SO here's my review of the Sigma Samus Aran from the famous Nintendo video game series Metroid. This design is from the most recent Metroid game, Metroid: Other M. It's a great design, but not much different than what we've seen in Metroid Prime.
Metroid Prime is the only Metroid game I've ever completed, and I'm glad I did. Fantastic game, everyone should play it. I've played Super Metroid and loved it, but I never completed it. Another great game with Samus in it is the Super Smash Brothers series...but everyone knows that.
20 points for anyone who knows the connection between Ridley Scott's Alien and Metroid. Don't be afraid to show off! (You could use those 20 points to buy a house or something I dunno) - บันเทิง

Ridley is Samus's main ennemy in the Metroid games and his name was a tribute to Ridley Scott, the realisator of the Alien movie. Gimme my points :3

+Irohen it is and berserk is a great anime, but has some, well madoka issues, but yet again you don't expect berserk to be a nice, friendly anime. But to honest I just watched this review because I love metroid to death. (well any game other than other m or mp2)
To explain the morph ball, when inside the suit, Samus' body is turned into energy, and she needs to concentrate in order to make these energies "drive" the suit. This explains why she's smaller out of the suit, how she can turn into the morph ball and why she dies when it breaks open (the stress on her heart and brain of her body being so quickly and violently turned back from energy combined with the immense amount of concentration used to uphold that form causes seizures, cardiac arrest etc etc)
I think they should've included a swapable head. One where you can replace Samus' helmet for her actual head. Blonde ponytail and everything.
You can probably replace Samus' helmet with zero suit samus' head

Metroid has a lot of references towards the Alien franchise. Best example is that Ridley, Samus' archnemesis is named after Ridley Scott.
I love that a giant alien dragon is called a name like Ridley. It's like naming a balrog Finnegan, it cracks me up. XD

Metroid is my favorite series of all time! I'm kind of a new subscriber and have been watching your vids for a while now. I discovered you through a S.H. Monster Arts Godzilla review (I don't remember which one) and I'm glad I did! Also if it wasn't for alien, the metroid series wouldn't exist. Coincidentally I love both!

I can take the connection further. The Ridley/Ridley connection is accurate, but Samus's character is also largely based off Ripley, as the mother/alien freak child-relationship mechanic is present in both franchises. Also, they're both Strong Female Space Characters.
I really like how it was posed in a variety of ways throughout the video.

I'm kinda glad i held off on this figure. It's not because of my undying displeasure and figurative loss of my will to live whenever I remember the mess that was other M, but because there's an even more detailed figure based on Metroid Prime being made. All the green parts have the same layering effect on them that the visor on this one has.

Connection? The xenomorphs are from the film Alien. Alien was directed by Ridley Scott. The leader of the space pirates and killer of Samus’ family is named Ridley as a reference to the director.

Hey Jobby, I've been watching your vids for a while and had been debating on this Samus one because Other M and not the biggest Metroid fan. Normally avoided Samus figma reviews, but then I saw yours and I got mine. It's actually one of my favorites and I really like the Megaman X and Type 2 Zero. My friend is pretty jealous too, he loves it more than my Akuma Shogun and any others that he owns.
Also my friend wants to possibly murder me to keep it for himself... :I

Still a good figure a few years later, but I'm glad I waited for the Metroid Prime 3 Figma version of Samus which has better articulation and fixes the loose joints in the legs. I just wish the Prime 3 ver. came with the beam effect parts.

i have this figure, worth the $60 i payed , my issue wasn't the legs it was that that ball joint and where kinda fragile , i dropped it once and it snapped in half but i friend of mine fixed it, so i would suggest bring a bit careful , also samus doesn't turn into a ball , her suit does, she just take the fetal portion and the suit moves around her, when you unlock all the art work in prime one you see a pic of what samus looks like in morph ball mode

not a fan of figmas because of the visible joints but DAMN this is nice. not too many visible joints because of her design and plenty of pose potential. niceeeee
actually the game is about a scientist who studies the metriod and the apace pirates just happen to get in the way so she built a suit to protect herself and better study the metriod and the reason that their is multiple games is because their is multiple species of metroid scattered all around

Hey did anybody know the only reason Samus has her Morph Ball form is because in the original game an actual ducking sprite couldnt be made so she just poofed into a ball, and to keep consistancy Nintendo gave it as an ability her suit can use

I really like your videos Jobby, but there is one thing I need to tell you. Since this is from Metroid Other M, it's probably a 'Thumps-Down-Hand'. It's something about her past. Every time, at the end of the missionbriefing, her Commander would ask her 'Any objections, Lady?'Samus used the thump-down as a twofold response. 1. She completely understand the mission, and 2. she would not be derided by being called a lady
