korean funerals. You litterally See miyeons body in the water. You can See his left Hand on Soyeons neck. All the members are near where they died. Minnie figures out what is happening, the souls of the other four seem to be with her the whole time, so she survives the hit on her wedding and kills him, they are all at peace in the ending
Not a dream. Everything points to the other girls being killed before by the guy. Now they were alongside Minnie and they all got revenge.

The music/lyrics 👯🪩💃🏽 the video domestic violence and revenge. I feel the other girls were killed by the guy (suicide or actually killed by the injuries ) and she did kill him just escaped to not get charged
