@@agathajadwiszczok3503he never said the 90s had zero negative qualities so im not sure what kind of response this was 😅 a tad out of place tbh mate .
This is not only the best movie adaptation of Little Women, its more proof that the 1990s is one of the greatest decades in film history. The cinematography, set design and art direction in this version of Little Women magically transports audiences back to Massachusetts circa 1960.
Seriously, the 1990s were the golden age of movies. Some absolute wonders are older of course (The last Emperor for example) but I can't think of a time more dense with absolutely amazing movies of all genres than then early to mid 90ies. The year 1993 - 1995 alone, holy crap.
This is more like a summary!! Nothing left for you to be excited in the theatre. (But i guess all the viewers already know the whole plot anyway - except Joey Tribbiani, of course)
Yea, that’s what I was thinking. This trailer doesn’t really do it justice. There’s a lot of warmth and emotion there but the movie is so much richer and deep than this overview provides. Not to mention that they should have used the actual score from Thomas Newman feuding the trailer. Don’t get me wrong, this clip is good. I just feel like it’s a little flat. HAHA Nice jab there, on Joey. Lol
Hands down - The. Best. Version. It captures the essence of Alcott's novel beautifully, while gently introducing a feminist sensibility at the same time. Sublime perfection.
OH MY GOD I saw this as a kid at school, i remembered the Beth moment and the hairs burning and the book, but I would never imagined this is the movie with winona ryder, my favourite actress, wich means one of the first movie I saw was a movie with winona :D i'm so shocked and happy i'm going to see it again !
Beacausei saw "Heaters" some month ago and I tought this was my first movie with this actress but this in fact was that movie i saw like twelve years ago ?
The same cast must do Little Men. 1994 - 2024 is a long waiting time but perfect as the cast has aged well. How come no one talks about this? This may also be a perfect comeback film for Winona Ryder.
1994 little women stays superior. I can't stand watching the 2019 version of the movie. I feel like the cast lacked chemistry with each other and the movie overall doesn't have the warmth that the 1994 version has.
@@Brightangel001 Agreed. I mean, Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan and Meryl Streep? That by itself felt desperate. The biggest stars in the 1994 movie were Winona Ryder and Susan Sarandon. Then the 2019 Little Women gives us the weakest, most pathetic Laurie ever put on film?? After the best in Christian Bale?
I adore Little women and the versions that best please my heart and my spirit and my mind are 1994 (Winona Ryder makes a wonderful Jo) and 1949 (my favourite version) and I also have a soft spot for 1933 with Kathryn Hepburn . These versions are the best by far ....BUT the 1949 version with June Allyson as Jo ,Margaret O’Brien as Beth , Elizabeth Taylor as Amy and Janet Leigh as Meg are unbeatable in my opinion....I loathed the 2019 version as for me it lacked true heart and soul and glossed over truly important moments and Beths character was insubstantial I wasn't moved when she died and Amy was just so ghastly and ridiculous !...just my opinion of course
I prefer this version not just because I grew up with it but because it is also probably the only film adaptation that is the closes to the Novel . The problem with all the film adaptations of Alcott's book is that they place there own Feminist Interpretation onto the Material instead of trying to approach and tell the story from the way "Women " of the area viewd there place in society and the way Alcott herself chose to handle the whole "Women Question" . the other thing that virtually all the film adaptations miss and do not include is that Little Women If you ever read even half of the book is a very deeply religious book. In fact Religion specifically Christianity and its moral and guiding principals and teachings play a big role in the book and the characters lives and there development as it did in Alcott's life as well Her father Bronson Alcott was after all a Minister and a transcendentalist. I just can not stand the way the new adaptation of this Beloved classic was Butchered by the whole Neo Feminist Message that Alcott Herself would have more than likely not understood and even frowned upon. I am not saying that the 1994 version did not have its own preachy neo Feminist views that it did or was trying to push on the audience but they were more subtle. anyway in short , love and prefer this version to any other.
This movie is like a time portal back to the 90's, an innocent time of simplicity and the wonder of the unknown.
yes.... the book also transports me to that era
@@kantasharma1595 but the book is set in 1860 not the 90's :)
Dude, are you serious? I remember constant racial tensions in the 1990s. Loads of police brutality, too.

I watch this multiple times every Christmas it’s the best version, they’ll never beat it. It’s magical and I love it so much
My favourite version too!
I agree it is the best version perfect cast Winona Ryder is jo.
Who agrees? This is the one version that portrayed the book and characters well
I didn't read the book, but this version is the best 😁
And Gillian Anderson directed it…..
@@cindytartt4048 Gillian Armstrong* 😉
The 2019 version was pretty good but I still prefer this version.

This trailer gives away the whole movie!
Well, sure, but the book was published like 150 years ago...plenty of time for spoilers to come out!
Probably because _Little Women_ is already a very widely read book by the time this was released.

The 1994 and 1949 versions are the BEST Little Women films to ever exist ❤
Can't believe this version was released in the year when I was born :D !!!
I was obsessed with this movie at 6 years old. I'm 34 and I'm stiĺl obsessed with this movie. Sooo good.
Best version ever!

This movie transforms my depressed mood to warm and happy just with the opening theme in the beginning of the movie ♥️
One of my favorite classic movies.

They gave practically everything away in this trailer. I'm so glad I didn't see this before seeing the movie. I wouldn't have enjoyed it so.
I doubt many people have watched the movie before reading the book.
The best version - such a wonderful cast :-)
My favorite Version by far!. And it look soo much like the real Orchard House in MASS!
There will never be a version better than this!
My favorite version and my favorite soundtrack.

Which year are they showing in this movie ?
A bit late, but it’s between 1861 and 1865, as the events take place during the American Civil War
