I'm soo happy that laurie married Amy becuase Jo deserves Fredrich. And the Friedrich and Jo in 1994 version is better than any version there is. I love Laurie and Jo as friends as they should be and Jo and Fredrich as a loving couples as they are.
They went off and got married first and asked second. Mhhh....' i like that you still call me Teddy' sounds like unfinished biz to me...plus Amy was always a lil spoiled .....for me. Never liked her. Even as an adult. Comes across as aloof to me. Dunst killed her role of younger Amy.
It's actually handled differently in the book. Amy and Laurie got engaged and wrote to their families first. So the families (and Jo) already knew of their engagement first and were happy for them. That they decided to get married before coming home was the surprise, and that is the detail the films love to use. The films tend to leave out that the engagement was announced first. Except the 1949 version that alludes that Amy and Laurie fell in love off camera. When they return home and Jo meets up with Laurie again, Jo is already referring to Amy as Laurie's wife.
Even though Laurie and Amy are married and have fallen in love, I’m glad Laurie thinks Jo’s his dearest friends, just like she thinks he is.
