Apologies for the error.
As a born and bred Singaporean who's lived in NZ for a decade, I think it's an accurate and balanced assessment of Singapore. The bottom line is no country is perfect. Yes, cars are cheaper in other countries and it may be less competitive to secure well paid jobs and an education, but taxes are high in the west and the healthcare system does not compare well to Singapore's. Crime is also massive problem in many countries, Unlike the safety and security of Singapore. Singapore has a lot to be proud off. It is an economic miracle with one of the highest standards of living in the world. The trade off is the work life balance and quality of life. Different people are suited to live in different countries depending on their lifestyle goals and aspirations. No one size fits all. I truly appreiciate Singapore all the more after I left.
@elsieyong703 Thanks for your offer but it would take a huge adjustment for me to move back to Singapore. I'm used to having a bit of space and a garden and being able to enjoy things like shooting and fishing. Plus my children enjoy their education here and it isn't too much of a pressure cooker. I do miss family and friends and Singaporean food though!
@@jwdd4073 I think u have revealed to yourself and others the intangible benefits of NZ that singapore can never reproduce. Unbeknown to u, healthcare here is no longer the standard of the past. There are people queueing up for more than 24hrs just to get a hospital bed. HDB has hit a record of 1.5M, and coe is 140k. The pressure cooker is much worse now, and the weather is shit. Singapore has more foreigners than locals and we don't even realise it cause the gov has been very opaque with everything especially its reserves Our income tax are low, but dun forget that CPF is a disguised tax so that the gov need not support us when we grow old. I assume that AU & NZ though high income tax, they do have welfare for their elderly & unemployed ..
@trentlim9964 It saddens me to hear that's the state of healthcare in Singapore. I think the global shortage of healthcare workers and an ageing population compound that. In NZ, it can take a week or 2 just to get to see a GP. However mass immigration and increasing cost of living pressures have been felt globally across most developed countries.. And yes, I do admit it can be a pressure cooker in Singapore. But there are also intangible benefits like not having to worry about burglars breaking into your home or business, or spending heaps on an alarm system, repeated flooding, earthquakes and cyclones, ineffectual government that is soft on crime and up to almost 40 percent of what you make being taken in tax.
Stressed Singaporeans pay a high price for their famous productivity and living standards, attracting rich foreigners. Interesting to see how sustainable this becomes as the cost of living skyrockets
let's see. I think at this current year, when i heard gst increased at the worst possible time. let's see what can the new PM do, esp when he's a minister of finance xD
The problem is LKY did not make Singaporeans "rich". Only the Goverment, political officeholders and top civil servants became rich. Singaporeans became "rich" with an unsustainable "property bubble".
Your just renting your house from your government 99 years lease equal no wealth for your 3rd generation the only rich is your government that you people love even Malaysia health care is totally free after 60 anything below 60 just pay 1rm to 5rm thank you for your sgd make us Malaysian retire so well

Correction to him 😮 pls The average leave for most employees in SG is 14 days & 21 days for executive employees its 7 days mostly for low wage earners & the waiting time for public housing is not 5 years its 3 years post covid
This video is woefully shallow in its analysis. Singapore is an economic miracle ...period...it becomes the third richest country in the world without land.... natural resources and human resources. If life is relaxed and easy and yet Singaporeans have achieved this success..what gives???? There's no such thing as a free lunch.... there must be a very high level of discipline good governance and determination to achieve this. The most important factor is the far sighted founding leader Lee Kuan Yew...his vision made Singapore what it is today. He puts the best people into government.... Singapore is a meritocratic society....the best and most capable rise to the top. In many other countries in the global south...the most connected or the most articulate politicians with the gift of the gab rise to to top. Even in many western developed countries today this is happening. He stamped out corruption...he irradicated drugs and maintained a crime free Singapore. He invested heavily in human capital and top up any shortfall with immigration. The Singapore dollar is very strong and this negates some of the effects of inflation. Taxes are low...10-15 percent on average..a far cry from the 40 percent we see in developed countries in Europe Australia..US UK . GST in the UK is 20%and Germany is 19% and Singapore's 9% is supposed to be outrageous??? Yes property and car prices are high..true..that's due to the shortage of land...as the video says... Singapore is smaller than NY City. But there are government housing that allow young couples to own homes... compare this to many western countries where youngsters are burdened with high taxes and student loans unable to buy homes and forever living in rented houses and borrow from credit cards to get by. Yes car prices are crazy but there's a very efficient bus and mass rapid transit system... Singaporeans have alternatives to get around. The flip side of lower car prices is to turn Singapore roads into a giant car park...with traffic jams galore. Singapore is expensive but look at the other successful countries such as places like Switzerland and Dubai they too are expensive..they don't try to compete with Portugal or Lebanon...as long as rising wages in Singapore can keep up with the cost of living it is ok for Singaporeans. We have hawker centres around the island offering affordable food..it's not that people do not have alternatives.
@@heidi-hu1tvu r talking about public transport like buses & trains being crowded only during morning & evenings peak periods ie b4 & after work, buses frequently is 10 to 15 mins & mass rapid trains ie MRT is 3 mins! Not peak periods plenty of seats 👍🏻
Why is it called a miracle just because Singapore caught up to the standards other countries had already achieved. All Singapore had to do is copy other countries progress.
Hey don't get defensive bro, they're pointing out some of the short falls, which are product of the greater benefits. As said by many, there's also pros and cons, just make sure the pros outweighs it.
GDP per capita for 2023 is approx USD88k or approx USD7,333 monthly. but the median income is a approx USD3,900 monthly. gdp per capita doesnt truly reflect what the folks are feeling on the ground.
Oh wow! This is our very first Super Thanks. We had to Google what this meant (shows how new we are to this TH-cam business). Thank you so much. It really means a lot to us that someone enjoyed our content enough to be willing to recognise our efforts. Now we are even more motivated to work on our videos. Cheers!
Thanks for raising this. We meant to say minimum vacation entitlement but noted the error. We’ve posted a correction in the pinned comments. Our apologies!
I lived in the US for 30 years before returning to Singapore. The first part of the video misses the "Dark Side." The chinese diaspora in NYC, LA or SF also place as much, if not more, pressure on their children to do well in school and get into Ivy League colleges and rising property prices is no different from, say, Silicon Valley or Orange County. It's like the Red Queen Hypothesis in evolutionary Biology. I'm more amazed so many foreigners still wish to move to Singapore despite the cons mentioned here. And I'd be more concerned about being prepared for the ageing population, how the political scene will change if and when a foreign-born person becomes Prime Minister maybe in a few years, etc.
So many foreigners ? Maybe foreigners from poorer third world countries like India, China, Philippines or billionaires who want to avoid capital gains tax. I do not see Ang Moh dying to migrate to Singapore in droves. In fact I noticed when I was working in MNCs, AngMoh will take the first flight out after their contract has expired.
@@kaldrogo7873 Do you notice how fast the local girls changed their surname after they married the Ang Moh. Too bad they cannot change the shape of the eyes. I really cannot stand these women !
To some, they can take stressful life and enjoy high salaries. Then, they like Sg. To others who can't take stress, they dislike Sg. I can't take stress. But all jobs are stressful.
Thank you for the comment. We actually think that it is easier for people to find the merits of Singapore given it’s small stature. In fact, most people would agree that Singapore is a well-governed country including the team at World Know More. And you would notice that in our other videos where we rave about different aspects of Singapore. Yet, and we’re sure you would agree, that no country is perfect.
Yes 👍🏻 Correction pls The average leave for most employees in SG is 14 days & 21 days for executive employees its 7 days mostly for low wage earners & the waiting time for public housing is not 5 years its 3 years post covid
@ Heidi why do u say public transport is “freaking crowded?” u r talking about public transport like buses & trains being crowded only during morning & evenings peak periods ie b4 & after work, buses frequently is 10 to 15 mins & mass rapid trains ie MRT is 3 mins! Not peak periods plenty of seats 👍🏻
Most of the contents are true but the video should deal with the "causes" that result in the presence of these "problems". For example, the high cost of owning private vehicles (via government control by the issuing of expensive and limited COE certificates) helps Singapore roads to be free of traffic jams and allow the operation of an efficient public transport system to move the people around quickly. The building of public housing on a "build to order" basis (you buy and then wait) prevent excessive public property speculation by flipping. More than 80 percent of Singapore citizens own their modern homes which is not a small achievement in this planet. The medical facilities available in Singapore for the aging population is also of highest world class standards and with payment and insurance schemes that ensure treatment available to citizens who needed them. The positive aspects of Singapore are therefore much more than the negatives aspects. That's why foreigners are happy to migrate here. Singaporeans should not fear these foreigners as long as the playing field is level. The new generations of Singaporeans should adopt the same true grit fighting spirit of the pioneers generations from the LKY era. Then we will be OK.
Thank you for the comment. We value constructive feedback like this and absolutely agree that Singapore has many more merits that makes it such an attractive city to live in. We'll be exploring some of the topics that you mentioned in greater detail in time to come, while some would have been covered in our other videos. Do also let us know which aspects of the video are inaccurate because research can only get us so far. Always good to hear from the ground as well. Thank you!
U're probably not working in a billion dollar MNC which deals in tech or finance. Foreigners there are parachuted in all the time independent of "skill". We sporeans are neutral and hire anyone and usually a diverse mix of nationalities . But once we hire a hiring manager/HR from India, sporeans & other foreigners suddenly "aren't qualified" but people with 1000th ranking degrees get hired over NUS NUH U can go to another company, but its all the same. Its not about how hardworking or talented u r. Its all about connection. Think about it... if LHL wasn't LKY's kid, would he had been the PM ? Think carefully Its the same in PAP and in real life...
@@trentlim9964 Actually what you said did happened with these people from that South Asian country trying to build up their gang of supporters wherever they go. That's why I said Singaporeans must not be meek but had to have true grit to fight these undesirables. There are legal avenues such as TAFEP (Tripartite Alliance for Fair & Progressive Employment Practices) for you to use to fight them back. Do not just accept these invaders attacks meekly. We pioneers did not build this nation without a struggle against similar types of problems in those early days.
1. We have 14 days minimum leaves not 7 days. 21 days for longer service with the company. 2. Flats cannot be built overnight but 90+ percentage of Singaporean own their own home. Singapore homes are expensive because Singapore IS rich. 3. High cost of cars and other certain goods is because the government is ‘killing 2 birds with 1 stone’ Think about it. For example less cars means less construction of roads and less traffic congestion. It also means more revenue for the government…if you can afford own the car. 4. Initial resentment of foreign talents is inevitable but most Singaporean has come to term that this, in the long run is essential for Singapore to stay competitive. Imagine in 2022, 23,100 new Singapore citizens are added to the population. Majority are talents from other countries! Ask yourself, why did they committed themselves to become Singapore citizens?
My friend, it is still 7 days of leave. With 1 day increment for every year of service. That said, MNCs usually just provide 21 days from the start. Also totally agree with migration policy, from the start we're a multi cultural state, so we're no stranger to that. Immigration is a necessity, these talents just come and settle in without needing to invest 20+ years in an individual. That's brilliant! Unlike elsewhere across the world, we're not xenophobic.
The Singaporean miracle: Separating the meaning of Singapore and Singaporean. The nation is basically a playground for rich Chinese and white nationals. Well done LKY and PAP. You fooled an entire nation for 50 odd years with the promise of a prosperity and wealth. Conveniently left out the fact that prosperity and wealth is not for its citizens
Mr. Talker of this video, why not you personally stay in Singapore with the local for a couple of years to really experience the real life of Singaporean instead of talking what you know about Singapore in which every misinformed people already known. If you want to share "an Apple" do not use a Pear disguised as Apple to share. Singaporean is widely travel and some even live overseas for several years. Most came to realizes why Singapore has to be like that and even come to appreciate this tiny island more than ever!
Singaporeans are not widely travelled to the UK, US, Japan nor nordic countries. They can`t afford to stay there. 3 weeks in Tokyo? or 2 weeks in Denmark? 😂
lol i don't. not in this century. in the 80s i'd agree though. so dun make generalized statements when most arent true. have met majority of sgreans abroad, they're with me, glad they're out of sg before its too late. gd luck in sg tho lol, let's see how the new set of useless highly paid ministers wipe you before u pass on.
All countries have good and bad side. No country is perfect. Singapore is rich, but there are still have poor people in the country. Some people are homeless and starving.
Correction: the homeless are mostly people who made stupid mistakes in the past like addicted to drugs, gambling, etc & were kicked out or divorced from their spouces & are now facing the consequences. As for starving: Nobody is starving in Singapore because the lower or no income people can apply for financial aid & rental flat & these people receive mthly income & grocery.

Not so much the west but those poorer nearby countries are envious of Singapore’s success and prosperity, so much so that they will resort to making these unsavoury videos about Singapore. Saying bad things about Singapore may help to cover up their own insecurity and inadequacy….
Click bait headlines.... all that u mentioned is known issues in Spore and much debated. As in life its all about pros and cons for everything i.e. as we term in economics "opportunity costs" that is what u gain and the alternate is what u lose in return. I am not sure if this is intentional, but u failed to mentioned that for a small island nation like Spore without any natural resources and hinterland market to drive its economy, Spore is highly dependent on the world market and the ability to leverage this and add value to any business systems, transactions, activity has helped Spore achieve this growth and prosperity for its people. The whole world does not stop for one country or one nation, and this is one marathon that Spore and Sporeons has to engage and keep going otherwise once the edge is lost it will be gone forever and there the little red dot island will be broken shell and a faded memory. Countries around the world, our neighbors are not sitting idly-by and once they catchup and up their game what Spore has achieved in our competitiveness, productivity, efficiency will be lost than Spore will be truly finished as a nation and a country. Anyway with the passing of our founding father LKY, and now his son is going to pass on the torch to a new generation of leaders the Spore story continues and with the current geopolitical tensions in the world and around the South China Sea, Spore needs to navigate carefully in these new unknown waters and over 70% vote a a President whose track record within Spore and world wide is immaculate speaks wonders of the maturity and intelligence of the Sporeon people. U compare this to the leaders now in both the US and Europe, especially in Germany thankfully we do not have such useless and clueless leaders in our country.
I live in Singapore for the past 6 decades, thankfully there are no😅 cracks as you have mentioned. Being the ever robust and pragmatic Singaporeans, we will roll with the punches and always work towards the best outcomes for our society and our country.🇸🇬

@@thomasranjit7781Yes, we do envy people who can afford to own big houses in other countries. Although not every S'porean can afford to live in big houses, we are lucky that safety can make up for it. Living in big houses does not necessarily mean happiness too. S'pore does have condo and landed houses that are freehold, there are also 999 year leasehold private properties, although not many. Many young S'poreans will get their hdb flats when they get married and later upgrade to condo or even landed properties.
People in Uk will be envious when you only need to wait for 5 years to buy a house. Here you may never be able to afford to buy one and may spend decades on the waiting list for social housing.
dunno, it's actually insane when i look at the prices of the low lvl floors of a hdb unit, it's actually insane to a low-income earner / new grad. i'm looking the new set of leaders that will possibly fail in the coming 10 years
It is only fair to view Singapore on what it was pre-65 to what she is today. No nation can ever be Shangri-La without sacrifices. LKY did a historical job but it seems the current leadership has become a little too self-centered; forgetting sacrifices have to be part of nation building if that society wants to survive long term. Hence, it is difficult for many, especially those with Western education and beliefs to understand what China is trying to do!
Money is good but...work hours are definitely not 45 hours a week in Singapore. It`s common to work 10 hours a day. You will bring work home and you will be working on the weekends some hours. Singapore covers up shadow work, so the number doesn`t look bad. There is a lot of after hours work where you have no choice but to bring the company laptop home to complete work. The population is not growing. It is via immigration because Singaporeans are avoiding children and marriage due to the non-existence of work-life balance. Also, look no further than its prime minister whose own family is broken. It reflects that the value system doesn`t work anymore.
You need to recognise that Singapore is honestly not structurally and politically conducive for families trying to have more children. The baby bonus and Childcare leaves per child are a bad joke. Trying pushing a stroller with 3 young kids in toll to a family day outing on a weekend, using the much boasted about “efficient” public transport MRT to Orchard station. You’ll see a LONG queue of parents with strollers outside a SINGLE elevator just to get to level 1 for check out…
I went to Singapore recently to explore a job opportunity. Economic miracle for sure but it felt like a dystopian capitalist North Korea from the future. I dont care what kind of money theyre offering its not worth jumping on the Singaporean hampster wheel

High GDP per capita, but extremely high prices for everything. A lowly Toyota Camry costs nearly $300,000, and a basic private condo in an outlying area costs $2 million. A kilo of hamburger (minced beef) costs $30. So high GDP per capita is just mirage. The average Singaporean lives a hard-scrabble life. Besides, they have no freedom of speech, or freedom of anything, with PAP watching them like the hawk. Their kids have no time for their parents, having to spend 6 hours a day at school and 6 more hours in tuition centres. This is not a rich country. It is a very poory country, both materially and spiritually.

The amount of TH-camr going around giving ‘expert’ narration how bad and problematic Singapore is astounding. For anyone who had visited and lived in Singapore can relate to how good things are in Singapore compared to UK, US, France etc whether it is homelessness, crime, quality of life….The mistake these TH-camrs keep talking about is how expensive living in Singapore is. LKY never passed riches to Singaporean; his philosophy is work hard for your country and yourself. I would never pass Singapore for any other country. Another melodramatic video. Singapore is what Singapore is! It is still a fairy tale where every one works hard and scale heights based purely on merit and hard work. So just wallow in the success and don’t find faults.
This video highlights only the negative points without giving the underlying reason of why it happen, both on a reasoning side and data point of view. For example, Singapore property prices are the highest in the world. This is correct only when you talk about private property. Not public property. In Singapore 80% of the population lives in public property. So you are centering on the 20% of the population. So the statement is not really true in the total Singaporean sense. If you want to do a good video, show both the negative and the positive positive points in one video and so more economic research why it came to happen. This is for your improvement.

@@fadzilhashim.0910 Not true, it's comparable to cities like New York if you compared it city to city and not city to rural town. It's due to rental prices in urban areas, not currency.
Singapore import 40,000 new potential citizens per year . No problem in growth as long as sg government can squeeze more spaces out of thin air . There is a undeclared agenda of having a 10 million population which everyone knows without open discussion. Hence you need to revise you blogging storyline.
The average Singaporeans have more than two jobs to make ends meet. When you visit them from overseas, you cannot catch up with them, as they are too busy making living while the richer overseas visitors enjoy relaxing there.

Singapore adopted a dictatorship autocracy model with authoritarian majority rule , to push through policy that could not be questioned , without consultation or consensus….nothing wrong here, because this is the preferred method of governance for the Han Chinese people , but it’s never sustainable … even in agriculture , monoculture never works in the long term . Singapore is now heavily mortgaged to investments and funds from Communist China , and now Communist China is a sinking stock …this is what happens in all autocracies
Hi there, thank you for the comment. Our view is that the merits of Singapore outweighs the not-so-positive aspects of Singapore, which makes it an attractive country to live in. In fact, we find that Singapore is well-governed and is far ahead of many other first world cities. And we have done a few videos raving about Singapore’s merits. Nonetheless, this video serves to explore the “other side of things” and naturally it may not sit well with some. How a viewer perceives this video would be based on his/her own experience and some can relate to the points covered while others would feel indignant. Interestingly, we conduct a few polls on the experience of people living in Singapore, you can check out the results in our community post section. Cheers!

@henryarchy 5424 Yes,Singapore 🇸🇬 is a " hot spot properous" Nation. It's not bad for a tiny chillie 🌶 🌶 padi island to reach the World 🌍 standard glory, but just think about under whose expense 🤔🤔?? It's not wrong to bring in foreign "INVESTORS" in support of Singapore's economy growth but then again...by permitting those investors,in particularly with those PRC floading into Singapore 🇸🇬, to buy the entire high-end Towers and private properties?? With the shadow of LOCUSTS in the midst of our lives is just like inwaiting for the volcano 🌋 to explode. Right now its a tip of the iceberg!! First and foremost, the monthly/annual income of our high flier members in the government. It's nothing wrong or shameful to expose the truth ,to shame the devil
A totally one sided view of Singapore without understanding the country and the strategic positioning and advantage Singapore presents to the world 1. High stress experienced by the work force. As a thriving city and a financial centre you have to compare Singapore to the likes of other cities and financial centres like London and New York . I have seen people in these cities having more work stress than the average Singaporean 2. High taxes like GST increases and income tax . What is the Federal and State tax in the US or the income tax in US and UK . There is no world wide income tax for Singapore unlike these countries so Singaporeans can invest or work abroad without having to pay to taxes to their home country. The income tax rate is much lower than say US, Australia or UK. 3. Young Singaporeans are marrying later . Actually many young couples are marrying to secure their HDB public housing so it is not true that they are differing their marriages till they are older because they want to live on their own as soon as they can afford it. 4. Declining birth rates. Every developing and developed country is facing this problem not just Singapore even China. But unlike China Singapore has an open and transparent immigration policy to attract the relevant skills and talent and will have to go on doing so because new jobs requires new skills . So the shortfall in population and talent can be compensated with immigration of professionals to the country. Thee high expat cost of living will ensure that only the talented and well qualified can afford to live in Singapore 5. High cost of living in Singapore. If you have lived in Singapore you would have realised that the cost of living are mitigated by her strong currency, affordable public housing for citizens, and affordable food in hawker centres . So while there is inflation like any other country after Covid , Singaporeans will have adjust to these new levels and government make sure that the currency remains strong since almost every item needed for daily living is imported. Plus there is always Johor if you need lower prices for petrol or daily necessities. 6. Most expensive cars in the world. But the MRT and public transport is so convenient that you do not really need a car for your daily commute. 7. Aging population. The other side of an aging population is the reflection of a sound , efficient and quality health care system. The government ensures that the aging population has all the necessary healthcare needed at a subsidized rate. The government do not believe in "exporting grandma" to cheaper neighbouring countries and has a sound policy to provide the necessary housing for the elderly. This policy is to ensure that the elderly lives in their own home surrounded by their family rather than in an institution. 8. Increase in imported white collar crime. Rest assured the government is constantly keeping a close watch and amending her laws and institutions to cope with the increase in white collar crime. Every foreigner knows that Singapore's reputation as a "fine " city with no nonsense when it comes to prosecuting criminals and so foreigner criminals will likely stay away .
that all said, on relative terms i'm happy with what my country is offering in exchange for an almost perfectly safe city state. and no i won't let my kids be a citizen of sg. i'll let my own relative choice of freedom to protect my kids in my new country. gd luck in sg though, i'm not confident in the new set of sg leaders, to face the mounting challenges ahead for them and for you citizens
@@vickalessa thanks for the candid response. My intention of posting about the inaccuracies mentioned on this TH-cam is not to attract more foreigners to take up citizenship in Singapore. I think Singapore has sufficient citizens and PRs even though the birth rate is dropping. The government needs to make Singapore an attractive place to live and work so that more talented professionals will come and live in Singapore. The 60% tax on foreigners buying properties is sufficient inducement to encourage foreigners to become PR and citizenship. I think we have enough citizens and do not need more to inflate our property prices. Many Singaporeans especially those who have never live and work abroad often take Singapore's achievement for granted. For a country without natural resources Singapore has done extremely well competing with advanced and richer western nations.
@@MichaelLim0907 I'm very glad we have citizens like you to think like that! I often hear too many pap yes men policing all things good in Singapore, that's really annoying! @@hdlim8753Even with the Kra Canal bulit, it will not be the end of Singapore. Why my analysis say that savings of Shipping cost of sailing through the Malacca Strait are marginal. It's the connectivity of Shipping routes & efficiencies of handling transhipment. Singapore port is a hub business. Yes it will take away some business but not the majority maybe 20% of Shipping traffic. However, for majority of the shipping companies. Using Singapore as a transhipment port is more cost effective than using Kra canal if it were ever bulit. My logic & rationale tell me that China view that the Kra Canal is still a choke point for China Strategically supply line, thus better to spread the risk via inland Silk route via BRI.
This has been talked about for more than a century. The Thais are not that stupid - if they cut the canal, they will lose their Muslim south to Malaysia. At best, they will have a land bridge instead of a canal. Dividing the isthmus with a canal is tantamount to kissing its territory south of the canal.
Unlikely EU BRICS is politically and fundamentally different. The founding countries have very little in common and are politically at oods with each other. China , Russia and India have conflicts dating back many years . Russia took land away from China after WWII. India and China have border disputes . So I doubt BRICS have the political will to succeed. The enemy of my enemy is my friend is hardly any basis of any alliance

@trentlim9964
It saddens me to hear that's the state of healthcare in Singapore.

How are the buses efficient when they`re so freaking crowded?

The chinese diaspora in NYC, LA or SF also place as much, if not more, pressure on their children to do well in school and get into Ivy League colleges and rising property prices is no different from, say, Silicon Valley or Orange County.

Imagine in 2022,
23,100 new Singapore citizens are added to the population.

@@algung2522 I met a young lady from Singapore on a flight and she accepted that people in Singapore are so stressed that they rarely smile. Can a normal Singapore citizens afford a half a acker of land and house, in other countries that are many people who live in such houses, a flat in Singapore is a lease for 99 years, so basically when you buy a house in Singapore still you are living like a renter.
@thomasranjit7781 I am a S'porean and I am happy and proud to be a S'porean.
It used to be 3.5 years for some public housing projects before the pandemic
dunno, it's actually insane when i look at the prices of the low lvl floors of a hdb unit, it's actually insane to a low-income earner / new grad. i'm looking the new set of leaders that will possibly fail in the coming 10 years
It is only fair to view Singapore on what it was pre-65 to what she is today.

A totally one sided view of Singapore without understanding the country and the strategic positioning and advantage Singapore presents to the world
1. High stress experienced by the work force. As a thriving city and a financial centre you have to compare Singapore to the likes of other cities and financial centres like London and New York . I have seen people in these cities having more work stress than the average Singaporean
Thee high expat cost of living will ensure that only the talented and well qualified can afford to live in Singapore
I often hear too many pap yes men policing all things good in Singapore, that's really annoying!

the chinese will finance to build 3 canals:
1 for commercial shipping, 1 for china war ship, the 3rd for ccp submarine.
Hahaha
