Hi Ken! Visit the parks in Singapore like Rifle Range or cycle the Rail corridor. Hop on a boat to Pulau Ubin or the Southern Islands. Keep going Ken ! 😊
You should check out Gardens by the Bay and Bird Paradise (Newly opened), There is a free light show that happens every night at Gardens by the bay which you will certainly enjoy. Also check out Spectra infront of Marina bay Sands.
Good
Very nice ❤
I am Singaporean. 你好!
Ken, what a polite and respectful taxi driver. A credit to his profession. 👍🏻👍🏻
No gossiping? Wow a rarity
Singapore is truly distinct from the rest of Southeast Asia, and you can really sense it. The country can definitely feel like such a breath of fresh air after being around the hectic and untidiness of the region. It is clean, efficient, orderly and safe.
But now said to have haze, no more fresh air
@@joenono4541lololol fr
@@joenono4541
Usually smoke blowing in from Indonesia.
A different vibe, but might be boring to some people.
No fresh air at all ! Plenty of humidity and pollution !
Hope you had a great trip with us!
Glad that you managed to explore our city and tried our local food too!😍
I enjoyed Singapore a lot 🤙
Wow you replied!
How does bro have contact with an entire country?
@@theonesingleALOL 😂
@@KenAbroad So please do come again 👍
"Expensive country but a fair country. " I couldn't agree more. It's not the best country in the world but the rules are enforced. The city works like clock work. It's clean and safe.
What are your fav countries? (I'd like to look them up :)
I have watched a lot of foreigners’ videos about Singapore and yours is really good. There’s something about your video that allow me to view your video from e beginning to e end. 34mins just gone by with a breeze. Really good. That’s a skill.❤
It is 3 am in central Florida and we have a category 1 hurricane blowing outside but I'm sitting here watching Ken eat a delicious pork meal in Singapore haha. More exciting than the storm! I'm blown away (not by the storm) by the quiet and the cleanliness of the city, so totally unexpected.
Greetings to Florida 🙏😅
Singapore is not expensive for tourists. It's actually pretty cheap for the things tourist spend money on. It's crazy expensive if you're a resident and if you want a western lifestyle. If you are a citizen, live in public housing, eat hawker food, and not own a car, it's not too bad. In other words, if you want to live a humble, simple Asian lifestyle, you can do it there as a citizen.
I disagree, the hotel is really expensive.
It is very expensive country. The same thing can be get in neighbor countries for 3-4times cheaper
@@fv7048I agree. Restaurant and street food is higher quality in ingredients and taste in Malaysia and Thailand and only a fraction of the cost, just like you said. That's why Singaporeans love to travel there to eat and play! I'm comparing Singapore to cities like London and New York in terms of cost to tourists. For residents who want a quality lifestyle, Singapore can be much more expensive than those cities.
You don’t know what you are saying. It shows you are not a well travelled person….
I disagree. For us Americans it's still expensive for us. Hawker food is cheap tho.
Singapore is on my bucket list, for sure ! You make good videos.....very enjoyable.
Thank you 😊
We welcome you anytime!
It’s very refreshing to get in a Singapore taxi and see the meter turned on immediately as opposed to K.L. Where it’s inevitably “meter no work” for all Europeans
Personal experience. Take note that you can use credit card with tap function to use Singapore's public transport. However, your bank might blacklist the train station company after you use it too many times.(the bank might have detected it as some sort of fraud or some other people using your card for having many small transactions overseas) You might need to contact your bank to whitelist them if that happens.
Not to mention or the extra charges. One would have to be a fool to use a credit card unless your in your own country
thanks for visiting my home! its an expensive city for sure but its very efficient and convenient
Wow, Ken, that is a lot of ground you covered.. lotsa of walking...and yes, singapore...lotsa of green space to walk about. ....yup, food courts are still pretty affordable... good to see that you are taking time to explore Singapore more this time round. Stay safe and happy exploring..cheers mate
Great video, Ken. Singapore is a great place. It has so much to offer despite its small size.
I went to Singapore 3 times and loved it every time but yes it is more expensive compared to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines
It is due to strong currency compared to other countries
@@JH-kv8mt Yes I'm fully aware
Ken, the fresh juice machine is cutting the orange in half and than each half is pressed. No need to peal them. Enjoy!!
Lol, I thought the same thing, no reason to peel them. Glad you commented ❤
When you're travelling around Asia, you may find that not everyone is an English speaker, or only speaks basic English. So when speaking to locals, try to make it intuitive. For example, when you ask "what is your No. 1?", it was clear that the couple misunderstood and thought you wanted item no. 1 on their menu. In their day to day, they probably don't speak English a lot, and receive even fewer questions in English. And their answer to your question, when they do understabd, is likely "everything is good".
Singapore foods are Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Hokkien Mee, Char Keow Teow, Chilli Crab, Satay, Nasi Padang, Kaya Toast etc. Go to Lau Pa Sat, Glutton Square, Newton Circus, Maxwell, Satay Club and any other hawker centres.
You are so right about the safety. Love it that you are showing solo travel.
Having been a subscriber and fan of your channel that brings us to many interesting places in many countries in south east Asia, I am glad you finally come to my country Singapore. Glad you are enjoying your stay here and discovering the uniqueness of our multi cultural country. Looking forward to more coverage and following you along on your journey. Stay safe, stay positive.
Thank you🙏
Singapore is a very beautiful and wonderful country. It has beautiful places
I live in Singapore 🇸🇬 n is so proud to see about my country. Thks
The taxi driver represented Singapore very well. Very good explanations for the general and the specific F1 situations.
Also I had to contain the urge to roll my eyes when he said he prefer zig over grab (cuz the blue cab that he is in is the one who owns the Zig app) LoLx but he’s not wrong, with both apps opened, you can compare prices for peak periods and choose the best price for yourself. 😊
Thank you for the constant content, I really enjoyed them a lot!
Happy to hear that🙏
Great video! Love seeing Singapore and hearing your perspective! I look forward to the next Singapore video!
Thanks for watching 🙏
Every car has a camera, every home owner has at least a camera, we love our cameras lol. While we don't encourage leaving things unattended, there are plenty who do that knowing that it's impossible to take anything without being seen. Police stations are 10-15mins away. So if anyone tries to be funny, they're stuck on an island with nowhere to go. So there's that lol. Also, it's possible to survive without cash in Singapore, but there are still cash only vendors - these usually offer more affordable options.
Singaporean here, no cctv in or outside my door
Singapore is a very interesting city, it would be great to see and try new things. interesting blog content.
I like Spore for its cleanliness. Have a joyful time there n explore as much as u can, Ken. 🙏
Thanks you 🙏
Try the kaya toast at the morning, laksa, chili crab, roti prata.....so many delicious food there, enjoy!
Welcome to Singapore Ken....do explore our heartlands for more cheaper options of food especially and to really see how locals live.
My friend, can I ask a question...do security and cleaning companies recruit or hire workers outside Singapore?like hiring from Africa countries...thank you
Very good video, giving out basic info about city for the new visitors planning to visit... 👍
Even the bus is super convenient. I love walking through parliament road.
Haven't been to Singapore since the late 1980's when I was a kid. So many changes.
LOL. Of course , thats like 40 years of difference.
Ken I’m glad you’re enjoying your 1st meal and you’re making my mouth water 💦 love your video which is very interesting and you speak with clarity.
I love the way you find your way around in real time, the video is very insightful. 👍🏻
Singapore is one of the beautiful countries or regions that are recommended to live in because it has many advantages❤
There is a tourist pass bus, MRT, LRT one, two and three day passes for tourist as it's cheaper than per ride with visa card. Also an EZ-Link card if you want to load for more days.
Owning a car in Singapore is very expensive.
Welcome to Singapore.
I suggest you to visit more hawker centers and try local food like chicken rice, duck rice, hokkien prawn noodles, fried kwayteow, carrot cake etc.
Very nice movie Ken, I love Singapore too, I used to go there from Thailand to renew my visa. Looking forward to your next Movie Ken. Viele Grüsse aus Phuket, Till
Nice Ken, Singapore is awesome 😍
WOW. Singapore is Aweosme....!!! What a safe country...!!! One of my favorite countries in the world..!!!
Love the video. Singapore is really beautiful 🌺
Welcome to Singapore Ken! I’ve been following your Malaysia videos for some time now. Great to see you covering this little island! (I’m a Malaysian living in SG!)
Welcome to Singapore. The public transport really very good 👍. I am from Malacca but working here.
Some less touristy, natural and free places to consider if you are interested would be Clementi Forest, Coney Island forest hike, Rifle Range, Pulau Ubin, Rail Corridor 😊
The reason why the OJ costs different amount is because you bought from a place near touristy spots, stuff there always costs a lot more
most places in singapore have the $2 version
most hawker centers have mostly chinese food, due to the population here being over 70% chinese
Welcome 🤗 Welcome 🤗 to my country Singapore 🇸🇬🥳 Glad you like here😉
Thank you 😊
i once heard that in singapore you can literally leave your laptop/ belongings in a starbucks, coffee shop, unattended to for a few hours... and it wont be gone by the time you get back
also only harker centre food is cheap, if u go into a proper restaurant, its like 15-20sgd per person
im Singaporean, all I can say is low crime doesn't mean no crime hahah
@@BingDrums ik that much, im singaporean too. Just mentioning what i heard others say, havent test so idk if true
That would be a really silly thing to do
Ken, you may want to visit the heartlands like bukit merah, marine parade, woodlands, tampines and see the loca vibes.
Touristy areas like sentosa, gardens by the bay etc
Museums, educational tours like newater, marina barrage
certain malls have their niche specialization like figurines etc
Do check out Little India, Geylang Serai, etc
Changi airport is cool too
Check out the parks too
Bugi Street used to be Red Light Street. All the sailors used to visit the bars here 50-60 years ago. Greetings aus Norwegen 😊
I love it as always. It's great and interesting. Thank you Ken.👍👍👍😍😍😍
Singapore works because the law favours the law abiding and not the criminals. Simple as that.
All that talk about human rights is in relation to the rights of criminals, not everyday law-abiding citizens. Laws that protect the people, not the bad guys. Love it. ❤
Hi Ken! Welcome to Singapore. Basically Singapore is a expensive and very systematic country. As well a law abiding citizen. Quite a easy country to visit. Do visit the heartlands in different part of Singapore for more hidden jems.
1. "Almost no crime here" - as the local police always remind everyone - low crime doesn't mean no crime! Petty crimes still exist and visitors need to be on the alert :)
2. Orange juicer - eh, no peeling is done. The orange is torn into nearly half and pressed for juice. It's super refrshing in a hot day, tbh. It's usually $2.
3. Braised pork rice - it's not really local, but more like a shared food with other chinese populations like China (Beijing) and Taiwan.
4. Singapore's not so expensive if you eat at the local hawker centres and take the public transport.
my father retired to Sri Lanka. he went on holiday to Singapore. my father was disabled in poor health and had only one leg. he was nearly robbed of his watch. this was in 1990. ken's video shows a different Singapore. looks safe.
Welcome to Singapore 🇸🇬 Ken and hope you enjoy your stay here..
Singapore is safe and clean and the people are respectful, friendly and kind. Go to the Famous Zoo and Bird Park and Sentosa Island
Called Bird Paradise now
@@VanDiemansSoulseems like the fact that incest is brought up as a problem in parliament suggests that the country takes it seriously. We probably have no idea how much of a problem it is elsewhere. Sex crimes are prosecuted vigorously in Singapore, much more so than most other countries.
@@VanDiemansSoulit’s a problem everywhere, I don’t think especially in Singapore. Sex crime wise is general, Singapore is much better than other countries.
Wow the beautiful country
Welcome to SIngapore 🇸🇬 The good weather welcomes you too! 😊
Thank you 😊
A beautiful episode of Singapore tour. Thanks for sharing your first impression of this super clean and modern country. Yeah, it's Asia most expensive country. I'm amazed with that orange juice vending machine...very convenient and clean. Great outro of the vlog by showing that famous Merlion Park and Marina Sand Bay Hotel. As always, fascinating content and this's a great watch. Thanks again, Ken. Cheers !
Correction : Marina Bay Sands Hotel ✌️😃
I guess making corrections with a comment instead of editing the original one adds to the comment count on the video hehe@@chaw294
@@oxoelfoxo Sorry, l have no idea about that. What l know and have had experienced was l would lose that ❤️ given if l were to edit my original comment. Thanks ✌️
yeah, you would lose the heart if you edit. another reason to correct with another comment instead :-)@@chaw294
Thanks for coming to SG(Singapura) Hope u will come again and visit other parts of SG eg. SG local housing estate where many other good hawkers food that u can try.
Yes...we don't have Street Food any more because SG move forward to Hawker Food. But, SG do have 'Pasar Malam' food events now and then in our residential areas that more to Street Food concept.
Very straightforward person u are ken. Such a genuine human. High five from India👋👋👋
Greetings to India ✌️
I highly recommend coming to Shenzhen so you can have authentic pig's leg rice from the Chaoshan region of Guangdong. The pork rice you get at the Hawker Center is supposed to be the food that was brought over by the overseas Chinese from Guangdong at that time and fused with the local food.
Singapore has one of the top GDP PPs in the world, but prices are very cheap!
Thank you for your video!
❤ from N California countryside❤
Honestly, it's not that expensive as I thought it would be when I went there, the only thing being more expensive were the hotels and taxi fare, but I mostly used the mrt which was amazing, you could go anywhere with the mrt, other stuff like food, attractions, etc.. were very reasonably priced and not expensive at all, they were comparable to other asian countries, so it really isn't that expensive unless you either live there and pay rent or go to luxury restaurants and 5-star hotels only.
i am happy that you love our country :)
you are real champ brother. keep it up 🔥
Thanks ken. Enjoyed this vedeo so much.
Surprised with the police robot.
Previously i heard the city is clean and this is well maintained and clean city.
Waiting for more.
Thanks for watching 😊
Great video, thanks:) I nearly booked for Singapore on the upcoming Asia trip! But everyone I know who has been has told me its so expensive! But a great place:)
Comparing south east asian cities, we are most expensive because of our exchange rate and developed status. We are however not the most expensive city to live as an average joe and comparable to other more developed asian and western countries. We have a choice to live a high end or ordinary life. Because of our limited land housing and cars are expensive.
Hi welcome to Singapore! The reason why the jooz was $1 more expensive was because the machine was placed in the city area!
I think he missed the change collection outlet below.
Singapore is famous for its cleanliness, very heavy fines if you are caught littering. That is good, makes people do the right thing. Enjoy your Singapore experience. I saw a video with Gi Gi and Michael in Singapore and they found it very expensive.
nobody ever gets caught for littering. its just a deterrent.
respect singapura very systematic and organize
your very first meal is as local as it gets; that's what many locals have on a daily basis. kudos!
Hi Ken, welcome to Singapore and enjoy your stay. Food you must try, famous Hainanese Chicken Rice at Maxwell Food Court. Try the tea Tarik, try famous murtabak at Arab Street , roti prata, and a lot more.
Enjoy!!
It's great to see these unique things in Singapore.
Mermaid and Lion or Merlion legend!! Did you see the building built durian fruit shape?? Was there in 2005 when my first cousins invited me!! How time flies, eyyy??!! Don't forget to go to Sentosa, suggestion only Ken Abroad!! Watching from Toronto, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 Safe travels!!
Singapore is an almost perfect country, especially transportation and cleanliness.
Perfect for the rich because money is not the problem.
Some parts like Geylang, Little India n China Town plus Arab Street not so clean
The closest train station to Geylang is Aljunied, I think.
@@syarifahnajwa5491still clean compared to other countries, even New York City is damn dirty
Fake lah , so many crimes everyday here
👍👏 I am from singapore. Welcome n enjoy n have fun.
Thumbs up for going to a hawker that is not touristy. And yes, you love the braised pork rice!
Welcome to Singapore 🇸🇬 🎉
Thanks for sharing Singapore! I m from Singapore and it is true that Singapore has the lowest crime rate in SEA because of our stringent laws which is good. We also had moral education from young to keep our environment clean and green. At most hawker centres, we have to clear and put back our tray and used bowls/ cutleries if not there will be a fine. So yes, it is pretty decent to travel around Singapore.
Good job ken❤
Nice video!! Can’t wait to go back to Singapore!
Nice country, thanks for your video Ken❤
This is your second time in Singapore right Ken? I remember an old vid on your channel where you had a travel tip how go get on top of the Marina Bay hotel for free haha😊👍🏻
Welcome to my country Ken! Enjoy your stay .
Thank you 😊
Do buy drinks from 711 because it's very expensive but at a supermarket. If you wish to eat low-price street food, don't go to Newton hawker centre or the one outside Botanic Gardens as those are for tourists. Hop on the train to explore a housing estate such as Toa Payoh or Clementi to mingle with the locals. There're hawker centres and coffee shops that cater low-price food and beverages. P.S. You can have fresh fruit juice for $2.00 and a breakfast set (toast + eggs + coffee) which costs $4.00 to $5.00.
1:00 There are ticketing machines at every station. I think he just referred you to the office as you may not be familiar with using it.
10:30 The price of items changes depending on where you are in Singapore. A plate of S$3 food will cost $10 elsewhere when its exactly the same thing.
Welcome: "Selamat Datang", to you in "South East Asia" to my hometown of Singapore 🇸🇬.
How are you: "Apa Khabar". Hope 🙏 you are doing fine.
Thank You: "Terima Kasih", for visiting my country and hope 🙏 you enjoyed your stay here. My race is Malay and that's why i greet you in my mother tongue language.
Singapore 🇸🇬 also known variously as the “Lion City” or “Garden City,” the latter for its many parks and tree-lined streets-has also been called “instant Asia” because it offers the tourist an expeditious glimpse into the cultures brought to it by immigrants from all parts of Asia.
is not your typical South East Asia city that you have visited i.e. Thailand🇹🇭, Philippines 🇵🇭, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Vietnam 🇻🇳, Cambodia 🇰🇭, Myanmar 🇲🇲 or even Brunei 🇧🇳. A combination of Modern Architecture surrounded by old British 🇬🇧 colonial buildings with lush foliage on the skyscrapers. Very westernized and contemporary yet still preserve the old rustic looks of old village settings. The price of accommodation and food tends to be on the pricey side if you dine on a mostly touristy flank. Go to hawker centers for cheaper options in Singapore 🇸🇬. There is plenty of it here and to approximate is beyond comparison.
Everyone seems so polite 😮
i dont know if you saw but the lady at the beijing food place looked at you as you were walking away and her look was so funny 😄
Dear Ken, the "kaya ball", "durian ball" and so on Malaysia also have such food. The other one is "Seremban Siow Pau" (the man applies a layer of egg before baking) the most delicious you can get is in SEREMBAN, Malaysia.
Thanks for this video👍🏼
in Indonesia or wherever, I am very happy to see your channel, success is always for you
Great this blog, keep doing more please, I want to see Singapore
Actually you could use the MRT or bus to get to the Merlion. Could save some money
lovely, we enjoyed our 5 day visited there and very impressed with their mrt service, easy to use. :-), ive seen one of that Robot serving inside Max Restaurants at the Orchard Place, and loads of pinoy eating there too. :-) we walked inside that Clarke Quay too, i looked for jewelries :-) and visited the gold shop opposite the mall , lovely area, we stayed in G Hotel moddleroad near Rochter and Bencoolen stations :-). Enjoy your Stay. try the durian ice cream there by the marina bay sands :-)
Enjoy your holidays in Singapura, anda pasti alami kejutan di Indonesia nanti! Semoga dipermudahkan urusan Boss ku
HI KEN, nice having you in Singapore. What I noticed is you have a funny pronunciation of Singapore and Merlion. You said merlion, it should be mer and lion, yes mer for mermaid and lion for the king of the jungle lion. Notice that its half mermaid half lion, way to go, man. Thank you and hope you have enjoyed your stay in Singapore
Let’s go to Singapur 🇸🇬 it looks so beautiful
As a Singaporean, it is an amazing country, but the laws are a bit too strict and the cost of living is very high. But other than that it is amazing
Although there are a lot of laws, most are not enforced. I am quite disappointed at the slack attitudes of the authorities in fact.
The "too strict" is debatable. The country is really safe, no? That's the result of more conservative rules.
